On Loving a Woman

On Loving A Woman: Do No Harm (Fall River Ranch #4)
by Keriann McKenna

This is a story that is dear to most women’s hearts. Lots of people say women we haven’t come very far we still have so much against us. To some extent this is true but it depends on if you look at the glass half full or half empty. I choose to take my half full glass and run with it. It's story about growth not only for women but men as well. Yes both still get abused but it isn’t as bad as it once was. Now you do have a choice back than you didn’t. I loved watching Sarah and Ian grow learning more about the other and just what all was going on. Sarah slowly learned to trust him and also learn that not all men are abusive and demanding that there are true gentlemen who know how to treat a woman.

My mind just doesn’t wrap around a school teaching nothing but how to please a man putting his needs first and for most. The author gives a vivid detail story on this issue about one woman who has no desire to be a wife, her life hasn’t been easy and the man who showed her how different marriage could be. Sarah is sent to a school, so she can learn how things should be, since she doesn’t want to be a wife she isn’t very easily taught which makes the Dean very unhappy. He sends her to Ian to learn but when he learns how bad these ladies are treated he is determined to make it stop and bring the Dean to justice. He and Sarah work together as they find their way to bring justice to so many their love grows.

It really is a well written story that touches your heart. The author put a lot of thought into it, giving wonderful characters you can relate to. I thought it was a great read and look forward to reading more from this author.

Summary
Professor Ian MacDermot is pleased when a beautiful young woman is turned over to him for individual instruction by the Dean of a private school for girls. His task, to teach her to be a dutiful wife.

The fiercely independent-thinking Sarah MacDonald is having none of it. She vowed never to marry and become a 'sex slave' to any man, but Ian MacDermot is not just any man. Confined to his quarters over the carriage house, Sarah is haunted by a dark experience from her past and confused by her feelings for Ian.

When Ian reads the instructions written by the Dean of the school, detailing exactly what he is expected to do to train her, he and Sarah develop a passion for one another and embark on an impossible mission to bring the Dean to justice. They know they may not succeed but time will tell...and timing is everything.

Set in Scotland in 1912, On Loving A Woman is filled with romance and suspense that will keep you turning the pages.
