This was somewhat predictable but there is something about lost love and coming home that gets me right in the heart every time. One wants what is best for the other, the other knows they want them to go away and leaves but through it all love shines with the one that got away. Now back home Clara only wants to sell out but her uncle has other ideas she must meet his wishes before she can let go of the past.

Ms. Kay does a wonderful job of narration her many different character voices are delightful. You always know who is talking and just what they are feeling. She puts real emotion into each character giving you a very highly entertaining listen. I found at time I was chuckling right along with her and felt the pain from the past as these two broke the others heart.  Her male voices are just as wonderful as her female one from her deep male tones to her sweet and sexy female’s ones.  She really brought to life the story for me. Her performance was outstanding with her hitting each tone and emotion right on the money. The volume is even throughout with no repeat of words, no background noise just a smooth clear and clean audio that at times is fun make you smile. The narrator knows how to pull you in keeping you invested in the audio in this short sweet listen that is full of emotions, sorrow and love.

What a fun listen the author gives you an emotional listen that really pulls on your heartstrings in this small town where everyone knows everyone’s business.  There is a little excitement and a few thrills as two people from the past fight their feelings only to find they are stronger than ever. The author gives no fillers every word is needed to fill in the blanks to give a highly entertaining read. She throws a few twist in that keeps you invested with a little danger. The plot is a delight with delightful characters you can relate to. I found myself chuckling as these two dances around each other. All I can say is that Clara has one wise uncle who let her live her life but is now trying to give it back to her.

I requested the audio from audiobookboom.com I thought it would be a great audio and found I was right. Great story as well as narration that was fun to listen to.

Summary
Can they strike love again?
At 19, Clara Graves left Necessity, Texas, to try to heal her broken heart. She swore she would never come back, and she's kept that promise. Until now. When she returns for her uncle's funeral, she inherits a small oil company that may keep her tied to Necessity for a few days longer than she expected. But as soon as she can close or sell the business, she's pointing her boots toward greener pastures.
To this day Mitchell MacAllan regrets letting Clara go without a fight. But his whole life was in Necessity, and leaving town wasn't in the cards. As the foreman of Aerio Oil and Gas, he works hard to keep the townspeople employed and maintain the business, despite a recent downturn in petroleum prices.
Now Mac has less than a week to convince Clara that she should give Aerio a chance and maybe even forgive him in the meantime. Otherwise she will once again be leaving Necessity - and taking his heart with her, this time for good.
