Chase's Story (Grandma's Wedding Quilts)

Chase's Story (Grandma's Wedding Quilts Book 10)
by P. A. Estelle

The story covers a lot of things from abuse, death, starting over, mail order bride, pain, sorrow, getting over those we lost, dreams and making them come true, as well as finding your way back. Chase isn’t letting anything stand in his way of owning his own farm, much to the disappointment of his father. It does seem nothing can make this man happy. It wasn’t always that way or so his mother told him. Once his father was a fun loving, caring, and humorous man until something happened to change his life. Chase doesn’t care it isn’t his fault he had nothing to do with it. The best memories he had was when he stayed with his grandparents who showed him true love as well as getting him hooked on ranching. The day he walked away from his family was the best day of his life that is until he bought his own ranch miles from them. Everything was going great for him until he rode right into an ambush with a gun held to his head from a little bit of a women who looked liked she had been beaten all most to death.

Molly needed help when her husband up and died leaving her alone with nowhere to turn she became a mail order bride only to find the man she was suppose to marry lied and was no good. She went from a loving relationship to an abusive one. One day she had enough running for her and her son’s life she had nothing to lose when she pulled a gun on Chase.

Both Molly and Chase have family but for one reason or the other they can’t go back home. This is a story about forgiveness not only for others but our selves. A lot of pain must fall before these two can work out their differences, along with their family. With Molly at a safe place it doesn’t mean her and her son are safe. The attraction is strong but Molly must think of her son first. Chase has worked so hard to get what he has, will the man after Molly end his life as well as hers? Can they forgive their families, ask for forgiveness for their selves and hope to find peace with them? So many unanswered questions and so far to still go before a HEA can be found.

The author gives you a wonderful plot that pulls you in holding you on the edge with danger at times life and death. Once one thing works out it looks like things might work out than something else happens that could but a stop to them being a happy family. I really love the family issues which makes this a believable story. You have people just like us trying to get by making a life for their selves with family ties that are not strong. Lots of misunderstandings which we hope time will heal. I really liked how Granny came into the story along with her beloved quilt. You get to know a little more of her story and the story of her quilts. This is really a delightful clean read full of love, needs, wants and passion of two people who really just want to find peace and a happy life.

The supporting characters are wonderful they add so much to the story. Your heart goes out to each of these people for one reason or another. You have some who thing they know it all only to find when they get a little older they don’t know as much as they thought they did. Others have a greater loss that drives them and their demons. It all comes together very well with a wonderful plot that keeps you turning the pages. There will be moments you will hold your breath and others you just about want to cry for the pain and the reason it is there.

This was a book I could not put down I looked at the clock it was 9 the next thing I know it was 11 and I still could not put it down. It was a short night and a tiring day but I had a smile on my face as the memories of this story stayed with me.  I just loved this whole series and can’t wait to read more of it learning about each family and how Granny comes into it. I really fell in love with Grandma who is a delightful lady with fire. I had not read anything by this author and can’t wait to read more of her work. This is one author who knows how to entertain giving you a compelling read that makes you smile, laugh and want to cry. I loved the ending where the whole story really comes together.
