Forgotten Secrets

Forgotten Secrets (Singing River Legacy #1)
by Robin Perini

This was a wonderful story that is action packed full of suspense and thrills. After picking this book up there is no wonder this author is a bestseller. She writes in a way that you can picture each scene as it plays out before you almost like a movie as she takes your breath away waiting for the next shoe to drop. You become so invested in the story and the characters you almost forget you are reading. I am guessing the audio on this is as outstanding if not even better then the book. This is the first I have read from this author and I was blow away at the details she gives you along with the buildup of the suspense that has you on the edge of your seats.

It always breaks our hearts when we see in the news that another child is missing with little hope of finding them or what happened to them. It is much more heartbreaking for the family members. It is hard to even think of what Riley went through watching her sister being taken away and being helpless. There is no wonder when she grew up she became an FBI profiler still researching for answers to her own loss.

One weekend of blitz with the sex ex-Navy SEAL leads to a wonderful friendship where they call each other every week keeping in touch.  When she gets the call from him saying his sister has been taken she and the town are on a race against the clock to solve the mystery and hope to bring his sister home alive. This is an action packed thriller that has you holding your breath. With so many stories the author uses a lot of filler here you will find NONE. Each scene has a reason and keeps your heart pumping as these characters go into danger to bring home a family member they hold dear to their hearts.

They author brings a lot to her story touching on many different issues such as abduction, how the family deals with the issues of loss, Alzheimer’s, and one that is very dear to my heart PTSD.  PTSD is serious being a military supporter I have seen this for my own eyes. The author really did her research well as she brings to life the seriousness of this illness.

Through all this you heartbreaks for Riley as she uses her job and their resources to hunt for answers on the cold case of her sister never giving up and will use anything and everything to bring those answers. The romance is very touching as these two works together going through issues of their own. It really is a heart breaking read that holds the reader’s attention giving us a very wonderful thrilling romance. The author not only gives you a compelling read that is highly entertaining but some wonderful supporting characters that I hope to see in future stories. They really bring a lot to this read that not only holds your attention but gives you a thrilling exciting ride that will leave chills down your spine.  I am so looking forward to reading more stories by this author who is fast becoming one of my favorites.
