New Year, Baby!

New Year, Baby!
by Lilly Christine

This is a story of second chances and misunderstandings, starting over and hoping to get it right this go around. This is a cute read that held my attention making me want to turn the pages to see what was going to happen. It mostly coverers just a few days but you only need a few when you are already in love with the person you run into. It is the holiday as Mollie and Derek get on the same plane to go home from visiting with family. If that isn’t bad enough they have to set beside each other making small talk. As they both take a trip back down memory lane to their high school year when they first met and the passion they felt all the way to their toes. How can one person stay mad after all these years and the other wondering just what he did wrong this time?

This was cute and at times funny. The pull between these two is amazing one look gets the mind going, one touch blows them right out of the water. The only problem I had was I thought the ending was rushed and the ex left me wondering if he would take this laying down. The title is a little misleading you expect there to be a baby but it is more about him calling her baby as in Happy New Years Baby.  It would have been nice to see what happen a little more in the future. This is book one so maybe book two will have these delightful characters in it so we can see how they are doing.

Now that Derek has her in his sites he isn’t about to let her go this time without a fight. This isn’t high school and he isn’t a teen anymore. What they had was mind blowing and he wants it back. Mollie isn’t very happy with the outcome she has spent her time stay out of his reach but now that he is just a finger tip away she is having trouble controlling herself. You can really feel the sparks fly as these two come together. One plane ride and a few drinks leave you with some very hot passionate nights.

The author gives you a very entertaining read that captures you pulling you in. It is a believable story with characters you will love and a few you won’t care to much for. I just loved the pet names they had for each other. Mollie is the Pit Bull with Derek being the jerk. It was fun watching them bait the other as they meet head on and you see the sparks fly from tempters raised to the passion they have been holding in for so long.  These two will have to learn to communicate, see the past for what it is, and understand what their true emotions are before they can even think about a HAE.
