This is book one of a three part series that is full of action, a few chills and some downright horrors. Here we meet attorney Joanna and Sergeant Townsend who keep us entertained throughout as they team together on the mayor's special task force to stop illegal counterfeit fashion that is taking over the city. What do you get when you have two strong willed people that are attracted to each other but seem only to be able to irritate the other as they buttheads? You get one highly entertaining read that keeps the reads smiling and at times laughing as they go head to head to chase down counterfeiters only to be found on the receiving end of danger. Jo demands to be on all the busts, the hunt and the catcher only to find the counterfeits have her in their sites leaving Gabe pulling his hair out and talking to his self. Gabe has never met a woman more frustrating or more sexy that is slowing driving him to drink. As the author spends us through the twists and turns, the hunt is on bring more danger than Joanna ever expected. With Gabe hot on her tail trying his best to keep his eyes off her sexy backside and out of danger. This is one strong, sassy, sexy bullheaded woman who will not listen to reason. Joanna doesn’t understand why one sexy bullheaded sergeant won’t listen to reason and is always trying to keep her away from the thrilling excitement that comes with each bust. That is until the day she gets in over her head and leaves her at deaths door.
This is a very exciting read that hooks you from start to finish leaving you breathless as you go through the paces of each new exciting, thrilling road block that is put before them. The Chase is a very well written story leaving the read on the edge as they dance around each other bulling, yelling, cursing, and demanding what they expect from the other. The author knows how to spin her words to keep you hooked and entertained why she keeps you smiling, laughing and gasping at the new twist she spins. You have to smile as these two try their best to keep their hands among other things off each other. Trying to keep their thoughts and minds on the case and off the thought of what they liked to do to the other.
The Evasion
This is the second book in the Justifiable Cause series which picks up right where the last one left off with Gabe and Jo hot on the trail of the counterfeiter which have moved to South Carolina. They are having a hard time keeping their relationship under wraps. Taking a trip to hopefully bring the counterfeiters down, as they go to a new town they loosen up a little and enjoy their time together. Trying to play it by the rules until the suspect the sheriff might be a part of the counterfeiter ring. With their jobs and relationship on the line they try their best to keep their love life and profession life separate. As the stakes get high and this becomes a life or death matter will they be able to keep the two divided?
At times this was full of suspense that held you on the edge as these two go head to head matching passion as well as tempters. It was very entertain keeping me glued to the pages to see what would happen next. When I hit chapter nine the author turned on the humor. I have to admit I totally lost as laughed myself silly. At one point my husband gave me that look that said CAN YOU TURN IT DOWN. Humm I guess not when the next sentences kept me rolling with tear almost in my eyes. I have learned a woman should never leave home without her shoes!
I love these characters and the respect they give each other but at the same time finding the lighter side. At times one look or one touch can calm the other. They try so hard to find a way to keep their careers as well as their personal lives in a workable but separate place. They are finding this hard with each passing day. Both respect the other just as they are with tempters, sassy demanding way and a smart mouth. It is what attracted them to each other, it is nice to see they do not try to change the other. Giving each other room but stand their ground which can be very trying at times and so entertaining for the reader. It was entertaining to see them getting to the point where they know how to get around the other but also give the other what they need, being able to read body language or looks. I loved the conflict and tension as tempers rise they don’t hold back.
The Capture
This is the end to a three part series that is full of action you are going to love it. Jo is in LA helping set up a counterfeiter task force. Gabe comes to visit taking a long overdue vacation. Jo and Gabe relationship has always been behind closed door neither wanting the fallout it would bring to those they work for. In LA they are free to let it grow building a united front as they work toward bring justice to major companies who lose billions of dollars a year to counterfeiters.
On her way to the airport to pick up Gabe she decides to kill some time and do some shopping for some counterfeit items which gets her in more trouble than she ever expect leaving Gabe again trying to protect her and keep her alive. The story starts with fast pace action we see the dangers of being in the wrong place at the wrong time leaving both Gabe and Jo seeing more action then they bargained for.
Captured really kept me hanging on the edge with a story I could not put down. I loved this series, this one would be my favorite of the three books. Although some of the series can be read as standalone to get the full impact of what their job is and their relationship you will want to read them all. Separate they are wonderful reads too together they are outstanding. This is a series that will hold your attention giving you one heck of a ride as you hold your breath wondering if they will make it out of this last story alive. There is some touch and go scenes that keep this a page turner from the first page to the last.
If you are looking for an outstanding action pack thrilling read this will give you the suspense you crave. It is well written with delightful characters that pull you in demanding and holding your attention.
