SEALs of Honor: Bret

SEALs of Honor: Brett (SEALs of Honor #10)
by Dale Mayer

This was a great read full of danger, mystery and suspense. Brett is on a mission with his team when he gets a call from his mother that some of the family is in danger can he go check it out. On getting to the yacht he finds it has been taken over and his ex is aboard with her young children. Gun fire breaks out many are taken down. There are some intense scene with Ceci and her children will they make it out alive. Just when you think things can’t get in worse they do. This is a fast action packed romance that keeps you guessing and jumping. There are a few minutes throughout that your heart beats fast wondering how things can get worse.  Their break wasn’t the best and her rebound marriage was good but was lacking. Now with Brett back in her life the past is relived with feeling going deep.

I really like the twist and turns the author gives you. The characters are great you can feel the emotion coming off the page with each turn of events. I thought this was a very believable story that really held your attention from start to finish. I really like her kids they were just so sweet just trying to be normal kids with a mother that is on an emotional downward spiral in more ways than one. Brett was so kind and caring giving her the room she needed but pushing her when he had to, to keep her and the children alive. I have not read any other books by this author or this series but I didn’t feel lost at all. Everything is explained very well with a story I couldn’t put down. I am looking forward to reading more from this author.

Summary
High seas terror, international intrigue... homegrown problems...

Rescuing hostages on a yacht is a fairly normal mission for Brett, one of the elite SEALs, but having one of those hostages be an ex-girlfriend and her kids — well that changes everything.

Particularly now that he knows she's single again.

Ceci had walked away from Brett and into another relationship as a way to heal. Only to end up as a widow raising two kids. She planned to stay single and secure, avoid all the heartbreak that relationships bring until she comes face to face with her rescuer...and realizes she's been fooling herself for years.

Unfortunately safe doesn't mean safe anymore as the situation goes from bad to worse and she realizes she might never get a chance to fix her mistake..
