The Second Wife
by Kishan Paul
My Review
5 Stars +++++++
This is the second book I have read by this author and I have to say it is the best. After reading Blind Love I do not know what I expect but it sure wasn't this. The author gives you adventure with many twist and turns. Things are not always as they seem for sure. This is really an outstanding read of survival, getting even, taking back your life, facing your fears as you face your past which you have lost and learning to start over again when you do not know which way to turn. I can't even image going through what Alisha did. It would be bad enough being taken but to being taken to another country where everything is so strange you wouldn't know which end is up. To live day to day in a country you do not even know their language with no friends to talk to only a doctor and your husband who isn't your husband would be ungodly. Than to be taken and beaten over and over again for little or no reason is just mind blowing. What this author gives you is a well told story with a wonderful plot of one women and how she survived building a new life and a new family that gave her the reason to carry on.
Alisha is a sweet wonderful caring lady that gives so much of herself to everyone. She has a wonderful husband who adores her. A loving family that bring a smile to her face with their love. She has the best and everything any women could want until the day she walked outside and someone took her to a new country, killed people in front of her and became her worse nightmare. She prays for someone to come get her and take her home. She prays for the love of her life until the day she sees a picture and knows her life is over. She has nowhere to go, no one to love and no reason to live until the day she built her new family from those around her that are going through the same thing she is. Will this nightmare ever end? Will she ever find a way out and a place to call hers?
David remembers it like it was yesterday even through it has been two years since the love of his life came up missing. He has turned over every stone, she is nowhere but in his dreams. Those wonderful dreams at night when he is asleep she comes to him he reaches out and touches her only to wake and find she is gone. After two long painful years he has found someone who can make him smile again. If she could only make him forget.....until the day a man came to him and said your wife is alive and is the second wife of another man. He leaves no stone unturned as he finds away to get to her and bring her home but will it be too late?
What makes this such an outstanding read from me is the plot and the writing style of this author. I have said it before and I am saying it again this is one author you want to keep your eyes on. This is a very believable plot with some wonderful caring characters. Some you will love and others you will want to kill yourself. The author gives you all the fact without throwing them in your face. You know what happen and you know it is terrible but you do not read all the details. You can feel the pain of the victim as she is rape and beaten but it is told in away that your mind can handle it. There are so many victims here from one man that hates. No one said no to him if they do he kills them or takes them. No one has been able to stop him. Alisha believes she can and will die trying, she has nothing to lose and nothing to live for. He must die, his evil must be stopped. There is many more beside her that have paid his price. She vows no more will die because of him. David isn't walking away he will make this man pay for what he has not only done to him but his wife. He will not leave Pakistani without her. Now it becomes a fight to the death who will live and who will die.
This is one book I could not put down it held my interest like no other one has in awhile. There were times my mouth fell open and my hand went over it as I read. There were times I was close to tears as the author took me through the pages of hurt and pain. Many times I thought let me in a room with him and I will happily take him out. It has been a long time since a story has touched me so deep that I felt it all the way to my soul. I love the fact that it is told in a way that shouldn't trip any wires in your brain if you have been abused. It is a story you can relate to without having to read word for word what was done. I just love this book and plain to read it again. Most likely over and over again throughout the years. I think most who read this will not be able to walk away without being touched in some way. I know this review does not to justice to this book, there are no words to say just how wonderful this story is as you are taken to another place and another time of your worse nightmare. I highly recommend you pick up The Second Wife and give it a read.

My Review
All over a 5 story a 4
The author put some interesting twist in this read with some real sorrow. I kept saying no please no but she didn't it anyway. I really enjoyed book 2 but not as much as I did book 1 mostly due to Rachel and how she deals with issues. When Rachel's two lives meet head on she struggles to keep everyone safe. With the outcome of this book there is only one thing left to do and that will be the start of the next book in this series. The author brings back some wonderful characters as she touches base with the past book. As the War with the Others builds it is harder to keep her secret safe. When this war finally hits some will die and others will be left behind to pick up the pieces. I have to wonder what they outcome will be for so many who have lost so much.
Rachel is a strong bullhead women who will not listen to reason. I really liked her in the first book but not so much in this one. She doesn't really think just runs head on into trouble thinking she is helping when she is not. Her actions made her lose someone very important to her. Rachel really is a very sweet and wonderful lady who just needs to think before she does anything. With what she has planned to do in the next book I sure hope she really thinks before she jumps if she doesn't she could get in the worse trouble ever or even end of dead.
Leonardo is still a wonderful character keeping everyone safe but in this installment things go a little haywire as he has to deal with issues he has no control over. He goes missing and when he is found he just isn't the same. Can love and friendship save him or will his life be changed forever.
Shana Pennington-Baird as the narrator is wonderful she brings so much life to each character. It is easy to tell her males from her females as she creates and gives life to all that is around them. Her voices has even tones with just the right about of emotion for each that you know what they are feeling and where their thoughts are. There is no background noise and no breaks that you can tell. Here tones are even as if she read the book all at one setting. I have listened to a few from this author and have enjoyed every book she has narrated.
The author gives you a wonderful story of people from different lifestyles who come together to make a family as they fight the "others" it is a toss up to who the winner will be. No matter who wins so much will be lost. The author gives out more details as she builds up the series but is still holding her cards close to her chest. She has answered a few questions only leaving you with more unanswered. This is sure a puzzle that the pieces do not fit. I have my guesses but I could be way off base. I can't wait to see how Rachel plays in all of this, There is so much mystery over why her mother will not talk about her parents and what about Rachel's birth? Something is way off there and I want some answers as does Rachel.
I really enjoy these characters as the serve and protect each other. They have built a wonderful home as they bring all the strange into it they have built a family. I cannot wait to see where the author takes this book with the next installment we will be going into the labs. I can't not wait to see what they are like and what all is in there. I guess you could read this as a standalone but I fear you would be lost even with the author giving some background from the first book. I am really hooked on this series. If you are looking for a book that is different and not like others of this nature give this series a try.

Be Mine
by Isobelle Cate
My Review
5 Stars
This books starts off a little slow but when it takes off it takes off with a bang. You have to people who have been hurt and betrayed in the worse way. Both have trust issues as they have build up walls around their heart. As they come together and finally fine happiness working through their issues you would think life would come up roses. In this case you have an ex who will not let go, a father who wants his son, a sister who just wants to get to know her brother. Just as you think you worked out one issue the author throws a twist you do not see coming. Before you know it you are hooked on a page turning read you can't put down.
Gracie is a wonderful sweet lady who just wants a normal life. She runs into a man who knocks the breath right out of her. He then more or less stalks her until she gives him her attention. She fights the pull as the attraction is strong, it isn't long before she finds she is fighting a losing battle.
Luke is a love them and leave them man who never sleeps with the same women twice. He is bored with life and looking for something more. When he runs into Gracie and almost knocks her down all it took was one look into her eyes and he was hooked. There is no way this woman is getting away from him. He follows her home and makes her give him her attention. One thing leads to another as he rocks her world.
This is where things gets interesting as the author puts a little suspense into the read. Things might now be as they seem. People want things and they will take them anyway they can get them. They use people twist things to their way of thinking. Just as the cards look like they might be staked in Luke and Gracie's favor they find the cards are about to fall down all around them. Can love keep them together or will life pull them apart?
This is a very interesting read as the author gives you a wonder story of lose, criminals, heartbreak, starting over and learning to love again. She gives you some very steamy heated love scenes that will burn up the pages and make you blush. For me once this book took off I could not put it down and had to read it at one setting. I love this authors writing style as she gets your blood pumping between your love scenes and her wonderful suspenseful plot. This is one story I would enjoy reading again.

Now a widow and picking up the pieces after the death of her husband, she delves into her work, seeking a new normal, until she bumps into a handsome stranger who derails her orderly life, completely.

All I Need Is You
By Wendy S. Marcus
My Reivew
4 stars
All I Need Is You is about two people trying to out run their past and starting over. They come together as pen pals reaching out in some very steamy emails that give them each what they need to hold on through some very trying times. The author gives you a sexy dancer and a military hero with a wonderful sense of humor that will keep you smiling as she takes you through the rebuilding of their lives. The author gives you a very emotional read with characters that you will enjoy hanging out with. Things get pretty complicate as they get out of hand due to misunderstanding. You have two very strong will people who will have to learn to bend. Each drive the other up the wall as they use humor and love to bring them down.
Neve has some trying time as she grew up finding out things she wish she had not. She worked hard to make her family proud. She played just as hard which now leaves her life in complications. She is a wild card for sure with wild ways. Just as she decides she needs to leave the bad girl image behind she finds it isn't as easy has it should be. She decided to surprise Rory on his leave by making one of his fantasies come true she comes face to face with a angry women who said she is his fiancée. All the screaming bring the whole family running with parts sticking out that should not be and Rory on the floor in pain from a well kick to his private parts from Neve as she turns and runs out. She doesn't give Rory time to explain what she heard isn't true.
With Rory finally home for good he goes to set things right with Neve. She isn't having anything to do with it. Issues bring things to a head as they find out they need the other to help them get through some trying times. Neve is the only one who can pull Rory out of his flashbacks and Rory is the only one who can help her through her illness. They will have to get over their trust issues before they can even think about making a life together that is if they want one.
With both these characters being alpha they do a lot of head butting as sparks fly and tempters rise. I enjoyed the read as I felt the author did an outstanding job giving us the readers a very touching, exciting read. I really love all the characters in this story each brought so much to the read. After reading the first book in this series which I loved I couldn't wait to read this one. The author didn't let me down with her outstanding writing style that reaches in and grabs your heart. I loved the humor as these two battle it out to get their way only to find out what the missing link has always been is the love they have for each other.

My Review
This is a standalone read a story filled with a lot of drama and ex's who want the good doctor back. Women who will go to extreme links to get what they want. Ellie is a wonderful sweet character who wants to learn as much as she can. Her true dream is to help children. When she was offered the job in the states she decided to give it a try. On starting her new job she runs into the head nurse who doesn't like her. When things start to heat up with Dr Julien the head nurse decides to cause trouble. Once the fall out happens she just won't give up. She isn't the only women that comes out of the woodwork that has a past with the good doctor.
Julien is a nice sweet character who uses and throws women away like dish water. Somehow the person he is just doesn't work with the character in the book for me. The books starts with him coming off as an womanize but I just do not get this feel from him. For me he just wasn't an alpha male there was no take control. Not much head butting as you get with an alpha.
I really didn't feel much chemistry or sexual tension between the two main characters. I do not feel the pull that I have in other books. This is not to say this wasn't a good story or plot because it was. With reading the book description I just didn't get that out of the book. I did enjoy the read it isn't a book I would want to read again but was an interesting read and I am not sorry I read it.
The author does give some heated love scenes that are a high heat level. I have to say this was a pretty good read. For me the author just didn't not pull me in and take over my mind. She does give a wonderful HAE which will touch your heart. The characters are sweet, caring and loving. Again this is just my thoughts please pick it up and give it a read. The reviews on this are wonderful which leaves me thinking I must have missed something somewhere along the way.

About the Author
I live just outside London, UK. For as long as I can remember, I've always been a bookworm - sometimes hiding from my siblings in my younger days, just so that I could devour another chapter in peace!
I am happily married, with two kids. When I'm not being mum, you can find me tapping away on my laptop or with my Kindle in hand - for research purposes, of course. ;)
I love reading romance books - there's nothing like your characters ultimately getting their happily-ever-after, once they have weathered through their trials and tribulations. Life can be tough and it's great to escape into a land of make-believe, every now and then.
I cherish my family who are all incredibly supportive of my writing; I can only hope that I live up to their expectations!

The Mistress of Tall Acre

My Review
Being from Virgina myself this book caught my attention. The author has an outstanding plot which she keeps interesting as she spins a tell of one man going off to war leaving a wife and daughter behind. Many years later he finds out his wife has died and his daughter is living with her family. On his return the family will not give him his daughter so he goes in the dead of night and takes her away. His wife's family wants her back, men are seen watching the home. To keep his daughter he needs a wife he marries the lady next door who needs his help to keep her land. When things are starting to work out for them a lady from the past comes home and throws their world into a tail spin.
Sophie is a sweet and caring lady when her family turns on the states she is left alone to try to make the best of it. She is giving and wants to do best by those around her. It is little wonder why the General falls in love with her. She takes his child as her own and gives his life new meaning. Helps run his home taking care of the staff as they are family. Just as she has it all she is about to lose it when his first wife comes home. I really liked this character she is a truly lady who puts others first and herself last. She is one character I was glad to see a happy ending for.
Seamus has been through so much having fought a war being away from home for so long. With the war ending he finds his wife is dead, his daughter doesn't know him and his wife's family will not let him have her. He takes her only to find they are willing to fight to keep her. He does what is best finding a new wife to keep all that is his in return helping Sophie keep what is hers. Just when life is coming up roses his first wife appears wanting him back. He just found a love like no other and is about to lose it all. The General is a man of honor who has lost a lot in this war. He never thought he would find another lady to love now Sophie and his daughter is his world and he is about to lose it all. He is just a strong loving man what is there not to like about this character. Any women should be proud to call him her own.
The author gives you a well told story just a little long in places. It wasn't a story that kept me spellbound but one I did enjoy. She does throw in a few twists and turns to keep the story interesting. For me this book moved a little slow and at times I found my mind wondering but I was pulled back in as things came to a head with family issues. It isn't a story I would want to reread but one I enjoyed and was glad I had read. The author throws in a little mystery to keep the book entertaining. If you enjoy historical romance this one is well worth your time.

Book Description
The American Revolution is finally over, and Sophie Menzies is starved for good news. When her nearest neighbor, General Seamus Ogilvy, finally comes home to Tall Acre, she hopes it is a sign of better days to come. But the general is now a widower with a small daughter in desperate need of a mother. Nearly destitute, Sophie agrees to marry Seamus and become the mistress of Tall Acre in what seems a safe, sensible arrangement. But when a woman from the general's past returns without warning, the ties that bind this fledgling family together will be strained to the utmost. When all is said and done, who will be the rightful mistress of Tall Acre?

My Review
I have to say I am so hooked on this series, each book is just as good or better than the last. I love this authors writing style and her imagination. The characters give so much not only to each other but to us the readers as they take us on a wonderful journey into their pack as they go through their every day lives and trials to be the best pack they can be. As you find in this pack not everyone is for the pack and what is best. Rules are broken women are cut to the bone as they are little more than slaves. It takes one man coming to a small town turning it on it's ear to stir things up and hopefully get it back to the way things should have been done to start with. The author gives you a wonderful story which includes heartbreak, death, hurt and pain as she bring the characters to their true meaning and gives them hope for a better life.
Come take a step back in time as you read about things you would have seen many hundreds of years ago. It seems that Gold Gulch needs to move up to more modern times. This town is a tourist attraction that keep the Victorian lifestyle alive only they never get out of it even when the tourist go home. These wolvers want to keep their women out of the loop making them believe they cannot think for themselves. Women can't own property and have little or no money. The men of the pack control everything keeping the little women busy cleaning and cooking why the man live it up.
Rachel has had enough she will not let any man control her. She doesn't every plan on finding a mate, she likes her life just the way it is. Well not just like it is but the best she can have it that is until the sheriff comes to town and makes her heart beat a little faster. She starts thinking things she shouldn't as her wolf comes out to play.
You know whatever Eugene Begley, has his hand into there is going to be some tempters rise and some hearts beating to their own beat. He has a way of matching wolvers up and I do believe he gets a kick out of setting back watching the sparks fly.
Challenger is sent to this small town to find out what the problem is. Things just aren't adding up as the birth rate is down and no one seems to every smile. The women are old before their time and the town doesn't seem to be making much money. Challenger has his hands full not only with the town and their people but finding out what is going on and putting it right. Not to mention Rachel who he can't help but make that red hair tempter glow.
What the author brings to the table is one well told story full of humor, sparks, passion, danger and lot of tempters flying. Ms. Rhoades gave me a tale of a wonderful story that I have come to expect from her writing. Before you are through you yourself will believe in wolvers, packs and honor as the woman rebel and raise some tempters as they bring the bad wolvers down and get their town back. I love the characters some are just busy bodies why others just keep you laughing. The author brings the reader passionate love scenes as she keeps you guessing what will happen next. I can't wait for the next one it looks to be as good as this one. You really should give this author a try I am sure you will love her wolvers as much as I do.

The best I can give this is a 4 star for the story a 4 for the narrator since I feel the author wanted it this way. Giving these stars as above but I still have issues...

My Review
I thought this was an interesting story with lots to get into. I do feel I would have enjoyed it more if I had read it and not listened to the audio. The author does have a wonderful imagination and the story is believable. I did have a problem with some of the curse words at the beginning and thought this was the way the whole story would be. The author does calm that down which make it a more enjoyable listen. The author gives you a story of a one nightstand where the lady isn't happy with this. Since she is a witch she turns him in to a cat and the story goes on from there with him trying to get his old self back and the lady who doesn't have a clue helps him as the witch tries her best to keep him a cat and hopefully dead soon.
As the audio takes off I found the narrator to be very good but after a while it just seemed every character whined. For me that was a little bit to much whining. If this is how the author meant for the story to be taken than the narrator did an outstanding job of the narration. I did feel she brought life to the characters. I just feel I would have liked this book better if I had read it. Which is usually the other way around. Beside the book being to whining I thought the narrator did a good job. I heard no back ground noise in the audio, there were a few times I could tell she had taken a break and restarted. But all in all not a bad audio if you can get past all the characters whine. I would like to listen to another book from this narrator to see if this is her style or the way the book was written.
As for the story it's self I didn't understand why the need for masturbation. I thought that was out of place. The rest of the story was very interesting as Dimitri found his self turned into a cat with the hope of getting nine lives. If the witch has her choice he won't get past one. This is a hard book for me to review as I look back over the story all I can hear is the whining of each character. I may try reading the book and see if that will help my review any. I thought the narration a 3, all over I am going to give it a 4 because I kind of feel the author really wanted the characters to whine. The story I will give a 4 since I thought it was interesting even though I had a few issues which I thought were either not needed or were to much. The author gives a story that most likely could pull you in if you had read it and not listened to it.
I do have to say I am sorry but this was not a win win listen for me. I can't say there were not part I didn't enjoy because there was. As an audio it isn't one I would want to listen to again. I really hate to say that but it is true. Give the book and the audio a try do not let my thoughts stop you from picking it up. We all cannot enjoy the same thing.

When Mave, the witch who cursed Dimitri, discovers that the curse she placed on him is breaking, she goes to great lengths to stop him from becoming human once again.

Right By Your Side (Martin Ranch #1)
by Christi Snow
My Review
Ms. Snow gives you what you come to expect a very emotional outstanding love story. I do not think there are many topics she doesn't hit on in this story with a wonderful outstanding plot spins of action, mystery, love, with many twists and turns I doubt you will be able to guess who the killer is. She gives you a compelling story of best friends, family as they go through so very heart breaking times. She lays the passion on between Scott and Sky about half way through they start burning up the pages. Ms. Snow pulls you in and hooks you with her amazing writing talent.
Skye is burned out she has been on tour for a year, her record label are making demands she doesn't want to give. All she wants is some rest until they can come up with a compromise. Deciding the best way to get that rest is to take the bus home. They say everything happens for a reason the outcome good and bad as Skye finds out when the bus crashes leaving one dead and the other almost she has to rethink how think her life and how things are going to be done. As her record label pushes her and her best friend is majorly hurt and is put into a comma she turns to the one man who saved the day helping her in her hour of need. Skye is a sassy little thing who won't be pushed, she has trust issues, family issues along with best friend issues. Nothing is as it should be as her life keeps getting crazier. Her best friend has been her life since she was young. If she loose him what will she do, she isn't about to let that happen. She is a sweet lady with so much to give the right man if only she would let him in. She forms a fast friendship with Scott as she leans on him for comfort and he swears to protect her.
Scott has lost a lot through his years, he is still trying to get his life back in order. Losing his mother at a young age and than a brother not too long ago has been a trying time for the family. Things aren't looking to good for his younger brother who has gone wild. If his hands isn't full enough with family problems he comes across Skye bus torn into pieces. As he pulls her and her friend out of the crash he finds here is the woman he has been dreaming about. Once he finds out there is a killer after her he doesn't let her out of his sight. The attraction is strong but he has a job to do first he must keep her safe and hope maybe love will come. Scott is one hunky male who is just every woman’s dream. He knows when to give space even when he does not want to. He is just a wonderful loving family man with a lot of baggage.
Both of these two will have to get over their issues and all the misunderstanding before they can even think about more than friends. As the days past Skye's world is torn more in to as she finds out things she really didn't want to know. She turns to Scott as he turns to her they take comfort from the other as they find life is easier when you have the right one by your side. Both wishing this were turn as they find out it takes more than love to keep that right one by your side.
The author covers a lot of issues in this book, this is a very emotional read it goes through each characters trying life. She touches on gay and bisexual relationships how that affected the characters. It is not in depth but just touched on as to make the story more interesting. There will be one book in this series that will hit on it hard. I do have to say this isn't my genre but having gotten to know the characters in question I am very much looking forward to their story.
The author gives you down to earth characters with real life issues you can relate to. This is the second book I have read of this author which had me hook as much as the first read. I am so looking forward to seeing where she takes each of these characters as this series takes off. With this book being the first of the series I can only image how good the rest of this series will be. Ms. Snow knows how to get into the depth of the story as she reaches for the readers heart pulling you in and keeping you guessing to the outcome. Even with the few hints she gives I would have never have worked out the killer. She gives you a compassionate compelling read that will have you pulled in as she hooks you with the plot throwing in some very steamy love scenes. For anyone who does not care for the gay and bisexual relationships this is not something that is gone into in depth just talked about it shouldn't be a problem. It does add and bring so much to the story as the author throws another twist into the read. If you are looking for a story that keeps you on your toes and keeps you guess this is the one for you.
There is humor, tears, love and laughter as the author gives you an outstanding plot of pain, sorrow, love why these families find their way through some very trying times. I found this to be a wonderful read that I plan on reading again. There was nothing I did not like about this story. I adored all the characters, loved the plot and the twist keep me turning the pages. I stayed up late into the night until I could not keep my eyes open. This is one series you are not going to want to miss.

by Christi Snow
The Big Girl's Guide to Buying Lingerie (Bluebonnet Texas)
by Amie Stuart
My Review
It took me a little while to get into this book. About 30 percent through is when it took off for me and became a wonderful read. The author gives you a great plot with some wonderful funny characters living day to day lives. Rowdy is something with his charm he could charm the fur off a wild cat. Jade is a girl like most of us she just comes from a richer class which you can't tell unless you get around her snob of a mother. Jade and Rowdy are two people who know each other and can't stand the other. Both go on the net joining a group and start chatting together, they have some hot and heavy chats neither knowing who they are really talking to until the day they agree to meet. This is where it gets interesting as they take another look at the other and find there are things they do like. As the author takes the story to the next level things get very complicated and very humorous.
For most heavy set people being fat can be a big issue the author gives you a story that most of us can relate to from meeting for the first time to having to remove your clothes in front of a hot guy. Jade knowing she will never be the perfect six 6 that her mother wants her to be leaves home and moves on in her life. She builds a great life which doesn't include her family. Going home for her birthday she is back into a corner telling her mother that she has a man in her life. She must now prove it, the lies build she most come face to face with how she feels about herself and how others truly see her.
I really like Jade as a character she learns there is more to live as she grows to except herself. She learns to take better care of herself as she learns she can be herself not what her mother wants of her. Jade is funny, smart and a normal person just like you and I. Jade is really ashamed of letting herself go and she thinks she isn't good enough in a lot of ways. As she comes out learning to dress better and be herself she grows as a person. Not all men want a size 6 some want a lady with tons of curves. I love her humor and the mess her mouth and actions it get her into.
Rowdy is a great character as he shows Jade just how great she is. He has his hands full with her mother along with his own family issues. He hasn't had the best life which has put him off relationship. He only does one nights that is until Jade gets her hands on him, now he is rethinking about his life and just how well Jade fits in it. He needs to turn the tables on this hot little mess and get her to see things his way. First he must clean up the his messy life, then lay his cards down to get the women he wants.
Jades mother better know as Judge or HH is a very snobby lady. I really do believe she wants what is best for her daughter just goes about it wrong. The author does give you a look at how she use to be but we do not find out what changed her to the women she is today. Her, Jade and Rowdy have some very heated talks. I am not sure they will ever work out their issues. Jade father is a sweet as well as her brother who likes to call her fat names. Rowdy isn't to happy about the name calling as he gives the family a few facts. You can bet when this family comes together sparks will fly as tempters rise.
I found this book to be a delight of humor, serious as the characters deal with family and the over weight issue. The characters are just normal people which have family issues along with have a past they would like to forget but much face it head on. It is a well rounded book with some very steamy scenes that will make you blush. I always wondered if you could do it on a horse well I found my answer. The author gives a very sweet read with a ton of sass as people bump heads more than once to make it a wonderful read. I am looking forward to reading more in this series from a author who takes issues which are painful and turn them around. I have to be honest I was going to rate this a 4 but about half way through the author pulled me in to a book I could not put down. I love the humor and this writing style where you meant head on saying what you think.

Book Description
My name is JADE BALLARD, and this is the story of how a freak accident with a cookie changed the life of a semi-reformed people-pleaser (that’s me!).
After a disastrous marital near-miss Jade Ballard retreats to San Antonio, cutting herself off from the world in general and more specifically her family’s country club lifestyle, which she no longer wants any part of. She takes comfort in food and the safety of an internet love affair.
Rowdy Yates is a semi-reformed womanizer who’s leery of long-term entanglements. Until Jade, he never seriously considered anything beyond a “Wife-For-A-Night.”
After months of flirting on the internet the couple meets, only to discover they already know one another. Rowdy has always mistaken Jade’s shy reserved nature for snobbishness, and Jade has always viewed the woman-loving Rowdy as a Redneck Casanova. But the seven months they spent getting to know one another formed an attraction neither can fight.
About the Author
Warning: If you're expecting me to write something serious here, you will be disappointed.
I can't say I'm one of those writers who always KNEW they wanted to be a writer. Nor could I say I've been doing it all my life, though I did find some old notes I wrote my mom eons ago-I think I was five. My how time flies.
Growing up, I wanted to be a lawyer and a psychologist-obviously I've seen the light, though to be honest, I've never settled down into any career until I started writing. I've worked fast food, as a receptionist, an office manager (in a daycare that gets me bonus points), delivered pizza, did a stint at Wally World as a cashier, and was a hairdresser for five years (oh the stories I could tell). And that's just the stuff I got paid to do! These days I file stuff, answer phones and tweak websites to put food on the table--this is important when you have a kid in college--and write in my spare time.
I figure it was all training for the writing gig. That and all those Barbara Cartland romances I cut my teeth on.
I don't drink beer (why would I when God gave us Vodka?) and I don't like football, but don't tell the Powers that Be or they might revoke my Texas Citizenship. And I say y'all but never y'all all, cause that's just wrong.
Last but not least, I'm a storyteller and a writer, and I'm here to entertain you.
***
Pets: Um four. I have no idea how this happened. Six if you count the kids.
Books: WAY too many. I have no idea how this happened either. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
What do you read for fun: Pretty much anything!
What would you be doing if you couldn't be a writer? Be a professional sleeper. You can get paid for that, right?
Who is your favorite basketball team? Hmm if you ask my kids, it's UT (that's Longhorns not Tennessee), but truthfully I'm a longtime North Carolina fan.

Rayne's Thunder (Part Three): The Politician and The Witches (Dating a Werewolf Series)
By Jami Brumfield
My Review
The quest continues as Rayne moves on to the next one on the list a very sweet and gentleman who has all the right moves until he puts a twist on it. With no hopes of a mate they go back to the list deciding to get it over with a mating game with every male her father gave her. A few past contenders show up and one wants a second chance. Storm is still not happy and shows his alpha self off throwing his weight around.
The author gives you a wonderful short read that grabs your attention with a page turner. She throws in enough passion to keep you interested along with a few twists and turns. The characters you love are back as they move on to find out what the plan is to keep River from being the alpha wolf and taking over this fathers pack. This was well written wonderful read that has me hooked on this series. They have been fighting a battle on finding their mates as their fathers will states they have one year to mate or they lose everything. There are people who do not want to see this happen as you find out in the story when they throw walls up at every turn to stop any of them from reaching their goal. If they can just stop one of them the others have won. It might even come down to a fight to the death before either sides gives in. If one of the three dies the will cannot be completed. I do not put this past the enemy to win the game they are playing.
The characters are well liked and believable. Before you know it the author sucks you into this read as she gives you an outstanding plot. Rayne is growing up and learning so much about herself and her desires. There is a mystery man that comes to her in her dreams we will be meeting soon. Those are some hot little scenes. My money is still on Storm I believe with the passion these two have for each other he will end up the winner or die trying. I am off to start book 4 of the delightful fun read.

Rayne's Thunder (Part Two): The Veterinarian (Dating a Werewolf Series)
By Jami Brumfield
4 Stars
My Review
This takes off where the last one left off touching on the past for those that have had sometime between reads. Rayne is dating the second man on her list who is overpowering control freak. She needs someone who will let her be who she is not control her. Storm is very much in her thoughts as she relives a free things in the past she has forgotten about him making her wonder why she every hated him to begin with. With Rayne being a very strong character she has now learned to follow the alpha and listen. It is a pleasure to see her grow as a person learning to control her wants. I think their father was wise and has picked the one person they should mate. By giving them a list I think he may have given them a clue as to who they didn't want with all roads leading to who they truly will love passionately. Thus doing as he wanted all along mating with his chosen one.
They author bring in new characters as well as old ones giving you a delightful read but still not answering to many questions. In this one the human is taken they must find her and find out who and why she was kidnapped. The plot is believable as the author gives you characters you enjoy getting to know. I am really enjoying this series as I start book 3 knowing the author has a wonderful tale to lead me into a page turner.
Book Description
Dating a werewolf can get a little hairy, literally and metaphorically. Rayne Manchester's suitors learn this pretty quickly. Rayne and her siblings, Rhyme and River, have been through a lot lately, and the loss of their father only added more fuel to the firestorm that is their lives.
Grief offers a subtle salve to the drama that eats up their existence and leaves them spinning like a tornado, but when their uncle reads their father's last will and testament they discover things are only going to get worse. The will divides the massive estate equally, but there is one catch; all three must be mated and married one year from their father's death. If even one of them fails in this mandate, none of them will inherit! Estranged, the siblings will now be forced to help each other.
Rayne's Thunder is Rayne Manchester's journey toward finding a mate and walking down the aisle. Upcoming, Rhyme's Reason and River's Fire are River and Rhyme's stories to happily ever after.
In Rayne's Thunder, Part Two: The Veterinarian of the Dating a Werewolf Series, Rayne returns home from college to find her mate. River has chosen her second suitor, Lincoln, a veterinarian from a neighboring pack. Disaster strikes when Chloe (Rayne’s best friend) is kidnapped. Watching a person deal with pressure can reveal a lot. Will these two find love together or will their spark fizzle out before it even begins?
Immerse yourself in this series, the characters, and their world. They're waiting for you to join them on their adventure.
This series can be read out of order, but is far more enjoyable in order. Each installment will serve up romance, suspense, intrigue, and action.

My Review
I am working my way through another outstanding box-set. Don't you just love box-sets where you get a taste of so many wonderful author that you may have not have read before? There is nothing like getting so many different genres in one set you have Cowboys, rock stars, hockey players, shifters, vampires and so much more! At the time of this post it is only 0.99 for 11 books you can't beat that, grab it now on release day it will go to 3.99.
Longing for Langston (Mavericks of Meeteetse Prequel) by Renee Vincent
This was a wonderful heartbreaking romance about two best friends who loved each other but neither know it. One wants a dream in country music they other would do anything to make that dream come true.
Brody is your bad boy in every way, in some way he might need to grow up a little. I just love him and it breaks my heart to see his breaking. He wants what is best for Olivia he just wishes it would include him. The way he is going that just isn't going to happen.
Olivia is a sweetie who just wants to break it big in Nashville and if she could have Brody as her one and only that would be wonderful as well. Brody has always looked after her, been there for her and has been the love of her life for as long as she can remember. Things might just be looking up for these two but at what cost.
I really liked this story it was a very short touching read which sets this new series off with a bang. After reading this you will want to pre-order the next book in this series to find out what happens to this couple. The author gives a wonderfully written short story of the start of her new series. It is a very touching read that will have you hook as she gives you so very heated hot scenes. I guess you could say it has a cliffhanger but it is a prequel to this authors new series "Made For McKinely" This is one read that can't wait for this series to start. There is nothing that gets your heart as someone loving someone they can't have. Each of this series of Ms. Vincent will be a standalone but if you like me you won't be able to stop at just one. I believe I might have found another author I am going to come to love.
I was given Longing for Langston (Mavericks of Meeteetse Prequel) by Renee Vincent for an honest review. Thank you so much for letting me read this before it was released. I LOVED IT.
I have ordered my box-set just waiting for it to come out so I can finish reading the rest of this set.

Undercover Bride

My Review
I totally enjoyed this humorous read which I could not put down, I ended up staying up to 3 in the morning until I could not keep my eyes open anymore. I found it to be a very intriguing with Maggie being a Pinkerton detective and all the messes she gets into trying to help raise a very strong willed boy who's mind is ahead of his time can be trying. Maggie agreed to become a mail-ordered bride to catch the team who stole the money two years ago from a train all leads go back to one man her attend. What she finds is a truly wonderful family man that she finds hard to believe he would have taken the money. With two adoring children, one aunt that has moved the wedding up within weeks of the time of her arrival she must work fast to find the guilty person.
This is one author that had me laughing out loud at all the mishaps this family gets into. The aunt is a mess that will keep you laughing as she pushes forward the date to marry these two off. She has more pains an aches than a person should have with one foot in the grave her time on earth isn't long. You are so going love her and her nosy ways. Toby is a delightful young boy who gets his self in to messes as he has plans to go to the moon that will keep you in stitches waiting to see what he comes up with next.
Garrett is a wonderful man who just wants a wife to help take care of his family. He doesn't care if it is a marriage in name only that is until he sets eye on Maggie. It really is hard to believe this wonderful caring family man could be a killer and train robber. He has had a hard life, at one time he had big plans until war broke out. It changed his life forever as he comes home a broken man. He marries only to lose his wife one night in a storm. Two years later he is ready to move on into a marriage with no love. It is the safes things he never wants to feel that lost again. When Maggie turns up she rocks his world and shakes his life up from the moment he sets eyes on her. His life is about to change in more ways than one.
Maggie is such a go getter as she takes on man after man to bring the bad man home. She has always brought her man in as she serves justices. She and her partner make a great team as the work to find the person responsible for robbing the train. Just everything isn't falling into place as easy as it should. With this new case she must put all her acting skills to work as she finds she is falling for this crazy wonderful family. She is finding it hard to believe such a man could be a killer. Maggie is a lovely character who has a trying past that keeps pushing her to be the best detective she can be. When the time comes to bring Garrett in will she be able to or will her new found love for him and his family get in his way?
I love the mystery and the plot as the author spins a wonderful tale and gives a very funny read that keeps you turning the page. The author gives you at times a very emotional read with characters you cannot help but love. I found it to be very well written as the author shows why she is a bestselling author as she gives you a delightful Christian read. This is the first time I have read anything by this author and it sure will not be the last. She keeps her readers very entertained as she gives you a story you won't be able to put down.
Book Description
Pinkerton detective Maggie Cartwright has no intention of walking down the aisle. But her current case has Maggie posing as a mail-order bride for widower Garrett Thomas, the prime suspected in the Whistle-Stop Bandit robbery.
No sooner does Maggie arrive in Arizona Territory when she’s confronted with his meddlesome aunt who insists the two set an early wedding date. With the clock ticking Maggie sets to work to uncover the truth.
Maggie is nothing like the widower Garrett Thomas expected from her letters. But he’s immediately smitten with the blue-eyed beauty and feels the need to protect her, not only from his aunt, but also from the ugliness of his past.
As the day of the wedding draws near, Maggie begins to panic. The investigation may be progressing but the real problem is that the more she gets to know Garrett and his two adorable children, the harder it is to keep up the deception.
Can a man as kind and gentle as Garrett really be the Whistle-Stop Bandit? Or has the possibility of a home, family and a handsome husband blinded Maggie from seeing the truth?
Glossary of Mail Order Bride Advertising Terms (And What They Really Mean)
My June release Undercover Bride is a mail-order bride story with a twist. Some of the advertisements that appeared in the mail order bride catalogs were a hoot and it took a clever man to know how to decipher them. Here’s a key that might have helped :
* Eager to learn—can’t cook; can’t sew; can’t clean
* Accomplished—can ride, shoot and spit like a man
* Modest dowry—poor as a church mouse
*Loving nature—keep her away from the ranch hands
*Traditionally built—you may wish to reinforce the floors
*Matrimonially inclined—working on husband number three
*Maternal—has six children and one on the way
*Possesses natural beauty—don’t be fooled by the false hair, cosmetic paints or bolstered bosom
*Industrious—give her a dollar and she’ll figure out how to spend ten
*Young looking—doesn’t look a day over sixty.
*And they lived happily ever after—AND THEY LIVED HAPPILY EVER AFTER.

Meet the Author
Thrills, mystery, suspense, romance: Margaret penned it all. Nothing wrong with this, except Margaret happened to be writing for the church newsletter. After making the church picnic read like a Grisham novel, her former pastor took her aside and said, “Maybe God’s calling you to write fiction.”
Margaret wasn’t sure if that was true, but she wasn’t about to take chances.. She now has more than 30 books to her credit–not bad for someone who failed eighth grade English. Just don’t ask her to diagram a sentence.
Happily married to her real-life hero, Margaret and her husband live in Southern California.

Margaret is a New York Times bestselling author and past Romance Writers of America RITA finalist with more than 30 novels to her credit. Not bad for someone who flunked 8th grade English. Just don't ask her to diagram a sentence.
“Exquisitely intriguing”
–Publishers Weekly Starred Review for Gunpowder Tea.
“A Lady Like Sarah is Margaret Brownley at her peak. A perfect blend of romance, the old west, and characters that steal your heart, along with writing that sings. A fabulous read. I laughed and cried and wished I could pick up the sequel immediately. Write faster, Margaret”
– (Lauraine Snelling author of the Red River of the North series:, www.laurainesnelling.com)
“Margaret Brownley has created two wonderful, unforgettable characters in Sarah and Justin. Their story held my interest from the start, and I couldn’t wait to find out if or how their love would overcome the obstacles set before them.
* Eager to learn—can’t cook; can’t sew; can’t clean
* Accomplished—can ride, shoot and spit like a man
* Modest dowry—poor as a church mouse
