The second book in this series is as exciting an outstanding read as the first one. Ms. Burke’s gives you everything you come to expect in a well written western romance as she puts a twist on her story bring in true history as she spins a tale of bring brides to a western town in hopes of calm down the men from their wild ways. These are women who will be heard and not told who they will marry. They demand courtship and the right to pick the man they will marry. They take the bull by the horn and start as they intend to go on. Charm La Belle is on the run hiding a secret she signs up to be a mail order bride. She might have signed up to be a mail order bride but she has no intentions of being one she plans on finding a job. When she hears that Patrick is looking for a female singer she walks right in and applies for the job. This is one sassy bold lady as she climbs on the bar dancing and singing putting on a show. Patrick isn’t too happy at first she reminds him of a women long ago but he gives in and hires her. When trouble comes he is told to marry her, he has been married once before and really doesn’t want to get married again. Charm has no intention of marrying ever she has seen what marriage can do. No man will control her again. Can these two come to an agreement that will suit them both? As they stir up a mess that is entertaining and will keep you chuckling since Patrick has in his mind he will marry her and she said no way. Trouble in on it way, will they give in and let this destroy their future or will they fight this as one to find they were meant for each other? This book sure has the right name it fits it to a T. I love Patrick he is a down to earth guy who might be a little pushy when he knows what he wants. I had to laugh at him as his jealousy comes out. I think he has been too long in the west and has forgotten how to win a ladies heart. It doesn’t take long for Charm to put her foot down showing her temper and just how things will be. Patrick is having none of it as her secret comes out he is more determine to make her is bride. Will her past come knocking and if it does what will Patrick do. I loved the strong characters that will let nothing stand in their way. When life gets tough Charm gets stronger not letting other judge her doing what she wants, to entertain at any cost. This is one author that I know will always entertain me and keep me smiling as she spins a story that grabs your attention giving you a feeling of pleasure as you are drawn in. This was a very well thought out and well written giving you the facts why keeping you smiling. Her characters are people you can relate to as she brings that small town feeling to life. She has a way of spinning a tale to make you believe it truly happened as she pulls you in with a page turner. Her books always move me and I never want the story to end. I hope you will pick up one of her wonderful stories and be taken back to a time when life was hard but much simpler.
