Black Tie Optional (Wild Wedding #1)
by Ann Marie Walker
I loved this authors writing style. I really enjoyed how she
wove the plot around her characters and made it fun to read. You wouldn’t
believe how much I laughed my way through this story. Once you start reading
you can’t put it down. Cole and Olivia are about as opposite as they come but
together they work great as they work through stalking, a wicked grandmother
who is out for herself, ex’s and family issues you will come to love this couple
as much as I have. I really could not wait to turn the page to see what
happened next as these two take Vegas by storm.
Cole must get married or loss all that his father before him
and he built leaving him with nothing. The lawyers have jumped the last wall
only to hit if face on. His grandmother is waiting in the wings rubbing her
hands together counting the money that is about to fall into her hands. He is
headed to a wedding party in Vega as he tries to iron out what his next step
will be.
Olivia wants to save an endangered species that Cole
is getting ready to tear up the land they call home. She has just about stalked
him for months trying her best to make him see the right of his wrong ways. He
is one sexy bullheaded man. She is taking a break to fly to Vegas with a friend.
I just wonder if what happens in Vegas will stay there. Let’s just say alcohol and
sexual tension mix well together as these
two hit the sheets and set them of fire.
This is where things get very
interesting when the night after find Cole needing a wife and Olivia wanting to
save the wing bats. Cole comes up with an idea with Olivia go for it? Olivia
makes one mistake after another the first being thinking Cole’s granny is just
a sweet old lady who Cole has made out to be the wick witch of the north. I
just adored Conor he and Cassie they kept the story moving with their outlook
on life and Conor’s big mouth saying the wrong things kept this a very interesting
read. Olivia parents are a delight I even like their pushy friend. Ms. Grant
she is a whole other pile of fish. I would have liked to see how the ending affected
her and if she decides to give in gracefully.
This is the first I have read of this
authors work but I enjoyed it so much I have pre ordered the next in this
series coming out in Dec. I really enjoyed the writing style, the thought the
author put into writing it and the humor that kept me laughing and on my feet.
I enjoyed how she brought a city boy to his knees on the country farm. I liked
how the romance builds, how they first found out they were in love with each
other, how the grandmother but up one road block after another, how they
overcome them and how it all played out. If you love romance and humor you have got to
read this romantic comedy. Be prepared to laugh out loud as the author takes
you through some wonderful scenes that keeps you hook from start to finish. I
enjoyed this so much I picked it for one of my favorite reads of the year.

Summary
Everything about Coleman Grant III oozes power and sex. And not the perfunctory kind either, but the sheet clawing, heart stopping, gasping for air after you’ve screamed so loud you can’t breathe kind. From his dark wavy hair that stands in an artfully rumpled mess, to the blue eyes that sear your skin, to his full, sensual lips - on the surface he’s pure perfection.
Too bad he's an asshole. An arrogant, uptight corporate raider hell bent on destroying the environment one species at a time.
Everything about Olivia Ramsey screams hippie humanitarian. From her blond hair tied in a sloppy bun, to her faded jeans with the Bonnaroo patch sewn on the thigh, to her combat boots still splattered with mud from the previous day’s site visit.
So it makes perfect sense that they would get married. In Vegas. Stone-cold sober.
Cole needs a wife. Olivia needs to save an endangered species. But what starts as a marriage of convenience soon turns into a battle of wills and sexual tension. Love is a game, and Olivia and Cole are ready to win.
