Viktor

Viktor
by Clarissa Wild

My Review
I picked up the book the overview said was “Inspired by a fairytale”. I have found the redo of fairytales are not my cup of tea. I promised to read, review and give my honest opinion so I pick it up never wanting to put it back down. From the first page I thought this isn’t like any fairytale I have read. The author might have got a very few things from one but this will blow your mind from the injustice of the innocent to the controlling of a business.

After so many people made fun of him Viktor he turned to the dark hiding away. When he does come out he always wears a mask. Many nights he made a call for a lady of the night to come dance for him. He has never had the same one twice. One night, one call with change his life he will never be the same. One look, one act, and he is hooked like he never was before. She was told do not look him in the face. What she saw was the outline of a man setting in a chair in the dark. She is pulled to him not knowing why but when she is done with her dance and he with his deed she walks to the door only to look him in the eyes. Viktor cannot turn away as he grabs her arm and hold her in place she looks him straight in the eyes and is not afraid. How can she not see the monster in him, he turns and walks away never to forget her. Least did he know within a few days she would be back in his life and he isn’t letting her go this time.

This was a very fast pace thriller full of bad men, innocent people, kidnapping and the list goes on. I really can’t tell you more than that or it would give the story away. Just when you think you have a handle on what is going on the story changes throwing you in a twist you never saw coming. The ending is a true shocked one part I had a feeling of, the next one blow my mind at what evil people we have in the world and the things they are willing to do to make money.

I loved the characters they really are normal more of a lower class I would say. Each just trying to make it by day by day hoping for a better way of life. Yes Viktor in a lot of ways is evil, is a monster but he truly has a heart of gold. He just has a short fuse that makes him lose control breaking things etc. Alexis doesn’t remember too much of her past life. She remember a nice man, someone telling her to run after that she spends all her time trying to feed her sister. She never wanted to sale her body. There is a fine line between what you will do to protect those you love and what you won’t. I really liked both of these characters. When their story comes out your heart will go out to them wishing you could have been there to make it all better.

This is a very well written story with an outstanding plot. You can tell this author took her time working out each step that each person would take. What she ends up with is a wonderful entertaining thriller, mystery, that is action packed with too many people hiding things that you won’t see until the end. You are going to have to look very close to pick up any clues. This is one story you will have trouble putting down and most likely will stay up late at night. You will be hooked for the first page until the last. If you are looking for a story like you have not seen from this author before you should pick this up. I promise you there will be more than one place that will blow your mind in this thrilling read.
