Wedding Night With the Earl

Wedding Night With the Earl (The Heirs' Club of Scoundrels Trilogy #3)
by Amelia Grey

My Review
Another outstanding read by Ms. Grey! What I love so much about this second chance story are the strong characters who try to outwit each other. I love their sense of humor and the scandals they get caught up in. It is as much fun seeing the messes they make as seeing them get out of them. If you have read the rest of The Heirs' Club of Scoundrels series you know just what a treat you are in for. You have a man who lost his true love who gains a title and an heir all in the same day. A lady who wants a man to love that will love her and not her money. When these two people get together you can see the steam and the heat of passion fly off them.

My heart breaks for Adam who lost not only his wife but his baby in child birth. He adored her but felt he failed her by not being able to keep her alive. He will never forget that day and all that had been said. Never will he do that to another woman. Then he meets Katharine and gets off on the wrong foot. He matches wits with her and then sticks his foot in his mouth. Over dinner he makes up for that but they start a scandal of their own which has tongue wagging. Will this be the woman who makes him eat his words the women he wants but can’t have? I loved Adam and his wit he kept me laughing and smiling. He has a big heart and charming ways. Really a true gentleman in times when it was the women’s place to say no he finds he is the one saying it.

Katharine has so much to give the right man only they do not look past her handicap. She is humorous and full of wit. She is a very strong woman who speaks her mind never letting a man get one over on her. All she wants is love and a family but it looks like she will have to settle for marriage with no love that is until Adam comes along. He shows her true passion and then takes it away. He will not give her the one thing she once besides his love. It looks like she will have to marry another man and live in a loveless marriage.

The author knows how to keep a reader entertained with humor, love, passion and scandal. She twist a compelling read that will keep you turning the pages as she gives you surprises that will keep you laughing. The author gives you a wonderful story at a steady pace with well developed characters you can relate to. Lord the messes these two get into and the things they pull off to get out of them. You can feel the passion come off them when they are in the same room. This was a book I could not put down and read it all at one setting.  This is romance at its finest. I love this author as I am sure you will to after reading “Wedding Night With The Earl”

You and Only You

You and Only You (Blessings, Georgia #1)
by Sharon Sala

My Review
I totally loved this story of second chances with a story of TRUE love. It doesn’t matter what you look like it is what is on the inside. This wonderful author gives you a wonderful plot of lost love that died young and the women who wouldn’t let go. It turned her into a woman she didn’t want to be only to bring her back to life when the wrong man came to town turning her head wanting her to better herself by losing weight and changing her style never seeing the man who truly loved her all of her life. This is one author that brings you strong characters who might be a little weak in getting those they love to notice. The ending truly makes this a 5 star read with the new improved LilyAnn who takes the bull by the horn along with a few body parts :D . You heart will break for the people of this small town where news gets around fast.

LilyAnn’s fiancée died in Iraq no one grieved like she did for some many years she would go set by his grave and talk to him. She went around her day to day life putting on the pounds and not caring what she looked like. Every week she hung out with her best friend who lives next door along with visiting her lost loves grave. When T.J comes to town reminding her of her lost love from his looks to his truck he gives her a reason to set up and take notice living a more healthy life and losing those pounds. But in doing so she gives hope to Mike until she drops the shell and breaks his heart.

Everyone in town felt for LilyAnn’s but not as much as Mike who has loved her for as long as he can remember.  He doesn’t see her weight or her double chin all he sees is the women he fell in love with. If only he could make her see how much she means to him. He goes on with his day to day life being there for her, making her laugh and hoping against hope one day she will open her eyes put her past behind her and see him. When he thinks she finally has hope shines in his eye until she tells him it isn’t him. He puts a plan into action to get the women he loves but is it too late will T.J win in the end.

The author gives you a wonderful plot with amazing characters that you will feel sorry for, laugh with and almost cry for. The plot thickens as the author takes you on a ride of lost love, new love only to find the love you always wanted has been before your eyes. There will be characters you will not care for and others you will love. You will be shock at some of the turns and laugh at others along with wanting to hit a few. The ending makes this story you will be cheering and cursing before you are through. They author gives you reality like you have never seen it with a touch of humor with heart that will leave your spirits uplifted and give you hope for an everlasting love. I am sure once you read this it will touch you as much as it did me.

 My Review
This is a wonderful story on second chances where two people that were raised together went their separate ways both not truly happy with the outcome. It is a wonderful clean Christian romance on forgiveness and healing. The author puts a few twist in there you won’t see coming which really makes it an entertaining read. I am sure it will touch you as much as it did me.

Tessa has had a crush on Brand from the start at one point she thought they might marry but without a word he ran off and married Monica which hurt her deeply. Each went on with their lives Brand having to live with a woman he didn’t love and Tessa coming up pregnant. Brand wife dies and he is left to raise his daughter. His mother has health issues and ask Tessa to come help which she does knowing how hard it is to raise a child alone her heart goes out for Brand. She feels she is over the crush she has on him and with the father of her child leaving her she has learnt her lesson on men. She was embarrassed and hurt when she had to tell her family she was expecting with no father in sight. She thought the father loved her but she learned fast how men use women and she isn’t going down that road again. Being with Brand again she finds her feelings for him has not changed and this is where the story gets very interesting when secretes comes out, hurting some and almost destroying a family.

Brand just got to the point where he could love his wife when she died leaving him alone to raise his daughter. Tessa is a blessing to come help but on her arrival Meg said something that sets Brand off he isn’t looking for a wife or a mother for his little girl. When thing calms down he finds he still has feeling for Tessa at one point he asked her to marry him she said no she wants to be loved for herself not just be a stand in mother. He is about to get his hands full and his heart broken.

Kevin Clay does a great job on narration with his many different character voices. Each are a treat as he brings the story alive for you. His voice is very pleasant to listen to. You have no trouble understanding what each character is going through with his even tones you know when they are upset, happy or sad. His male voices are a little better than his child or female ones. The  pitch of his female and child voices are a little off they do not flow as easy as the male voices do. It is hard for me to say it is a cross between being too high and sounding a little robotic.  I would not say it takes away from the narration it was a lovely audio. His normal voice is very rich, pleasant and easy to listen to as well as his male voices. With a little more work on the other ones he will be an outstanding narrator.  I enjoyed his narration very much and look forward to listening to more from him.

I found this to be a very entertaining read with many twist and turns. For the most part I found this to be a very believable read. Where Tessa comes to visit for week with no funds and turns down Brand’s money you are left thinking she has money. Than when she goes home she talks about needing money. I never understood how she could take off not looking for a job and still pay her bills. The rest of the story is very believable filled with heartbreak, love, sorrow, misunderstanding and a second chance to find love. At a few parts in the book I was left with my mouth hanging open never expecting the story to go that way. I did not want to put the audio down I really wanted to see where I was taken. I really enjoyed this story very much.
