What I really loved about this is it starts where book 1 left off we got to see some wonderful characters with one that left an untold story. I was so glad when I picked this one up and started it to find out it was about Ryder. As you found out in the last one he was taken back to the past when he was very young. He has a hidden talent that is very surprising that the author really brings out as he goes from the past to the future. How much can a few year change he thinks as he is taken ahead a few years. What he finds really shocks him as he learns to deal with the changes he finds one lady that is Raven’s best friend. He has to make her understand what happen to her best friend as well as deal with his family and the past he remembers, and the future learning just how much of a talent he really has and what that will mean to the women he falls in love with.

Meghan Kelly really pulls out the characters as she goes through the paces the author gives. She really bought this story to life making it very easy to picture the scenes. Some were downright scary making my heart beat fast a time or two. I felt I was right there with them and held my breath to see the outcome. Her character voices are delivered with such emotion really breaking your heart as the two main characters come head to head chasing storms that could end their loves.  There were no repeat of words or any changes in volume, no background noises.  You have no trouble knowing what each character feeling or who is taking. Her tones are right on the money giving a very in depth feeling of emotion. Her female voices are just as great as her males, giving an in-depth deep voice or a smooth as sweet sexy one. This is a very clean, clear audio that is very realistic that you almost feel like you are watching a movie. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. She really delivers a highly exciting listen that kept me spellbound holding my breath, laughing and so glad when the thrill is over.

Ms. Sinclair really holds nothing back as she delivers and exciting, passionate, clean read that holds you spellbound. It was a story I couldn’t put down I had to find out what happen next. She gives you thrills, chills, smiles and a few hearts stopping moments. It broke my heart when Ryder meets his family, the author really pulls on your heartstrings. Oh the letters were so touching but very heartbreaking.  I was glad and sad at the same time. I loved how she brought the past to the future going into detail of the changes and how confusing they were. She explains things so easy filling in all the blanks. There were times I had to smile and even laugh but other times I was sad. So much to look forward to but so much left behind. When you close the book you are left with a feeling of hopes, dreams and a smile. But you still wish the friends could meet again. These couples make some very tough decisions when they travel in time. I loved each character how they deal and what they find out, just what is held back and for what reason. I think the most exciting was the storms how Ryder deals with them and the things they find out as well as the passion between them and the choices they make. I know I was on the edge of my seat, I had no trouble at all picturing the storms with my heart in my throat.  Loved it from start to finish. It was a great addition to the first book in the series. I can hardly wait for the next one and see how the authors blend the past stories into the new ones. I am so loving this series.

Amelia (The Brides of San Francisco Book 5)

Amelia (The Brides of San Francisco Book 5)
by Cynthia Woolf

My Review
There is nothing worse than wanting something so bad that you have to lie or tell half truths to get it. Amelia wants a family someone to love and take care of. She is willing to do just about anything to have it. Ms. Woolf brings you a wonderful plot of an entertainer who is willing to give it all up just to have her one dream come true. This has a wonderful plot with great characters you get lost in. There are a few twists and turns that keep you guessing as well as holding your breath for the outcome.

Amelia decides there is no one in NY she wants to marry, there is nothing worse than marrying another entertainer and have you both fight over the shinning lights. She has money of her own and wants a man who doesn’t need her money but wants her for herself. She decides to start over giving her mother the space she needs to grow and start another new marriage of her own. She has been a wonderful child taking care of her mother but now it is her time. Off she goes to a little town where a friend of her went as a mail order bride to meet the man she has agreed to marry. Things start off wonderful until she finds out about his mother. Knowing she cannot tell him she keeps her past a secrete knowing it will not go over well when and if he finds out.

Phillip has had a very hard life when his mother left them leaving him to raise all his brothers and sisters.  Once the farm wasn’t doing so well they decided to move out west to try a new life. Buying part of a mine was his last chance to have the money he needed to give his family what they needed. With his sister needing a female to teach her all the things he cannot he decides a mail order bride is best for him. No heart strings, have a wife, his own children and someone to help his sister life is good until her past come out and he can’t forgive the one thing she held back.

As is the norm things do not go as planned right from the start there are misunderstandings they are easy to overcome. The attraction is very strong they get married almost right away when she finds out what his mother did she knows if she wants a happy marriage she cannot tell him about her singing or there will be no marriage. As you know things have a way of coming out at the worse times whic causes a big up roar between the two. Amelia has fallen in love with her husband but he hasn’t with her. She feels lost, alone and about to hit rock bottom.  His old partner isn’t helping things with his demands and his plans. Will these two work out their differences or will the old partner break them up. It could be a fight to the death leaving one or both of them lost and alone.

This was really a heartbreaking story with Amelia wanting to be loved, wanting to be believed. What she gets is one demanding husband who is very angry that she has not only made a fool of him but lied to him. She said she didn’t lie and she isn’t going to say I am sorry. WOW these two are very bullheaded and neither will giving an inch. Heads butt over and over again leaving behind some very hurt feelings and so much loneliness.

I really enjoyed the plot it hooks you from the start and you get caught up in the twists and turns. There are a few times you hold your breath, along with a few times you want to tell Amelia to get over it but at the same time I have to admit I most likely would have been like she was. It has a wonderful ending and some truly outstanding scenes. There is a little humor, as well as a growing love with Amelia and her sister in law. To kind spirits they are.  I really liked how the attraction played out between Amelia and Phillip it was exciting, at times slow and easy and then fast jumping in with both feet. It was really nice to catch up with past characters that I came to love. It was wonderful to meet new ones knowing in future books you will get to know more about them. This was a delightful read that I had trouble putting down. The author gives you a few surprises as well as a little humor. There is a price to pay for everything as the ex partner learns. He really isn’t the sharpest rock in the river. This is a story about forgiveness, starting over, half truths, give and take, learning what is truly important. It really was a remarkable read that stays with you after you close the last page. I really love this series it has touched me in many ways as well as reminding me of what is important in my life.

Whispers on the Wind

Whispers on the Wind
by Caroline Fyffe

My Review
It did not take much for me to fall not only in love with this book but its characters. Mrs. Fyffe knows how to create a story that captivates you not only by the plot but its wonderful scenes and heroic characters. I was sucked in from the start with a plot you think you have it all worked out until this author throws a few major twists in your way giving romance a whole new meaning. You will be cheering Tabitha and Hunter on as they butt heads over and over again as they worm their way deep into your heart. What you will find in this delightful story are bad guys, good guys, saloon, cowboys, saloon girls, friends, family some nice and some not so nice, lies, secrets, hard times, good times, a kidnapping, fights, gun fights, lovely name calling that will make you laugh and so much more as this author entertains you with her very talented writing.

Tabitha is a woman after my own heart as she takes the bull by the horn going west to live her own life away from her controlling mother who has handpicked a man for her to marry. She isn’t happy with her pick and just wants to live her life reading and selling books. She finds what she is looking for in the wonderfully sweet town of Logan Meadows where her aunt and uncle live. She is happy that is as happy as a woman can be with no one to hold and love. She lives her life havesher business, family and wonderful friends around her. She is happy that is until one handsome stranger comes in town turning her world upside down making her mind of a husband and family.

Hunter does a job for a man who cannot pay him, in return the man gives him half of a saloon the kicker is his new partner doesn’t know about this and isn’t too happy when he finds out. Hunter is tired of moving around and wants to settle put some roots down the saloon is just what he needs. He takes one look at the beautiful Tabitha and wishes he could make her his own. Knowing this isn’t going to happen she is way above him he gets to know the town and the people, than he breaks the news to his new partner. Tempters rise and things get a little out of hand leaving Hunter with trying to make the best of it and dreaming about Tabitha.

One thing leads to another and before you know the author throws some twist on you that will leave you smiling and a few with your mouth hung open. I loved the humor along with the true meaning of friendship, family and love the author brings to this story. I really enjoyed the baiting back and forward between Tabitha and Hunter along with some other members of the town. It was a pleasure to get to see some of my old favorite characters and where they are in their life and what is new with them. There are some characters I came to like and then not like so much. Tabitha’s mother is something else but she will grow on you. I did have a few good laughs at her expense lol. I dearly loved Violet I would have loved to have been part of her family, she is a witty old women whose heart is as big at the moon. She gives so much but she doesn’t take much crap. You want to stay on this woman good side for sure. The way Tabitha and Hunters romance plays out is so delightful and refreshing. You are in for such a treat watching these two fight their attraction as they get into disagreements, and the mess they make they are having a hard time keeping their hands off each other. Jealousy can be a bad thing and I truly think Tabitha’s aunt really loves her but is jealous of her. There is nothing worse than family sticking their nose in your life telling you what to do when you are 29 and fully able to run your own life. I love small towns where everyone knows everyone, they help each other giving so much back to the town and its people. The romance build up is slow and steady with a few twists. This is a story you will forget you are reading as it takes over your mind pulling you in taking you away giving you smiles after smiles along with a few heart breaks. It was a book I could not put down I had to know how each twist would play out. Things are still up in the air with Jake, Daisy and his mother but that is another story I can’t wait to read.

This is Mrs. Fyffe at her finest giving you a highly exciting entertaining read. If you haven’t read any of her books you should give this one a try. I highly recommend any of her books or audios they are truly wonderful, humorous, exciting, thrilling, with a little danger and along with a lot of love she gives each one.

Wyoming Territory, October 1883

Tabitha Canterbury came to Logan Meadows with one goal: to open the bookshop she’s always dreamed of having. After a lifetime guiding settlers across the prairie, Hunter Wade isn’t looking to stay put in Logan Meadows. But as a partner in the Bright Nugget saloon, he’s determined to turn a profit—and if that puts him in competition with Miss Hoity-Toity Canterbury, that’s fine. Victoria: Bride of Kansas (American Mail-Order Bride #34)

Victoria: Bride of Kansas (American Mail-Order Bride #34)
by E.E. Burke

My Review
This was a sweet read of two people who lost out on love both looking for something they never had. Victoria who was jilted weeks before her wedding is trying to outrun the embarrassment along with marrying a man her father picked out for her. David's wife left him with a small child and his sister is about to leave him as well to start a new career. He doesn't want a wife but his sister sees things differently. It is a tangled mess on the day his sister tells him he has but hours to learn about his new bride and to pick her up. He finds his self in a mess planning on sending her packing until he meets her. Things start getting interesting as he tries to hide he wasn't the one writing to her. This author will keep you smiling throughout this wonderful read as she breaks your heart with the story of Fannie. Such a wonderful delightful little girl with so much sorrow and pain.

Victoria stole my heart from the start with her caring loving ways. She pulls Fannie out of her shell and gets her to communicate almost from the start. David is a little bullhead but Victoria has was to bring out the best in him making him start to believe he could have a life with her. She is taken back to find he is different than his letters shows him to be. It doesn't take him long to take her heart as she falls in love with the family who is broken.

David might be a little on the cold side but he hasn't any trouble showing the love he has for his family. He is a broken man who is afraid to love again. He doesn't feel he needs a wife but does admit his daughter could use a mother. Is it worth it to only find another woman will walk away from them? He must overcome some major issues before he can truly open his heart and soul to start over and bring happiness to his family.

Victoria, Bride of Kansas is part of the 50-book series, American Mail-order Brides where you can read about 50 brides who travel hundreds of miles in hopes of finding the man of their dreams, some getting out of a tight situation. Each author brings you a compelling sweet clean read that will make you want to read the next in the series. Once you read Victoria be sure and pick up Santa's Mail-Order Bride by Ms. Burke's which tells the story of David's sister Maggie and catch up on how David and Victoria are doing.

This author gives you such wonderful characters from the daring Fannie who hasn't spoken since her mother left to Maggie David's sister. Both are wonderful loving people who take over your heart making you wish you could have truly met them. These characters become real to you as you wish you could travel back in time to this small town so you can find out what life was like back then.

This was a wonderfully well written story that will touch your heart. So much pain and sorrow to overcome. Adults learning to trust again along with a small child who must learn to trust that people will stand beside her caring and loving her. It was a pleasure watching this family overcome their issues to find their HAE. I know when I pick up one of E.E. Burke's book she will bring me a compelling story of long ago with outstanding romance that is a refreshing read that will bring a smile to my face and my soul. This is one author I highly recommend you try I am sure you will come to love her writing style as much as I do.

Santa's Mail-Order Bride

Santa's Mail-Order Bride
by E.E. Burk
e
My Review
Ms. Burke is one of my go to authors when I want a smile, excitement and a clean read with wonderful humor, filled with lighthearted passion. She gives an amazing read filled with wonderful characters about years ago as she brings wonderful true history to her readers. This story has more than one competitor. You have Gordon is trying to stay in business and Maggie's brother both trying to out do the other. Gordon is competing for Maggie's heart and Maggie is competing to find him a new wife before she falls for him herself. This was a delightful humorous read that kept me smiling throughout the whole read.

Gordon is a charmer in more than one way. He is trying his best to charm his way into Maggie's heart which she isn't having nothing to do with it. He needs to stay on his toes to keep one step ahead of her and her brother. I found him to be a delightful charming character who is s true gentleman. He is willing to push the lines to get what he wants and do his best to stay out of hot water.

Maggie is a delightful loving, caring women who is worried about the orphan children. She puts a plan in to action to give them all gifts this Christmas. Gordon has ideas of his own as he worms his way into the action and hopefully into Maggie's heart and if this helps his cause so much the better. Maggie has decided since he wants a wife she will help him find one only it will not be her. She has her family to think about and it just wouldn't be right to go against her brother when he is fighting so hard to keep his business afloat.

There is no doubt these two have chemistry as one pulls and the other tugs to get their way. The author gives you a few surprises and a little mystery as she takes you back in time giving you a highly entertaining read. I loved the humor and the baiting between the two. The messes they get into one trying to trap and the other running for the hills. Gordon isn't giving up as he sets his sites and Maggie isn't giving in. They work wonderfully together as a team and if they get their act together they will make the best team to bring happiness to a group of children who has none.

I love the way this author always brings true history to the read. I adore these characters and love how Gordon pushes the line but stays a gentleman, he becomes a caring loving man. Maggie is shy but bold which makes her endearing, she is kind and puts others first. These are two wonderful characters that will pull you in and take your heart as they dance the dance of love.

Ms. Burke gives a wonderful plot with wonderful characters blending in history with outstanding characters. She gives a wonderful clean read just pushing the lines a little. It was a treat to watch these two fall in love and overcome all the things that gets in their way. This is one author who knows her history. She has done her research and puts together a page turning read. One that will keep you smiling and guessing to what she has planned for you. As I put one of her books down I can't wait for the next one to come out to find out what she has planned for me. I hope you pick up Santa's Mail-Order Bride and enjoy it as much as I have. This is one author that always has a wonderful tale waiting for you.
