APB: Baby

APB: Baby (The Precinct: Bachelors in Blue #1)
by Julie Miller

My Review
This was a story that had me hooked from the start with a shooting at a wedding after a long night at the hospital with his grandfather and trying to work out who the shooter is Niall comes home to his apartment hoping to get some much needed rest. What he hears is a baby screaming off its head next door. When the baby doesn’t stop he goes over finds the apartment has been broken into with only a screaming baby left behind. Where the devil is Lucy and why would she leave a baby here alone? Surely someone didn’t break in just to leave a baby but it looks like nothing is missing. This is where the story takes off with Lucy coming home finding the sexy man from next door in her apartment with a baby.

The author pulls you in with danger at every turn wondering who is after Lucy and baby Tommy and why would someone shut up a wedding. Everywhere you turn there are new threats and some old ones. Through the bullets, stabbings, fights, chases and trying to keep people alive the author gives you an intriguing read that keeps you turning the pages finding out what new twist this author has for your entertainment. Things are not always as they seem sometimes we can’t even believe our eyes.

This has a wonderful plot that will make you smile and leave you sad at the same time. The main characters are strong with a little nerdy around the edges. Who said a nerd isn’t sexy doesn’t know what they are talking about. Lucy is a wonderful caring woman who has a bad past but does her best to help others who might be going through the same things as she had. Niall is a very sexy nerdy doctor who deals with the crime scene of the dead. Give him a body and there isn’t anything he can’t tell you about it. Niall’s family are wonderful caring humorous people, they believe in family and stand beside each other. They are a group of lawmen who upholds justice at every turn. The only thing I didn’t understand was why the guy told Lucy to keep the baby away from its mother. This was never explained I guess it was to stop her from looking for her?

The author paints a vivid scene from fear, to death that you have no trouble picturing in your mind. You will not see the end coming as she spins a tale of anger, fear, hurt and control. This was a well written story that will stay with you. You will feel for those who are hurt and those that didn’t make it. You will cheer for you main characters as this family soon feels like they are yours. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this series and find out why the grandfather was shot and Keir story. He is the fun loving joke playing brother. If you are looking for a mystery full of suspense, a story inside a story and two people who give back more than that take who will love until the end of time this is a story you will love.
