I found this book to be a great read with wonderful character that put family first business second. The characters are strong the plot is great and the passion is high. Ava is a strong willed woman who is use to doing everything for herself. When she meets Sebastian she finds he is as strong willed and bullheaded as she is. It is hard to miss the attraction between these two when they first meet. This is a story built on family, honor, friendship, and taking the bull by the horn. It is a book filled with humor, love, compassion, teasing, as well as a few heated scenes.
Ava is a lovely character that toes the lines her company gives her. When she met Sebastian she finds those lines bending. As she is adopted into the Bennett family she feels a completion that she has never felt before. This is a family that works together and has each other's backs. She doesn't take without giving, she really is a down to earth lady. There is no doubt she is strong but at times I felt she gave in a little too easy for her character. All in all she was a lovely lady that is very likable.
Sebastian is alpha all the way and use to getting his own way. He does have a weakness for his family there is nothing he wouldn't do for them. He is attracted to Ava from the start and plans to make her his as soon as possible. She throws up a few blocks but is nothing to what he is about to throw at her. He is a very likable character who has an ego to match it. He doesn't throw his weight around nor his money. He isn't afraid to use his money to help those he care or take down those who hurt the ones he cares about. I did think it was a little out of character for him when Ava had to go back to NY and he didn't take after her.
The author gives a lovely story which will pull you in with wonderful characters which will keep you laughing and smiling throughout the pages. The characters might have money but they are down to earth some with a little more ego than they need. Book two in this series looks to be even better. I am sure it will have some spit fire scenes to keep it a page turner. This was a good read nothing that really reaches out to grab you but it will hold your attention and keep you smiling with this family’s wonderful sense of humor and their family ways.
