Looking for Love

Looking for Love

By: Barbara Goss
Narrated by: Tom Jordan
Series: Mail Order Misdeliveries, Book 2
Length: 3 hrs and 41 mins
Unabridged Audiobook
Release date: 10-10-17

What a terrifying situation Fiona finds herself in one that is a true nightmare. She only has one choice she can make that is to run and make a new life for herself and hope no one finds out what she has done. Along the way she meets a woman who is off to meet the man she has agreed to marry only one thing she isn’t meeting him but another who she truly is in love with. Talk about taking the money and run wow some woman will do anything to get what they want. Really I liked her as Fiona does, but she can’t help but feel sorry for the man left waiting for her and decides she will make a stop along the way to let him know that his bride isn’t coming. This is where the story gets very interesting as the plot thickens and emotions get in the way leaving one woman in need of a name change and one man who wants to have a family and love but is looking for it in all the wrong places. Emotions run high when Sam’s family gets into the mix making plans of their own leaving Fiona wondering which man she should choice or should she do some more running.

Mr. Jordan is a very talented narrator that I have come to love his work from the true emotions he gives his characters to his deep sexy male voice and his sweet females that are sassy, sweet and just darling. His performance is outstanding as he brings out the emotion each character is feeling. He paints a wonderful image in your mind as each scene plays you have no trouble picturing them as they unfold. If any breaks were taken I could not tell, there are no background noises, no volume change. There is one place where he does repeat a few words, I am guessing this is where he took a break, beside that if any other breaks were taken I could not tell. It is a very clean and clear audio that the narrator brings to life pulling on your heartstrings with such emotions I felt the pain and sorrow of each character as well as anger, excitement. His performance as always is outstanding.

There are a few twists and turns that I found to be thrilling, my heart broke for Fiona as she went from what she should do to what she wanted to do. The author gives great family values to this outstanding story listen that pulls you in. Sam is a wonderful man he wants one thing but his family wants another. He is going to have quite an awaking when his eyes truly comes open. The story takes another twist that leave Fiona on one road and Sam on the hunt for some answers. You just got to love the minister who puts a big twist in the works. Two men which should she choose, will one heart or both be broken and which one will win the love of Fiona or will they both lose. What about the trouble back home will it find her. I will say this the ending it outstanding there were times my heart was in my throat wondering how it would play out, but it does leave you with a big happy tear in your eye. I just loved this story it is so touching and delightful. Another win for this author with this delightful clean sweet read. For a short few hours it is so worth your time.

Silent Love

Silent Love
By: Barbara Goss
Narrated by: Kandace Peppers
Length: 4 hrs and 5 mins
Unabridged
Release date: 01-23-18
Language: English
Publisher: Barbara A. Goss

Oh my what a heartbreaking story of one women who lost her whole family but one cousin she is trying so hard to get to. She starts out on a wagon train only to have the daughter of the family she is traveling with get very sick. They can’t go on but she isn’t giving up so easy, she will stay and find another way. After many road blocks she has one last choice only to find the man she asked to be his cook turns her down. What is she to do now? They do finally decide on a way they can help each other only to find it isn’t as easy as they thought. Caroline will have to face issues she never has before, one learning how to cook on an open fire. You think it can’t be that hard but you are so very wrong, turn you back just for a minute and you can find charcoal. This is just one of many things these two will have to deal with.

The narrator is good although at times she pauses when she should not and doesn’t where she should have. I thought she gave the characters true emotion that was easy to feel. Her character voices were very good you knew who was talking and what they were feeling. Male and female voices were very nice.  There are no background noises and only one place that I could tell she repeated a word, my guess this is when a break was taken. I had to trouble feeling the pain Caroline went through trying to get to her family. The narrator’s normal voice is just as pleasant as her character voices. You could really hear the emotions from sadness to excitement. Except for the pauses she did a wonderful job and gives a very nice listen. I do look forward to hearing more of her work.

Caroline is strong, demanding and so caring, she takes things on the chin will give her last breath and still give another. Simon is a true gentleman he is caring, sharing and so giving. This does get him into trouble and way over his head at times. These characters are amazing how they give and take learning how to work together only to have their feelings go a little farther than they would have liked. I had no trouble at all feeling like I was part of this story walking the trail, picking up firewood or buffalo chips. I would have to agree with Caroline that is nasty lol. The story is very realistic and to some point I feel may have happened. It is a lovely Christian based sorry with soul and meaning giving the read some excitement, thrills and even a few heart stopping moments. Very well written with no filler just some very good old fashion romance as two people help each other towards a common goal. What happens along the way is delightful, fun and dangerous. It is a well balanced story with a little of everything in it. There are misunderstanding which lead them to have to work out some issues. People get in the way and some aren’t very nice. I did enjoy the characters and all that they bought to the story. I loved the faith the characters had not only in those around them but in God. The author knows how to pull you in giving you a very well written entertaining read that you can’t put down.  This is one of the best books the author has written, it is exciting, daring and cute along with sad, painful and at time bittersweet.

The Christmas Confection

The Christmas Confection (Hardman Holidays #6)
by Shanna Hatfield

The author bring you a wonderful story of danger, learning to deal with ones past, excitement with old fashion values that you only find from the west years ago. She spins a tale that will pull on your heart, making you talk to the characters and wanting to hold them close in their time of need. It really breaks your heart all Fred has to deal with from his past but at the same time brings you pleasure at his future.

Both Fred and Elsa are very strong people both really knowing what they think they want but what they find is they need to do some rethinking. This is a very believable story with great characters I fell in love with.  Elsa and her brother have a lot of things they will need to work out and get use to. They are having trouble finding that middle ground. Fred has a few secrets that Elsa doesn’t know about. Fred’s biggest problem is he thinks he isn’t good enough.  Yes he did some things in his younger days but he was just a teen. He holds his self away from Elsa and she knows it. She just doesn’t know how to get in and heal his wounds.

I loved Fred’s family they are fun, loving and so caring they gave me many smiles. Elsa brother is great just needs to learn what needs to come first. It is well writing I very much enjoyed it and the people between the pages.   There are a few twists and turns that will keep you on your toes along with some excitement, some heart stopping moments. The romance is nice sweet and clean just as cute as can be. It was a story that touched me in a very sweet way.

Timeless Pleasure

Timeless Pleasure

By: Sandra E. Sinclair
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly
Series: Timeless Hearts, Book 9
Length: 3 hrs and 37 mins
Unabridged
Release date: 10-26-17

I have totally enjoyed each book of this series going back in time finding your one true love has been an amazing series with Timeless Pleasure being a wonderful addition to it. The author throws in a little paranormal into the mix of a half Indian who had to leave his home because of what a jealous woman did many years ago. One man who has dreams of one woman for so many years that he does not even have to close his eyes to see her. This one woman can change his life make him normal giving him back his life and making him whole. He has given up hope of ever seeing her when he goes to town and looks down the street he can’t believe his eyes there before him is the women of his dreams. Can it be true? Can she set him free?  Does she know? Has she had the same dreams as him? So many questions with no answers in site.  If you enjoy time travel, Indians who has visions and true romance at its finest than you do not want to miss this one.

Ms. Kelly just gets better and better with each new narration she does, she has come so far from the first one I listened to. As I start listening I know there will be many smiles, laughs and maybe a few tears as she takes me on a journey bring to life a story that needs a voice only she can give. I have totally enjoyed Timeless Pleasure with her many different voices she gives live to the characters showing true emotions.  There are no background noise, no repeating of words, no volume changes. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. I love that I always know who is talking and what they are feeling with the powerful pull she gives her characters never leaving you guessing. I could hear the desperation in Bradley voice to just want to be normal, to find that one person who would be his other half.  The pain in Emily’s voice when she found out about her mother and how she helped with that down fall. The audio is very clean and clear giving you a delightful listen you get lost in.

I loved the mystery around Bradley, the not knowing even for him. I totally enjoyed how the author created the scenes with Emily and how she knew what to do. The danger of not knowing, the fear when the knowing becomes too real, it isn’t something I can talk about without giving the plot away just know the author pulls you in giving you one heck of a twist holding you spellbound. I really enjoyed getting to see past characters, getting to know how their lives had changed. The author really shows how the effect of you past holds the keys to your future. She gave closure to so many of the past characters in a way that really makes you smile. The past book is woven into this one in a way that is very pleasing to the read.  I loved the way she brought the horses into the story they play a very big part. Emily has a way with them that surprises so many. The opening where she time travels back in time and the way she deals with the first horse she sees is amazing. How she turns the tables when a sale goes wrong, how she deals with the fight and how she deals with Bradley and his issues is just delightful. I think this is my favorite so far. All of these books have touched me but this one goes way into emotions and finding peace that only true love can bring. I loved the twists and turns, the danger, excitement and the thrills that words just do not define, you have to read it to get the full effect of how touching this story is. From the narrator to the author they bring a timeless story that will stay with you for a long time to come.
