A new series of a very touching read one lady gave up everything she has to help run her family home and raise her half brother. Leaving her father and step mother to take off running the business and taking trips to see the world why she is left at home with little or no money. What a heartfelt emotional story of one woman who wants it all but can’t because of her duties to her family.

Mr. Taylor does a wonderful job of narration from the many different characters to the feel of emotions. You never are in doubt just who is talking or what they are feeling. I found both his female and male voices to be a delight from the strong male to the soft female you could really feel the pain, sorrow, and happiness he gives them. I heard no background noise or any places where the volume changes. If any breaks where taken I could not tell. His voice is strong and clear giving you a delightful listen. His performance is outstanding from the emotion to his voices he really make the story come alive. He is a very talented narrator that pulls the listener in giving a very vivid listen that you can picture the scenes in your mind.

There isn’t a lot you can say about this without giving the story away. It does have a wonderful plot with wonderful characters. There are family values that mean a lot even a few characters have a lot to learn and learn their lessons well. It was emotional that really pulled on your heartstrings. The author gives you a great ending that makes you wish you were there watching.

This was a sweet clean listen with a little adventure about a man who needs the thrills the Wild West can give him and a woman who wants to change his ways. There is nothing more exciting and terrifying than being a mail order bride but what do you do when your stage has been stopped by a bandit who wants all your valuables? You beg not only for your life but for those things you hold the dearest. What happens when he lets you keep it all and rides away? You are one confused women who lets a little bit of her heart go with the man who rode away. When you go to the alter to meet the man you agreed to marry only to know you have seen those eyes before what do you do….well you will have to read or listen to find out….

I thought Ms. Kelly did a wonderful job on the narration she really brings emotion to her characters never leaving you guessing to what they are feeling. Her voices fit the characters giving power to the males, and soft and sexy to the female. There was no place where the volume was higher or lower than any other place in the audio. If breaks were taken you could not tell. Her voice was very clear you had no trouble knowing who was talking and just what they are feeling. I could really feel the emotions in her voice whether sad, happy or angry. There is no background noise just a very clear, clean and crisp audio that is very enjoyable. You could really hear the emotion in Kathy voice as she really tries to put her best foot forward giving her marriage a chance but only if he cleans up his ways. When the bandit tried to take Kathy’s valuables my heart just about stopped. I really thought she brings a lot to the audio really giving you very vivid scenes you can picture in your mind.

This is a very short and sweet listen that you can’t say much about. I thought it was well written with a great plot that holds your attention. It is well worth your time to pick this up for a delightful fun exciting read.

WOW from the first page this author grabs your attention to the last with his gripping tale of mutilation that will make all men and most women cringe I know I sure did. The author left me with my mouth hung open as the killer starts is act and all he does to kill his victims. One serial killer down the author takes us off to the next one who has it in for pedophiles as he takes them down one at a time. This is the second book I have listened to by this author and it is just as good as the first one. The author took me in from the first page making me hold my breath with the chilling tales of a serial killer who knows just how to make these criminals pay for their crimes in a way that most of us would love to.

The author is also the narrator which had me a little nervous because most authors cannot narrate very well. However I thought that Mr. Croft did a pretty good job not as good as his past narrator but a pretty good job. I thought his voice was very pleasant with a delightful accent that pulls you in. I do think his female voices do need a little work to sound more female. I thought he did put emotion into the listen I always knew who was talking and what they were feeling. The tones for each character are pretty good that you have no trouble feeling the emotions the characters are feeling.  There are no places where there are a repeat of words or any place where the volume is higher or lower than anywhere else in the audio. There are no background noises just a clear audio that is very enjoyable.  If any breaks were taken I could not tell it was a very crisp clean audio that did hold my attention and at times making my heart speed up and leaving me holding my breath.  I am looking forward to listening to more of his narration and feel he will become a wonderful delightful narrator as he goes along narrating more.

Poor Jack has so much on his plate from his wife coming back, not being able to see his daughter, his wife leaving again and is friend dying that it is hard for him to puy his heart into his work. He feeling the new serial killer is doing a wonderful job not saying he won’t do his job but when his mouth overruns his mind he gets into a lot of trouble. With a new boss coming on the scene he over steps his self lands him on leave.  Wendy has her hands full trying to work out who the killer is and keeping poor Jack in line.

This was a very entertaining listen that really grabs you and keeps its as you try to work out who the killer is as well as trying to get over the shock of how he kills. It is very well written in a style that isn’t overwhelming even through the things the killer does is shocking.  There is no romance or anything new on Jacks wife. What you get is how hard Jack is finding life when his whole world starts falling apart. He takes the death of his friend very hard and has trouble dealing with it. Not working is very hard for him as he starts drinking more and caring less. Wendy does her best to pull him back in but leaving her asking some tough question not only about Jack but other officers. This is a very suspenseful story as always it has its chills. Wendy and Jack work well together but this might be the last time they do if Jack can’t get his act together.  The author gives you a surprising ending that really is wonderful. This is the second book I have listened to from this author and find his writing style a delight that really gets to your heart with characters that really pulls you in making them a part of their life. I just love these characters and what they bring to the story. The buildup of the plot is great with a few heart stopping moments that shock you. I can’t wait for the next one. This has turned out to be a wonderful series.

Could it be that the killer was someone very close to home, a police officer?

When You Make It Home

When You Make It Home

Written by: Claire Ashby
Narrated by: Piper Brown
Length: 10 hrs and 15 mins
Unabridged Audiobook
Release Date:09-17-15
Publisher: Red Adept Publishing, LLC

This was one of the most emotional read I have ever listened to from an unexpected pregnant women to her many different men. One man is from her past, another is one she saw no future with and broke it off, the last is a soldier of war.  One has no time for her, one never said good-bye just never came back, the other has so many issues your heart just breaks for him and all he goes through. One of these men is the father of her baby, one hopes he is, one wants no part of it and the last wishes he was but will gladly take her and the baby any way he can get them.

For me this started out very slow and at times picked up and slowed down again as you close in on the middle of the book you are very hooked and need to know just how this plays out. Meg is just an emotional mess in more ways than one. She doesn’t want anyone to know she is expecting just yet with one wicked step mother who sees no good in her, a father she adores and doesn’t want to let down to her brother who has always been her anchor what will he think, let’s not forget the women who gave birth to her and left them at a very young age.  She knows she is expecting but as long as a doctor doesn’t say so than she can almost make herself believe she is not. Her secret won’t be a secret for long as fast as she is growing she won’t have to tell anyone they will know for their selves real soon. She will do this, she can do this alone, she just needs more time and to be able to work out all the issues over the baby’s father, her birth mother who never wanted her, what if she can’t be a mother and turns out like her mother. So many issues and question that needs to be worked out before she can be the person and mother she wants to be.

Theo he is an emotional mess his self he just got home and is badly wounded with his emotions all over the place. He doesn’t want anyone to feel sorry for him he is doing a wonderful job of that his self. When he and Meg cross swords as they have a self pity party they meet head on as words fly they soon find together they make a great team and a relationship is born. That is until ex’s walk back into their lives along with issues they each have that may tear them apart.

I really loved Ms. Brown’s narration with only a few things that makes this a 4 star and not a 5 star listen. There is one place where she over talks herself, I even went back to make sure I heard what I did. The story is going well and then there is a place where she is speaking twice in one place. It is almost like it was rewind and talked over but it has two different sentences spoken at once. There is also a few chapters where her volume changes when she said each chapter, such as Chapter 5, Chapter 7, Chapter 10.  (I do not remember which one they were but there were a few where the volume changed.) Not a major big deal just enough that you notice. Beside the above the volume never changes and is even throughout.  Her character voices were outstanding, her characters tones were filled with emotion hitting everyone right on the money. You always knew who was talking and just what they were feeling. Her male voices were just as great as her female ones, I really thought each voice fit the character making me really understand each one better. There is no background noise just a smooth clean listen but for the one issue I already stated. I have not listened to any of her work but really look forward to listening to more of it. For me she really pulled me in making me believe all she was staying. I had no trouble picturing in vivid detail of each scene as it unfolds. I believe I would not have gotten the same effect had I read and not listened. She really brought this story alive for me.

The characters of this story are normal people with normal issues, there is a lot of drama so most of our lives are filled with it. Just when you think you know where the author is going she changes it and throws a twist in it. Some of them I saw coming and others I was very shocked but it didn’t turn out as I thought they would. The author takes the bad and turns it into good as she twists your emotions all over the place. There is a little mystery between these pages as well as lots of secret that could tear a family apart as well as some that will draw people closer together. Theo just about had me in tears at the emotional psychical and mental issues he went through. I doubt you can read this and not be touched by his story. Meg there were times I really liked her and others where I would loved to have slapped her. I do have to admit when it came to the part about her mother it really tore me up there is one place maybe two when I really just wanted to cry with her. Her father has his own issues with his marriage and life. Her brother has a secret he is hiding as well as dealing with Meg issues trying so much to help her but at times can be a pain. Her step mother wow what can one say about her, she is something else but does learn what is important. Jason now he is someone who really needs to grow up. Her ex I never really got a handle on him he is in and out but seems to be controlling. There are the friends who you will just love and some others that will surprise you along the way.

All in all this was a great story that I really liked. The author brings characters in a way that she might be thinking of giving them their own story. There are a few I would love to learn more about and I feel deserve to have their story told. If you are looking for an emotional audio or even book that really grabs you leaving you in an emotional mess but also makes you smile and laugh I recommend you pick this up it is well worth your time.

I requested the audio from audiobookboom.com I thought it would be a great audio and found I was right. Great story as well as narration that really pulls you in.
