My Review

This was a delightful read full of passion, love and betrayal everything that makes this a five star read. Even though this is the fifth book in the series it can be read as a standalone. I am sure if this is the first of the series you have read you will want to go back to read the rest of this wonderful captivating series.

Lady Evangeline and Lord Hadley were deeply in love and had planned to elope and marry. Things got in the way of their happiness as things went terribly wrong leaving Evangeline to marry someone else. Years go by leaving her a widow with a small son and Harley a Duke. When they meet again at a dinner party they are very angry with each other for leaving the other to deal with the fall out. This is where the story really takes of and gets very interesting with a story I could not put down.

The author gives you a wonderful plot spinning wonderful twists that keeps you hooked until the end. She gives you wonderful characters you can relate to as your heart reaches out to them cheering them on and at times pulling on your heartstring with all they have to deal with. This is a fast paced read with delightful characters you can relate to. I love the writing style of the author as she gets right to your heart with an unknown threat that wants them to pay for the sins of their fathers. Much will happen with lots of danger around before or if they can make the wrong right of their past. Ms. Evans knows how to pull you in keeping your heart pounding as she takes you through the twists and turns keeping you invested in the story hanging on the edge waiting for the next shoe to drop with danger, deception, seduction, passion and mistrust giving the reader what they crave in a exciting dangerous romance that will leave you wanting more. I can’t wait for the next book in this wonderful delightful series.

This was a short and sweet story about what is important in life sometimes we get so caught up in our world we forget the important things in life. Somewhere along the line life will remind us of those lessons we have forgotten it is up to us whether or not we listen and relearn. Tristan is all ready to fight a major snow storm to get to the girl he wants to make his when Grace almost hits him. Once he hears her story he can relate to her there has been times he has only thought of his self just as she has now. She wants to make that wrong a right to get home to be with her grandfather doing the things they always did as a family on New Year’s Eve. This is very important to her as he his self wishes he could redo something in his family he does the best he can to make her wishes come true.

This is about a young man who is a little on the nerdy side and doesn’t know how to really talk to girls he feels unsure of his self. Tristan is a normal guy doing normal guy things Grace Is a girl who life has slapped in the face thinking of her own troubles not how it affects her grandfather. This is a story that is touching a sweet. I am not sure this is a believable one but it is a lesson we all need to remember about what is important in life and to make each day count.

Mr. Russell does a wonderful job of narration which a delightful voice that you have no trouble getting lost in. There are no background noises or any places where the audio volume is higher or lower than the rest of the book. He gives you delightful characters that you have no trouble knowing who is talking or what their feelings are. His voice tones give you all you need to know on what each character is thinking or feeling. I enjoyed his male and female voices. Again it was a nice taste of what this narrator can do to get you invested in other books he has narrated.

I would love to know how the story ends it kind of leaves you hanging on their relationship. There is a strong attraction but the story is more about remembering those you loved lost and those left behind. It would make a good full story if the author ever wants to do this.

My Review

I totally loved the humor in this book, the plot is outstanding, and characters are something else from the main to the supporting it was truly an outstanding read.  Grayson is known as a love them and leave them artist. You can’t always believe all that you hear or read.  He paints nudes with models falling at his feet not only to paint them but to join him in his bed. Chloe needs money to get out of town before the ones hunting her find her. She agrees to let Grayson paint her only if her face isn’t showing but he has a big secret and turns her down. What is up with that he couldn’t wait to paint her not he isn’t interested, something doesn’t sound right here. Chloe has a secret of her own that leaves Grayson chopping at the bit to find out what it is. She wants to leave town he needs her to stay for his family until they return home. This was a fun tug of war read with each taking one step forward and a few back when the other gets to close.

Chloe is a delight with her easy going way but she is on the run. To work this out you must think outside the box as Grayson does.  She is fun, a little on the wild side but at the same time very down to earth. The character comes across as shy at times and others she is very outspoken. She is really a mixture of all of the above in a well put together woman who got mixed up with the wrong people  for a short time.

Grayson comes across as a playboy a little on the wild side. He really is more down to earth than you believe. Loves painting nude women and he is really very good at it. I would say he is a little shy and unsure of his self. This misleads everyone around him with his good looks and body women only see what they want. As a character he is wonderful as he runs around trying to stay out of Chloe’s way but working up ways to make her stay until his family gets back or is he?

What made this a 5 star read for me was the humor, tug of war between the two, the  fun way they come out of their shell, and the in-depth of each character there is much more that the eye can see. I loved how the story came together along with the mystery around it. The author pulls you in catching you in the first few pages which leave you with a page turn you can’t but down. She has put a lot of time and thought into this plot, twisting and turning it keeping you guessing. She builds up her characters and turns them from what everyone believes they are into wonderful down to earth normal people you can relate to. I would so love to be part of this wacky crazy family. This is a series which each book can be read as a standalone you will want to go back and read the first of the series. The author never leaves you guessing as to what is going on or what happen in the other books in this series.  She gives you what you need to know to make you understand and enjoy the read. This is the first I have read from this author but can’t wait to go back and read the first books to find out just how each brother found their loves. I feel most will enjoy this. If you love to laugh out loud at the wild and crazy things people do this is the book for you.

My Review

This is a very short and sweet listen. There is nothing more I can tell you that the author doesn’t have in the book summary. Anymore and it would give the whole book away. I will say this it is a nice way to get a little taste of the author writing style.

I really enjoyed this authors writing style. However just as you were really getting into the story the story ends with you hanging on. I would have loved to have known how this story finishes and just what happens to both of their careers.  I am unsure if this is just a prologue and another book is going to be published with the rest of the story.  I thought the characters where good and the way the scenes play out you have no doubt this is going to be a mess no matter how the author takes it. I have to feel for each one of them and hope for the best and whatever decisions they might make the fall out isn’t too bad. It was a nice taste which I do hope I will get to know the outcome in a full book. I look forward to more from this author.

My Review

I would say this is every woman’s nightmare being forced to marry a man you can’t stand who has nothing going for him. What a start to what looks to be an outstanding series. This is one story that the author weaves you a wonderful plot of being on the run with danger all around you as you travel across the plains with Indians who just might want a piece of your skin along with your husband and stepfather hot on your trail.  This is one author that always gives you an exciting read as you set on the edge wondering what will take place next. This is a story that will keep you up late at night as you get so caught up on all the twists and turns. It was so nice to get an update on the past characters that you have come to love as well as new ones you will love.

My heart went out to Genevieve losing her whole family and having to live with the evil stepfather who did not care for her. Her life was hard and rough which made her strong. She is such a sweet lady who gives so much of herself only to have herself be given away in marriage to a man even more evil then her stepfather. I cheered for her when she ran pushing her the whole way as my heart was in my mouth a time or two when things got a little hairy wondering what the outcome would be.

Thomas is a man’s man with his honorable cowboy ways you are going to fall for him right away. From the first look he was taken in by Genevieve even when he knew he shouldn’t he still wanted her. He is a driven man trying to make his father proud. I wish I would know if he was but I am guessing that will come along as the series goes on. His life hasn’t been the easiest either not being the number one son always trying to do what was needed but just never good enough. His men come first and then his cattle. He overcomes every turn with class as he tries to get his cattle to their new home.

I loved the pull and tug of war between these two. This is a story about learning to trust, giving ones heart as the author puts together a wonderful story that will keep you turning the pages. This was a thrilling exciting read I could not put down. I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. It is really a wonderful heartwarming read that makes you wish you could be part of it. These characters become family as you watch them try to do the best they can. This is one author who pulls you in making you smile and almost cry. You are so going to love this author and her stories. Come pick up one of her books and be taken back to the west where not everything is as it seems with man who knew how to be men giving back to the land and their women.

My Review

This starts out very slow but picks up in a pretty fast pace. It was nice to get back in touch with the wonderful characters from book one. I really feel you should read book 1 or you might feel a little lost. This was a very good drama filled, alpha, with a little mystery, a few twists you won’t see, as well such pain and sorrow. The characters are trying to overcome their past dealing with the dark side of life. Kara kills her brother in the last book to save her best friend who was his girlfriend. I doubt anyone could have been treated worse by a man than she. He deserved to die so other can live in peace. Not everyone is happy with his death as Kara tries to deal with what she has done it isn’t easy to kill but to kill your own brother takes a big piece of your mind as you try to get over what you have done. This is the story of Kara moving on, dealing with the fallout of her action and a stalker who won’t leave her alone. She has found the love of her life but will she live long enough to enjoy it or will other take her out?

I love how sassy Kara is how she comes across as the tough lady but really is an sweet caring women who tries to do the best she can by her friends. There are things she doesn’t know and when she finds out will change her life not always for the good. There is no doubt this is one strong tough cookie. Even the strong have their weakness as Kara will find out. She has had a hard life living with her brother and his demanding ways. She misses the person he used to be before the dark world took him over.

For me Liam didn’t come off as alpha as he did in the first book. He is still a wonderful strong alpha male who will not let anyone mess with what is his. It is hard for me to understand why he just couldn’t let his sister go. She is living her life the way she wants and has in the past caused so much trouble for all of them. He can’t stand her and I just do not feel the love for her so why he wouldn’t let her go I just do not understand. Here you see a more down to earth character along with the head banging person he is. He is a lovely man who women would love to take home. For me he is a little too much lol.

When we are young we are full of hopes and a dream as we get older life has other ideas. We take wrong roads, picking wrong people to put in our world. Sometimes we do not know what we have until it is too late and you are so far in that you can’t walk away. If you do it isn’t easy, they come looking for look for you to bring you back or they come to kill you. Everyone wants something and most will get what they want. Here you have this type of life, on the run, finding a place to call home only to have them find you. Things do not turn out so good and now you have to deal with the fall out. There are bad people out there who are on the other side of the law just waiting to take you down.

I really enjoyed the mystery, the action, thrills, working out the puzzle of who or what. Heidi has come far with her writing as you can tell if you had read her very first book which climbed the rating in a fast pace. It is still setting at a wonderful rating even after a year. Here second book did wonderful as well. Stealing My Fate is climbing and looks to be just as good as the past ones.  Ms. Lis knows how to pull in her reader giving you a top of the line read why filling your mind to keep you invested. There are times you will smile and maybe even laugh but there will be many times where your heart will be in your throat waiting to see how the shoe drops. The surprises will leave you jaw dropped never seeing that coming. I hope you will give this author a read and let her take you on a thrilling mystery filled read.
