Asphalt Cowboy's Girl

Asphalt Cowboy's Girl
by Marie Savage

Never knowing what to expect from an author you haven’t read before I picked this up and started reading. What I found was a lovely story about lives its ups and downs as well as passion and finding what is truly important. In Luke’s eyes he has it all or pretty much all as he rides the roads having no real comment, no one telling him what to do and living life. He isn’t missing out on much with girls lining up for his attention. You do have to give it to him he is straight up with them, what you see is what you get with no strings attached. It is really hard not to like him with his playboy way, but he has heart, kindness and really is a gentleman. Just the kind of man every woman thinks she can change lol.

Aimee is the totally opposite her life hasn’t been easy, she doesn’t have anything she wants. On the run from an abusive ex searching for her dream it looks like life just throw in a few more bad punches. I can’t think of anything worse than being so far from home and the place you are going. You can’t turn back you have no one to call for help, all alone with places to go but no way to get there. In a lot of ways I can relate with her, been in the abusive relationship is hard even harder to get away. My car has never been stolen but it has been broken down with no one really to turn to for help. When you leave a relationship you have to leave your friends behind since most likely they are the abuser friends. It was very easy for me to relate to Aimee.

I thought this was well written, the plot was great, the characters very likable. The author did take me in giving me a believable story. It was easy to follow, short read that makes you smile and remember days long ago when life was harder, tougher, before you found the man who made life worth living. It was great to see both sides of the story from both Aimee and Luke. Seeing how they saw things and what they thought. There is a little drama and a lot of passion, very well blended pulling the reader in. I really enjoyed this and can't wait to read more of her work.
