Right By Your Side (Martin Ranch #1)
by Christi Snow

My Review
Ms. Snow gives you what you come to expect a very emotional outstanding love story. I do not think there are many topics she doesn't hit on in this story with a wonderful outstanding plot spins of action, mystery, love, with many twists and turns I doubt you will be able to guess who the killer is. She gives you a compelling story of best friends, family as they go through so very heart breaking times. She lays the passion on between Scott and Sky about half way through they start burning up the pages. Ms. Snow pulls you in and hooks you with her amazing writing talent.

Skye is burned out she has been on tour for a year, her record label are making demands she doesn't want to give. All she wants is some rest until they can come up with a compromise. Deciding the best way to get that rest is to take the bus home. They say everything happens for a reason the outcome good and bad as Skye finds out when the bus crashes leaving one dead and the other almost she has to rethink how think her life and how things are going to be done. As her record label pushes her and her best friend is majorly hurt and is put into a comma she turns to the one man who saved the day helping her in her hour of need. Skye is a sassy little thing who won't be pushed, she has trust issues, family issues along with best friend issues. Nothing is as it should be as her life keeps getting crazier. Her best friend has been her life since she was young. If she loose him what will she do, she isn't about to let that happen. She is a sweet lady with so much to give the right man if only she would let him in. She forms a fast friendship with Scott as she leans on him for comfort and he swears to protect her.

Scott has lost a lot through his years, he is still trying to get his life back in order. Losing his mother at a young age and than a brother not too long ago has been a trying time for the family. Things aren't looking to good for his younger brother who has gone wild. If his hands isn't full enough with family problems he comes across Skye bus torn into pieces. As he pulls her and her friend out of the crash he finds here is the woman he has been dreaming about. Once he finds out there is a killer after her he doesn't let her out of his sight. The attraction is strong but he has a job to do first he must keep her safe and hope maybe love will come. Scott is one hunky male who is just every woman’s dream. He knows when to give space even when he does not want to. He is just a wonderful loving family man with a lot of baggage.

Both of these two will have to get over their issues and all the misunderstanding before they can even think about more than friends. As the days past Skye's world is torn more in to as she finds out things she really didn't want to know. She turns to Scott as he turns to her they take comfort from the other as they find life is easier when you have the right one by your side. Both wishing this were turn as they find out it takes more than love to keep that right one by your side.

The author covers a lot of issues in this book, this is a very emotional read it goes through each characters trying life. She touches on gay and bisexual relationships how that affected  the characters. It is not in depth but just touched on as to make the story more interesting. There will be one book in this series that will hit on it hard. I do have to say this isn't my genre but having gotten to know the characters in question I am very much looking forward to their story.

The author gives you down to earth characters with real life issues you can relate to. This is the second book I have read of this author which had me hook as much as the first read. I am so looking forward to seeing where she takes each of these characters as this series takes off. With this book being the first of the series I can only image how good the rest of this series will be. Ms. Snow knows how to get into the depth of the story as she reaches for the readers heart pulling you in and keeping you guessing to the outcome. Even with the few hints she gives I would have never have worked out the killer. She gives you a compassionate compelling read that will have you pulled in as she hooks you with the plot throwing in some very steamy love scenes.  For anyone who does not care for the gay and bisexual relationships this is not something that is gone into in depth just talked about it shouldn't be a problem. It does add and bring so much to the story as the author throws another twist into the read. If you are looking for a story that keeps you on your toes and keeps you guess this is the one for you.

There is humor, tears, love and laughter as the author gives you an outstanding plot of pain, sorrow, love why these families find their way through some very trying times. I found this to be a wonderful read that I plan on reading again. There was nothing I did not like about this story. I adored all the characters, loved the plot and the twist keep me turning the pages. I stayed up late into the night until I could not keep my eyes open. This is one series you are not going to want to miss.

Book Description:
Best Female Country Artist. Sold out world-wide tour. Record-setting album sales. It’s been a stellar year for Skye Taylor and it’s left her exhausted. All she wants to do is go home to Oklahoma, curl up in her little house, and veg out in pj’s with a pile of junk food. But when her tour bus crashes in the middle of West Texas, her priorities suddenly shift. Now she’s sitting bedside hoping her best friend and bodyguard, KC, survives.

For Scott Martin, he simply wants this horrible year to end. After the murder of his brother, his family is falling apart. With one crisis after another pulling him back to the family ranch, he’s put way too many late night miles on his truck between his family home and Lubbock, where he works as a paramedic. When he comes upon the wrecked tour bus, he has no idea this is one emergency which will change his life forever.

Skye and Scott quickly form a friendship which hints at possibilities of more. But as these two dodge paparazzi, over-zealous label executives, and stalker fans, they soon discover that everything is easier when you have someone you trust RIGHT BY YOUR SIDE. And that becomes even more important when they discover the bus wreck wasn’t an accident…
