This is the first book by this author that I have read it was so much fun I totally enjoyed it. The author gives you a story you can really sink your eyes into giving you a page turner from the suspense to the touching heartwarming romance.

Maddy’s boyfriend died on his job as a firefighter. Losing him and with the memories he left behind it was more than she could handle she left her home and moved to NY. On getting there she meets up with a long time friend she grew up with Ronan who is part of the K-9 unit. Maddy doesn’t know it since she only had eyes for one man but Ronan has always had a crush on her.  As their friendship grows it turns into more. Maddy who dearly loved her boyfriend has gone through her mourning period but is she ready for a new love?  They find they are thrown together as they go home to be part of their best friend’s wedding. They grow closer together as their jobs entwine there is a killer on the loose who is stalking realtors which puts Maddy in the line of fire since she is a realtor.

I love the suspense the author throws in as well as the sweet dog who is Ronan partner. I just love a good K-9 story where you get to see the office work with the dog trying to solve a crime. The author really out does herself with the sweet heartwarming story. The buildup of the romance is so touching it warms your heart as these two works together to bring a serial killer to justice. The author gives a compelling story with scenes you can picture in your mind. I had no trouble relating to the characters that goes from friends to lovers. My husband and I started out this way being the best of friends when elements pushed us closer we couldn’t help but fall in love. I am always a sucker for this type of story.

The supporting characters are people you will fall in love with along with the small town life people with values. The author gives you details of the past and present that really pulls the reader in giving you a page turn that grabs your attention and holding it. This might have been the first book I have read of this author but it sure won’t be the last. If you haven’t read anything by this author I hope you pick this story up and give it a try you won’t be disappointed.
