Under a Falling Star (Prairie Hearts #4)
by Caroline Fyffe

My Reveiw

This is part of the Prairie Hearts series but can be read as a standalone. I have not read the others in this series and did not feel lost at all. I found this to be a wonderful sweet read full of adventure, love, betrayal, renewing, outlaws, train wreck, a love triangle, and $1 million. All the things you need in a fun, exciting clean read filled with hope, desire and passion. Ms. Fyffe gives you a compelling story that pulls you in and takes you away to another place and time where she gives you a thrill of a train wreck and those who might be after the money. She keeps you guess as to who and why along with who one little lady will pick. She gives you interesting characters that feel like family as she takes you on an adventure not only of new love but of people with a past who have things to hide. Secrets kept until it is to late and the fall out that comes with it. You have two men after one women's heart, one from the past, one from the here and now both hoping to be her future.

Susanna has outrun you past but it is about to catch up with her. A few years ago she started over in a new town that she loves. With a hurtful past she isn't letting any man close even the sheriff who she loves she is keeping at arms link. Growing up the way she did has given her a fear of love and the men who use the word. None can be trusted or can they she hopes to find true love but isn't holding out for it. When her past comes to haunt from a man from her past she finds herself in a love triangle. One man has hidden things from her for years, the other was always kind even in trying times. Will she pick one or tell the both to go find greener pastures?

Albert is keeping the town safe, wears his badge proud and is so in love with Susanna he is having a hard time keeping it as friends. He has a past full of heartbreak, love and betrayal. He knows before he can move forward he must come clean but every time he tries to Susanna will not let him finish. Before he can tell her what he is hiding his past comes back to haunt him leaving him short one love and a few surprises. With one train wreck he finds the whole town in danger along with the danger of losing the one woman he could ever love.

Ms. Fyffe gives you a wonderful believable story with wonderful characters along with an outstanding plot that keeps you guessing almost until the end. I thought I knew what was coming I saw the writing on the wall only to find out she twisted it full of surprises that kept me turning the pages. There isn't a character that I didn't like each have wonderful qualities and very likable. This was a story I had trouble putting down as these characters weave a place in your heart you are not sure who to cheer for. Knowing only one man can winner her heart as your heart breaks for the loser. Both men are very likable, caring men who built their life on honor. It does seem they might not be as honest as they would like us to believe. Come take a journey back in time to 1833 where there are outlaws, trains and love. Ms. Fyffe is one of my go to authors I know she will always have a wonderful sweet read for me filled with exciting tales of love, the past, as she spins a compelling story of broken hearts looking for the perfect match.
