My Review
This was a thrilling mystery I had trouble putting down I even stayed up late to read until I could not keep my eyes open. Madison has decided to do it alone and become a PI only she is bored and misses the action she had with the FBI. When she finds out there is a major murder case she makes some calls she so wants in on this. When she finds out the couple were her parents best friends this becomes personal. The only thing standing in her way is Josh she doesn’t want him to think she can’t go it alone nor does she want him thinking that she is thinking about him and wants to work with him again. It is taken out of her hands when the handsome Josh shows up at her business with stacks of papers and breakfast telling her he wants her in on this case that things really get interesting.
You can really feel the attraction and pull from Madison and Josh as they work together to find the killer. They do and have always worked well together but their feelings get in the way of work as they try to set these feelings aside to get the job done before the killer gets away or kills again. This time it might even be closer to home as the author takes you on a spin twisting ride of who done it and how to find the killer why staying alive themselves.
There are lots of rumors about the murder couple could they have been with the mafia? Things just are not adding up why did they stay in a hotel and not go on home when they were just miles away? The author puts a nice spin on the story keeping you guessing as Madison and Josh work through their feelings. The secrets she is uncovering might alter her life along with any chance she has of having a happy future.
The characters are very interesting as the author brings new characters on board with a well thought out plot giving the reader what they ask for in a thrilling story with danger that has you turning the pages trying to work out who and what. The author gives a very vivid detail of things around you that you wish you were part of this book and this town. Before you know it you are hooked, seeing the ending coming near you wish this story would go on and on as she pulls you in giving you a wonderful read. I really enjoyed watching Madison and Josh work out their issues and grow. I loved the twists which leaving you guessing to the outcome. The ending will have you holding your breath think no please no only to find a thrilling exciting twist that leaves you hanging for a few minutes.
I thought this had a wonderful plot with wonderful exciting characters. I love Ms. Jones writing style as she takes you away giving you a story you are invested in rushing to the next page leaving you at times holding your breath waiting for the next shoe to drop. If you love a thrilling mystery which holds your attention you have found it with this author. You should pick up this series and be taken away on one thrill after another.
