The Executioner

The Executioner (The Family Creed #1)
by Shauna Allen

This is the start of an emotional journey that has a lot of question with few answers. One family torn in two over the lost of their sister rebuilding their life but never getting over the loss. One minute she was out with friends the next someone picked her up in a blue truck, and she was gone. There are a total of six books each about one of her brothers, book six will be her story. The Executioner is the start of a very emotional story going through the lost of their sister, the clues to where she might be and the hunt to bring her home one way or another. We meet Asher, learning how his life is as he goes through the loss of his sister. He decided to leave home and join the military where he got hurt. Deciding to come home and guard prisoners they put him in as one of the executioner which is his biggest duty. Everything is day to day until Genevieve comes along pushing her way into his life talking about one of the prisoners that just got executed from there she pushes into the life of his sister. He isn’t to trusting she isn’t giving in and slowly they build a relationship. She has a past which comes to forces and hits her hard. These two learn to lean on each other being the rock they never knew they needed.

The narrator does a wonderful job of narration, he pulls you in using his tones letting you know who is talking, what they are feeling and all the emotions that comes with it. He makes each Creed brother sound sexy, but showing you the pain they are in and the chip they carry on their shoulder. His character voices are very becoming but at times I felt he paused to long. There are no background noises, no volume changes, and no repeating of words. The audio is very clear and clean making you buy into this story and the emotions it brings with it. The sex scenes are very hot making you want to jump right in and grab each brother. Ladies you will need a fan when you listen to this hot sexy voice. His normal voice is very pleasant and appealing. Each character voice pulls you in, he adds just enough emotion to the pain and sorrow as well as the humor. I really enjoyed listening to this audio and will listen to it again.

The story is based on Asher and Genevieve but goes into depth of the lost of his sister and the hunt that is about to go on trying to find her. Both stories are very touching and emotional with a happy ending to a point, there is still the unanswer question of what happened to their sister. We met the whole family and come to love them. Each character has their own endearing ways as each one takes a place in your heart. I can already tell somewhere in this series I am going to have a box of tissues. From the first book the author reached in making me a part of this story and this family. I already have an invested interest in the outcome and to see how each other the brothers will overcome the issue and loss of their sister. This has hit this whole family very deep as well as the reader.

What I really liked about this story is the strength the family has, each has their pain and sorrow, but they are a supportive family that have held together and grew but still hold so much pain and sorrow inside them. Asher is learning and is one step closer to finding what life is all about but first he must get over Genevieve wall. Because of her past she has learned not to love, nothing good comes of it and never plans to marry. Watching their love grow, how unsure they are, how they make each other feel, as well as watching them play and get to know each other has been a pleasure. Watching the whole family pick and tease each other is been so much fun, I loved the humor and how the family interacts. I loved how strong and forward Genevieve is when she meets Asher and really blows him away, talk about knocking him off his feet. The love scenes are hot, steamy and very sexy with true emotions and a little kink. Asher has no trouble rocking your world as the sex appeal comes right off him. But it comes off Genevieve as well. Yes it is truly a heartbreaking story but a wonderful romance where two people learn what love is and just what it means. My heart goes out to all the Creed family as well as to Genevieve who lost so much at a young age and still has to come to grips with it.

When you open the book what you find are some hot Creed men with a chip on their shoulders, they have wants and needs but just don’t know it yet. It is going to take one heck of a woman to fit their bills. The women are on the way to knock not only some sense into them but rock their world like they have never seen before. What a way to start a series with the hottest couple so far in the winning lead. I really am going to enjoy these men getting a taste of their own medicine. This series so far is a big win for me, I can’t wait to see how the author take it. The mystery of the unknown pulled me in, I am really excited and scared to read The Dove, the author can take this so many ways. She knows how to pull her readers in giving a story that holds your attention entertaining you with a book you won't be able to put down.

Summary
A stray bullet ended my Army career, forcing me to follow in my father's prison guard footsteps. My sister's disappearance 10 years ago annihilated my family, forcing each of us to find a way to cope. But I've survived. Adapted. At least, until Genevieve Stone showed up, digging into the truth in the name of journalism and finding her way deep under my skin. I'm determined to do whatever it takes to find my sister, but when the case is blown wide open by the sexy reporter, I'm left with the ultimate question...can I trust her?
I'm a soldier, heart and soul. I don't do love. War and death and pain are my church. My name is Asher Creed. I am the Executioner.
Listener note: This is the first of a six-part emotional family saga series. The first five novels are 100 percent male first-person point-of-view. Each of the first five full-length novels are guaranteed to have a complete HEA romance, but please note that their family mystery remains unsolved until the end of the series.
Due to profanity, mild violence, and very strong sexual content, this book is not intended for listeners under the age of 18. Also, please note the title. The hero is, in fact, an executioner on death row. While there is no intent to make any social or political statements, please do not listen to this if this will be offensive to you.

Dirty Fake Fiancé

Dirty Fake Fiancé
By: Sky Corgan
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly
Length: 2 hrs and 12 mins
Unabridged Audiobook
Release date: 05-11-18

Short and sweet but my god she fits a lot in a little space, man ex of all ex nightmares. What a twist this author gives it. Be prepared for a few shockers as the author twists and turns her way right into your heart. When I picked this up I didn’t know what to expect it sure wasn’t what the author gave me. I listened and was like what, wow, didn’t see that coming. What would make a sister invite her crazy brothers ex to her wedding? You wouldn’t believe it if I told you. There is one shocker after another as you see just what crazy means. The author and narrator blow me away with a believable, at times funny, crazy listen that hooked me from the first page.

Ms. Kelly does a bang up job with her narration, I loved her character voices and the emotions she gives them. I have never heard her do an English accent and I loved it. I have listened to a few of her audios and have really enjoyed them. I don’t think there is something she can’t do but would be interested in listening to more accents from her. She gave true emotions to this audio really getting into character. I could hear the shock in her voice as much as it was in my mind at how things turned were playing out. Her character voices are outstanding, she puts true feeling into the audio making you believe what you are listening to. There are no repeating of words, no background, and no volume change but when the character goes in thought mood, which I thought didn’t sound right, maybe a softer tone or a little lower tone would be better. That is just my thought which doesn’t make me right and in no way does it take away from the enjoyment of the listen. Ms. Kelly has no trouble changing characters, she delivers in a smooth easy flow with true passion, showing amazing chemistry between the characters. I always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. Most of the time I was feeling the same thing. You don’t even want to know what I was thinking about that crazy ex and his sister. I do feel it was due to the narration that made me feel such emotion, more so than if I had read it. She is a wonderful narration that has come far, learning as she goes, giving one highly entertaining listen after another. I truly loved this from start to finish.

What can I say, it is short, sweet, crazy, funny, heartbreaking and very touching. There isn’t a lot you can say without giving the plot away. Between the author and narrator I was hooked, shocked, laughed and thought OH MY and even had my mouth hit the floor a time or two. The characters are great, loved the story line, it is very believable, full of hot passion, confusion and lots of drama, all those things that make it a 5 star listen. Lenka and Danny are perfect for each other, I loved their hot steamy scenes. It is a story inside a story, loved his mother, his sister needs to grow up and the ex needs to get medical attention FAST. I thought this was well-thought-out and well written, no fillers just good to honest crazy, caring, fun listen. I laughed a few times, chuckled a few times and even said are you CRAZY, yep you are lol. I loved it and can’t wait to listen to more of this author’s audios.

If it had not been for one Texas private eye this case would not have been solved, he never gave up even when the family/company wouldn’t pay him. The wife said I will pay, but he was willing to move on to find justice for one man and wife who wanted justice at no cost. This is an amazing true story of a family that had it all, all the money they could spend, some didn’t have to work but some were not happy about being cut out. I am thinking are you crazy, give me all the money I can spend and let me set on my butt and you do all the hard work I could be very happy. The family had jobs in the company but the older son wanted all control without having to ask for permission. Dean took a company that was doing very well and made this family billionaires. Someone was hasn’t happy someone wanted him dead, the story starts from the start when he was found dead and the police could not get any answers. That is until Dean’s wife turned to Bill who took this investigation to a new level.

What you will find between these pages is true facts that will shock you. A mother and son who didn’t like being cut out but are they willing to kill to get back what they believe is theirs. Wait the brother had a meeting setup for the day after Dean was killed everyone thought they would work out their difference. True there was a lawsuit for the family to gain some control back, but they were working it out. There is talking of an affair maybe in with a man, there is even some talk about drugs, and so much more. You really do not know what to believe, Bill takes it slow and easy working each stage finding answers which only lead to more questions. I think half the state was mixed up in his death, one door opens and then a twist is throw in with new characters that may or may not have anything to do with this killing.

Mr. Bennett’s narration is outstanding as he brings to life the story with strong emotions, confusion, power, control, anger, loss, heartache. He builds each character giving us their strengths and weakness taking us inside a story to see the true characters as you would have never seen them had you read this story. His female and male voices are wonderful you always know who is talking and just what they are feeling. His tones are right on the money bring so much emotion that you feel the wife’s pain as well as the uneasiness of the family. You will find no background noises, no volume changes just a very clean clear audio that really pulls you in. It sounds like he took no breaks and this was read at one setting. What really makes this an outstanding audio is how the narrator really brings it to life, you have no trouble getting lost in his pleasant voice which makes it very easy to picture the scenes in your mind. Mr. Bennett really gives character to the characters as he puts his self in their place. He gives the facts and lets you make of them what you will. I found myself asking questions, and then he would turn around and answer them. I was so pulled into this story when I got home I set for a little while in the car not wanting to put it down. You will have no trouble picturing the scenes as first one family member and then another would give no help. It is always a pleasure listening to anything this narrator publishes, I know it will always be delivered with powerful feeling and emotions, I will always be pulled in and taken away into the story that is delivered with such passion that I become part of the story. I truly enjoy his narration and can’t wait to listen to more of his work.

The author gives you a very complex true story that will hold you spellbound with so many twists and turns that will keep your mind spinning. So much detail is given but I came to expect that from this author with all he was willing to do, some of it very strange if not downright weird. Mr. Dear had me in the palm of his hand from the first page to the last. It was a story I listened to at one setting, filled with every emotion you can think of. I really can’t wait to listen to more of his audios, true crime at its best with facts and a plot that is so vivid you are so invested you won’t be able to put it down. One of the best written true crimes books I have listened to.

Summary
"I don't care who you hire, or what the company has to pay him…so long as he's the best there is."
This anguished cry from the wife of murder victim Dean Milo would draw private investigator Bill Dear into one of the most frustrating, and ultimately triumphant, cases of his career.
Dean Milo was a phenomenally successful businessman who built a tiny family business into a $50-million-a-year corporation. Along the way, he established a lengthy list of enemies that began with his immediate family and stretched throughout the social and business community. His fast-track ride to the top came to a violent halt on August 11, 1980, when Milo was found dead in his luxurious Ohio home, shot twice in the head. A blank telegram form lay nearby.
Four months after his death, the investigation remained a confusing collection of non sequiturs. Clues pointed toward Milo's involvement with the Mafia, the drug world, and the gay community. His own family refused to cooperate with the authorities. And time was ticking by.
In desperation, Maggie Milo turned to Texas private eye, Bill Dear. This is the gripping story of the remarkable collaboration between Dear and the police detectives of Akron, Ohio, that led to 11 convictions, an Ohio record. It is also a tale of the human weakness, desperation, and overwhelming greed that led to a sudden death.

Filled with a little bit of everything, every wondered where all the planes went that can’t be found? How about in the middle of the ocean all on top of each other with no signs of shock, not trying to get out, bodies a pond bodies inside of planes on top of planes that goes miles and miles deep. Years and years of missing planes and if that isn’t enough for you this group only wants one plane that has a box on it, they aren't interested in letting the world know about this hidden treasures and the untold answers of an airplane graveyard. What is in the box and how it got there is what the story is built around. It is shocking and terrifying at the same time thrilling and exciting, you never know what will happen next as the author takes you on first one wild ride and then another. It is just a believable audio that holds your interest from the first page. There is lots of danger, near death and a few deaths along with the mystery of a dome, a video game from years ago, the government, the mystery people who want it and why, ATM malfunctions that will blow your mind heck the whole plot blow me away from start to finish. What is most shocking is what is in the black box and why so many want it. Will our government win, is it even our government who wants it? Who are these people, are they really even the USA government?

Mr. Bennett’s narration is outstanding he always brings an exciting, thrilling audio that you get lost in, as he brings to life the story with strong emotions, confusion, power, control, anger, loss, heartache. You can hear all these in his voice as he builds each character giving us their strengths and weakness, their shocks and disappointments. His female and male voices are wonderful you always know who is talking and just what they are feeling. When you pick up one of his audios you know you will find no background noises, the volume never changes from one chapter to the next, it is like he read it all at one setting, he gives you a very clear and clean listen that you get lost in. Mr. Bennett has a way of bring the audio to life as he pulls you in with the excitement and danger giving you a thrilling listen you get lost in. You feel each emotion that the characters feel, you almost fill like you are right there with them. His character voices are great, his normal voice is very pleasant, it is a voice you never get tired of listening to. He really bought this audio to life for me making it very easy to picture each scene, the danger, the heartache as well as the excitement and thrills. I was so pulled in that I set in the car when I got home to listen a little longer because I had to know how that chapter ended.

Between the author and the narrator they pull you in with a very believable story that could be the headlines of tomorrow. Twelve hours of listening pleasure at your finger tips that seems to go by so fast. I was shocked when it was over and didn’t want the story to end. What a roller-coaster ride from start to finish that grabs you and keeps you so invested. The dome blew my mind at what he was able to do and why he didn’t it. The author shows you the dark sided of technology, how it gets control and then goes out of control and the people who want control and are willing to do anything to get it but first they must take out the dome that is playing a game to win, losing is not an option. One has to lose but which one will it be?

We are way too dependent on technology and yes at times the author gives you an over the top story but I fear we are headed for something of this nature in the future. The characters are well-developed, they have normal lives filled with drama, fears, needs and past that cut them like a knife. There were times my heart was in my throat waiting to see who would live and die. The scenes are real, terrifying but at the same time thrilling and exciting. These characters became real to me, everyone that was lost felt like a friend and I felt the lost. Every book I have listened to by this author has been one exciting, thrilling and even better than the last.  I would have to say has been my favorite by far, it shows what tomorrow could be like. It will be one I listen to again, it is fast pace, and I am sure I missed some good points. I totally loved it from the first page. If you are looking for an action packed, thrilling, mystery with a little touch of romance that sends you on one heck of a roller-coaster ride that keeps you so invest you forget you are listening this is the book for you.
