My Review

This was a good sweet read nothing earth shattering and is predictable. I thought it was well written with great characters that are really likable. Charlie was sweet, single who can look down on him for having one nightstands. It is true he isn’t as bad and the news makes him but isn’t that the case with most singers. Stardom hasn’t gone to his head and his ego isn’t so great he can’t fit through the door. In no way is he innocent but a likable man. Arabella does what is expected of her but I do not think she is as innocent as the author makes her. Things just do not add up all the way for me.

I do love the fact that Charlie is a family man his sisters and their family mean the world to him. When one has a problem he does all he can to make it right. I did think he over did the long term relationship, what happen to him was when he was in his late teens. I would hope women would have grown up more in the years to follow. Plus he could have had his women go on tour with him. I would have respected him more had he just said I am not ready to get tied down. I did like him and thought he was sweet just a little over the top.

 Arabella is very sweet I loved her bucket list and how she went after what she wanted. Wanting to do things on her own and be her own person you have respect that. There is just no way she can be as sweet an innocent and do some of the things she did in the way she did them. You do have to like her with her go get her ways. Helping where she is needed nothing really stood in her way.

I thought the supporting characters were good. Her best friend is a trip she had me chuckling a few times. I understood her dad totally it isn’t easy letting go of one’s child to let the swim or sink. I thought this was a good sweet read but nothing that will stick with you after you finished. Is it worth your time yes I think it is. Some people will say it is an ok read and other will say it was a great read and they loved it. I recommend you pick it up and give it a read.

My Review

There is just something about small town romance that reaches in and grabs your heart. This was a book I had trouble putting down. I loved the characters which are really down to earth just you’re normal every day run of the mill. You are going to love the Black family with over powering brothers who try their best to protect the only sister. They have each other’s back and will be there no matter what. Rafferty and Trace will touch your heart but theirs is not the only one story in this small town that will have you wanting to reach in and hold them tight as you read about a small town trying to keep it together.

Rafferty just got out of a bad marriage and isn’t looking for anything or anyone. She just needs a break to pull herself together so she can decide what she wants to do. When her car breaks down and a hot cowboy comes to tow it away she cannot take her eyes of him. I really liked this character she might have money but it does rule her. She is really down to earth and gives back to those who have needs. This is one small town that just doesn’t know how to deal with her. She charms them all and falls hard for the town and everyone in it. How can she do her job keeping that information to herself and not have the town hate her when they find out her real reason for being the area.

 Trace hasn’t a clue how good looking he is, he doesn’t have to work to charm the woman they just fall at his feet. He has his hands full with his brothers and sister with some very trying times and broken hearts in this family. Trace is very devoted to his family he helps raise them when his father could not. He is there for his brother day and night he has PTSD. He is wearing his self out but won’t put him in away and forget him.  He has a hard time keeping Rafferty at arms link with his smart mouth and her even smarter one they hit it off. He gets to know her and shows her his town. With his past it hard to trust woman  starting with his mother. He is afraid to open his heart knowing she will leave him. Something just can’t be stopped and falling for Rafferty is one of them.

The author writes a wonderful story doing a wonderful job setting up for the rest of the series. I am looking forward to see each of these characters in future books reading their stories and their pain. I found this book to be a delight with wonderful humor as this town protects their own but is so giving and loving it pulls you in. Rafferty and Trace story is very touching one hunting for herself and the other just trying to hang on to his family. There are a few twist and turns to make it a very interesting read that you will not want to put down. There are very few places in this story that will not tug at your heartstrings. This is a wonderful start to what looks like is going to be an outstanding series. If you love Susan Mallery, Kristan Higgins, or Rachel Gibson, this is the book for you it has very touching scenes full of romance, passion and heartbreak. Come let Laurel Falls take you away and pull you into their world you won’t be disappointed.

My Review

The start out of this book will leave you with your mouth open. Cassey did not have a good start in life. All that changed when a wonderful lady took her away and placed her in a loving home. As she grew up she knew she wanted to make this family proud of her and help others just like her. She now starts over getting the old family business up and running along with helping to support a program to help child like her and her brothers. One man comes along and wants to take all that way from her or does he? Luke comes in cocky and in control just like his old man. Cassey turns the tables on him and she might find is he isn’t so bad after all.

The author gives you two people trying to live up to their parents. Cassey for what they did for her and Luke for what he thinks he owes them. I really liked both these characters they are both strong but weak, both caring and loving and both want a better world. The question is how far both will go to get what they want. Cassey is a strong lady she doesn’t give up easy and gives Luke a run for his money. I love their sense of humor and found this a very humorous read at times.

Roy Samuelson does a really good job of narration at first I just wasn’t sure about a male voice. His characters voices are wonderful and full of emotion. You have no trouble telling who is talking and what they are feeling. I heard no background noise although I did hear a few changes in tone when I believe he took a break. His female voices were a delight he pulled them off wonderfully. I have listened to other audios by this narrator and have always been impressed by his work. I really look forward to listening to more by Mr. Samuelson.

I thought the author gave a wonderful read that really touches your heart. I feel many will be able to relate to these characters and may have been in the same place as Cassey. It is a powerful read with powerful chemistry both from the main characters and Luke’s family. I really didn’t care for his father and I was on the limb on his mother. Really she turned out to be a sweet lady which really shocked me.

I thought this was well written with a lot of thought put into the story. The author puts a lot into a short listen never leaving the read behind or guessing to what happen in the past. Luke’s might start out pushy rich boy but it doesn’t take long to see just where his heart is and just what he thinks of his world. It might shock you to the reason he goes along with his family. There isn’t anything his family won’t do to keep him in line. He really has some tough decisions to make. There are some pretty hot scenes along with some very touching ones. I think most will find this an entertaining read.

My Review

For some reason I just couldn’t get into this book. I thought it had wonderful characters and a wonderful plot. I thought it started out to slow and just moved to slow for me throughout. I did have a hard time with the age gap being closer to her age than his it was hard to put myself in their shoes. There were some very emotional touching scenes that reach out and grab your heart. There were many good parts. I can’t say there was anything bad I just didn’t connect with the characters. I honestly do not think it was due to the author or her story I feel it was me and might have been more that I wasn’t in the mood for this type of story.

The characters come together as employee, than friends and move to lovers. They each need a second chance. There are times when Jillian will let the age gap get in the way. There are times you just want to yell at her and say go with it, get over it. We can’t really pick who we are attracted to or fall for. It has some great turns and twist. The characters are believable along with the plot.

I do plan to give this another read when I am more in the mood for this type of book. I feel I cannot give it justice that it and the author deserve. I hope you will pick it up and give it a read I feel that a lot of people will love it as well as be moved by it.

My Review

This is a Christian base story that is a clean read full of humor, mystery and a little action. Two women are killed they now have to find out who did it. The owner of the Harvey House restaurant calls in Pinkerton when the sheriff of this small town doesn’t have a clue to where to even start. Sheriff Branch Whitman has little use for the Pinkerton’s and doesn’t want them in his town. He is on the hunt for the killers along with the Pinkerton operative.  Here it gets a little funny as he goes off half cocked on the hunt, Katie is about to tell the sheriff who she is until he opens his mouth and tells her what he thinks of the Pinkers. This was a very entertaining humorous read at times I chuckled and laughed. The author gives you a few stories inside that has your heart in your mouth wondering how this will turn out.

I really enjoyed the characters I liked how Branch and Katie reacted to each other. You could feel the pull between them. I loved the Harvey ladies each having their own little mystery. Andy was adorable just cute as a button. Branch is a strong bullheaded man who mostly thinks women should be home. I wouldn’t really call him alpha just strong welled. He has had some hard times in his life. Katie has had a hard time as well. From her father to her boyfriends she doesn’t know who to trust.  She is a lovely smart and strong welled. She will stand up to any man but she is still very much a lady. I loved how she worked out who the killer was, how she used what she had learned to find him.

I enjoyed the plot along with the wonderful characters. This was well written and well thought out story. This is a Christian book that talks about faith and God but isn’t pushy. The story never gets boring maybe it has a slow start but it isn’t long before you are pulled in trying to help solve the mystery. There were a few times I thought I had it worked out but changed my mind for one reason or the other. In some ways I had it worked out and in others I was clueless.  I liked that this had a light side to it with humor but they still took it very seriously.  If you enjoy a clean, mystery with humor than this book is for you. I really enjoyed it.
