Meet Me Under the Full Moon (A very emotional touching read)

Meet Me Under the Full Moon (Meet Me #1)
by Kelly Collins

My Review
I found this author through a newsletter and thought I would give one of her books a read. I have to say she hooked me from the start and had me flipping though the page like there is no tomorrow. I found this to be a very emotional, heartbreaking (mine), heartfelt, sweet military story of a soldier who had been hit with an IED. Cuts run deep and emotions run high when you finally come home only to see your battle is not over. War is hard, battles are lost they can be brutal leaving you half the person you once was. I very much doubt you can read this story and not have it touch you strongly in some way. This author goes deep with emotions, starting over, learning to laugh by giving you a very touching short story of the battle after the war in a wonderful heartwarming romance.

What I really loved about this book was how real it felt, with characters that feel real. You hardly hear about when they come home broken, half dead, wishing they were, with no one to stand beside them. The love of their lives can’t take the broken person who doesn’t feel whole. This author brings the story of after the war when the soldier comes home and in rehab. The true battle starts when they take that first step and learn to live again. The next part I loved is seeing soldiers half broken learning to smile and learning to live again. Finding that special someone who takes them to the next level, giving them love, happiness and a reason to get up in the morning.  I felt very much invested in this read with a subject that is dear to my heart. By the time I had finished the read I felt like the characters were my family as I cheered each of them on to a new and better life. The author could not have given this book a better title it fits the story so well.

The author gave a lot of thought in writing this story giving a lot of attention, feeling to this as she gives you a meaningful read. It maybe be a short story but she leaves nothing out. It is easy to follow and will almost bring tears to your eyes. Mark is a disabled vet who has to come to terms with his disability. He will have to learn to get over his pain and loss of more than a leg.   He is angry at the world and most likely his self. In comes a lady who wants to dance who is she kidding he cannot dance he only has one leg. This is their story of overcoming, loving, supporting, seeing the true person not a shell.  Ava has lost so much to but she gives of herself to bring a smile to the vets, giving them something to look forward to each week. Once they overcome the disability to see them shine, come back to life, know they are important was a pleasure to see. I highly recommend you pick this or one of this author books up. You are in for a wonderful treat which will put you in an emotional tail spin but leave you with a smile on your face.

Overview
The soldiers at Walter Reed know that war can be brutal and cruel. The biggest battle is often fought after they leave the battlefield.

Ava Sawyer knows the cost of war too well. As a volunteer at Walter Reed she sees the men and woman rotate through the halls as the nation tries to heal it’s heroes. Using music and movement, she encourages the wounded vets to find a new rhythm in their lives.

Mark Taylor thought his dreams had ended, until a beautiful woman dances into his life and his heart.

Will the scars of war be too much to handle, or can love conquer all?
