This is the first book I have read by this author along with the first
in this series. This was a very touching read of how a military hero
comes home surfing from PTSD he hides it well even if a few things are a
little off to those he works with. He was surprised when Samantha
picked up on it and was shocked how well she handled him and his issues.
With all the danger around he must learn how to handle it better as he
tries his best to fight not only his PTSD but to keep Samantha safe.
This was a very touching and powerful read as the author gives you a
heartbreaking story of a hero coming home trying to work out his issues
on his own and the people around him trying to help him as they go on
the hunt for the person who is trying to harm Samantha.
Logan
has not had an easy life coming from an alcoholic father. In finding his
self and controlling his issues he will have to revisit his past what
he finds out things are not always as they seem. In saving Sam Logan is
made an escape goat as they do their best to bring him down leaving Sam
wide open to a killer. Will Logan pull his self together overcome his
PSTD along with his troubling past as he tries to keep his head above
water why trying to save the lady who is trying to save him. I really
liked Logan and could relate to him. From what I have seen firsthand
from my military friends this author did her research bring us a very
believable story with so much pain of those that do their best to serve
and protect us only to come home broken, lost and alone having trouble
dealing with fitting back in to our world. Logan just wants to be normal
with all that he has seen and the flashbacks it is not easy. He really
wants a family and a woman who will love him but with his issue he
doesn’t think he is good enough. He is broken, half a man and seeing no
end in sight. You will love this character as he goes in to protective
mode to keep those he cares about safe why fighting his own demons.
Sam wow she is something else. To her credits she is a well known
hacker the best of them all she has a few secretes she is hiding that
might shock a few. She is a very well put together lady from her mind to
her actions. A very down to earth caring lady who does her own severing
and protecting as she takes on the world trying to do her best for
Logan. If she wants something she goes after it letting nothing stand in
the way. She is defiantly a women you want on your team and not as an
enemy. I love the way she shows Logan who is boss with her sassy
attitude. You will fall in love with her almost from the first page.
The author gives you a very well written story with an outstanding plot
as she gives you thrills and excitement throughout this read as the
characters have to find out who is plotting to take them out. She gives
you danger as she takes you through the twist and turns you do not see
coming. She gives you humor of the finest that will make you laugh one
minute and keep your heart in your throat the next. The characters are
truly heroes of the finest as they try to bring the bad men down trying
to stay alive as they fight their own issues. I cannot wait to go back
and read the rest of this series. This is a story you can sink your eyes
into as you turn the page to find what the next thrill will be and what
kind of mess the characters get into next. There was nothing I didn’t
like about the book. The author gives a compelling read that you will
not want to end.
