My Review
I listen to the first book in this series and was so hoping this one would be better. Since I promised the publisher I would listen to both audios I have and this does start out really good until they bring the cork out in church and plug her in front of the members. To really be able to relate to a book even of this type it must first be believable which this is not. Had there been cults back in this time period or even one family maybe it would be a believable story but a whole town that gets off on watching women being treated this way and do not even prepare them for this kind of treatment no way.

This is really a strange weird listen from start to finish. I really wish there was something positive I could post but I couldn’t find anything likeable about this audio. To take an untouched woman and make her stand nude before her brother in laws telling her how things are going to be and they will be helping him take care of her. NO NO they will not be having sex with you, you are all mine but they will be helping with the corks and things. Dom/Sub relationships are based on trust this story was not. First they have to drug their wives up their butts with corks and plugs to even get them in the mood to do the deed whenever the husband wants. Then they have to keep them drugged for the rest of their lives so they can do the deed whenever and wherever they want no matter whatever people might be around. There is no trust this is all about control and getting all they can get whenever they want by drugging the women his reply is I won’t do anything to hurt you or anything you do not like. You already did in church when she begged you not to. I found no romance in this story. This story is not believable yes it is fiction but it is not believable

David Beroff is a really good narrator and does some wonderful audios this just isn’t one of them. You can tell he just isn’t into this story as most of us are not. His tones are off there is no passion in his voice. I thought Rita Rush did a really good job of narration you can hear her surprise, pain and sorrow throughout the listen.

With that said it is just time to take my eyes somewhere else and close this series down. I am sure some will find this highly entertaining. There really is no story but controlling a women by embarrassing her. There is no equal agreement by two adults but men pushing women to do things that if they had a choice would not do.

I am not even going to post a by link

Overview

Tessa Bowers grew up in Liberty, Montana but never knew of the well hidden and very strict rules for married women. If she had, she might not have flirted and set her sights on the wealthy rancher, Cole Bridger.
Cole wasn't a man controlled by anyone, let alone the little spitfire trying to lure him to the alter. He decided who he married. He decided when. So when Tessa shows up for church one Sunday, she enters as Miss Bowers and leaves as Mrs. Bridger.
Right from the start, Cole dictates his expectations of Tessa, who quickly realizes married life is not as she imagined. Willful and disobedient, she fights against the humiliating and shameful things he demands. With the help of the town doctor, Cole begins to train Tessa to be the proper wife. It is a difficult task, but he'd waited years to tame her - mind, body and soul
