Sanctuary Cove

Sanctuary Cove
by Kate James

What I loved about this was the sense of danger and not knowing where it was coming from. I enjoyed the mystery and how Emma and Josh’s relations started nice and slow building up to something wonderful and exciting. This was just a wonderful clean read that holds your attention. At times it might be a little slow but about half way it takes off pretty fast with some intense reading that kept me up until 2 AM. Ms. James builds a lovely little town that is so peaceful with wonderful detail that you find yourself relating as you read. I would so love to live in this town.

Emma is a very strong woman she must just believe in herself which Josh helps with. He moves very slow giving her the time she needs and helping as she needs help.  She can be very emotional and when it comes to a hurt animal her emotions are off the chart. She doesn’t have much faith in men kind and has reason for that. It was such a pleasure watching her bloom and gets back herself respect.  She has some very tough choices to make that will affect not only her relationship, but her job as well.

Josh has his own troubles lord his ex is something else as you will find out. He isn’t really ready for another relationship. He does want a family someday but just hasn’t found the right women yet. Emma moves very fast in his line and he will do everything in his power to protect her. He is just a wonderful man from start to finish.

I would have liked to have know what happen to her ex, he was in a mess of trouble and we see him at the courthouse but once the trial was over nothing else was said about him. I also would have loved to have seem how Emma and Josh’s were doing down the road.  This was really a great read that has suspense that keeps you invested why the danger makes you heart beat double times. Expect the unexpected there are many twists that will make your head spin. It is has a very exciting build up that holds you on the edge.  The detail given to this story is delightful giving the read no trouble picturing the animals, tress, lake, river, the peace of the land in very detail in your mind. This is truly one of the most heartwarming stories I have read in a while, scenes will break your heart and others will keep you smiling. It is a very emotional read that pulls you in. So many people are going to love this powerful story of not turning you back but doing what is right.

Summary

Can his safe haven be enough for her?

Emma Meadows never imagined that sticking to her principles against an act of corruption by a New York senator would cost her her job as VP of communications. Heartbroken, she retreats to her cottage in the Adirondacks to lick her wounds and, in the process, rescues an injured dog that only Josh Whitmore can save.

The veterinarian works diligently to bring dog and woman back to full fighting form, until allegations against the senator become more serious. Seeing Emma's reaction to the increasing pressure, Josh realizes that inevitably she'll find a way back to the top…and he'll likely lose her for good.
