The Woodsman: Enchanted Lovers,

The Woodsman: Enchanted Lovers, Book 1

Written by: Belle Scarlett
Narrated by: Honey Scarlett , Leeroy Will
Length: 2 hrs and 39 mins
Unabridged Audiobook
Release Date:02-17-17
Publisher: A Scarlett Woman Press

What made this audio was the outstanding narration and sound effects.  Here is where little red riding hood meet the big bad wolf like you have never seen before. Little Red is a very innocent good girl whose parent has sent her off to be married to an old man they have never met. Rumors are he out lives every one of his wives which is strange since he is very old and they are very young. Along come the wolf with the biggest blue eyes you have ever seen who is really more a pussy cat than big bad. At least with Little Red she has him eating out of her hand in no time flat.

I just love this duo of narrators each of their audios have been better than the last. The only problem I have with them is the music was a little loud at times. At other times it was softer and much better. There are no repeat of words, or any background noise that should not have been there. Their character voices are outstanding. They give each character so much emotion you can really feel it. The paint a picture along with the sound effect it is like watching a movie in your head. If any breaks were taken you could not tell. There is no place where the volume changes going higher or lower. You have no trouble knowing who is talking or what they are feeling. It was a wonderful clear, clean, crisp audio you get lost in. The music was to loud at times but it does not take away from this wonderful narration. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for me next. You all are in for such a treat….

There were times in this audio I had to chuckle, and other times I rolled my eyes. You went from a sweet innocent lady who didn’t even know what to call a male’s member to 2 seconds flat calling it a cock when she never knew what it was called. I guess it just popped in her head. I just could not buy into that part. If she was innocent she didn’t stay that way long because she became a wild sex starve innocent women who isn’t so innocent in 2 seconds. I had a hard time buying the things she came up with to say when she didn’t have much of a clue to that kind of act before.  There is a love triangle which I thought was good. I loved the little fairies they were fun. The truly interesting part was what and why the old man wanted a bride. I hate to be harsh but without the narrators this would not have been a very enjoyable story. I would have bought into this had the author stayed in the time period she had picked with more of how the innocent woman were back then. As the author said her mother said there will be part of the marriage act you will not like deal with it. That is all the education she got until she met the wolf.

The wolf is demanding, sexy and cute but at times to wishy washy he must have but no he won’t she must leave. He will stay a wolf the rest of his life because he can’t have her. Then he must have her again but changes his mind. Back and forward we went. It was enough to drive me nuts.

I did enjoy the audio it was worth the listen just for the narration. You decide pick it up and give it a listen. There are so many people who have loved this story and totally enjoyed it from start to finish. You are in for a treat with this narration duo…

Note 3 stars because I enjoyed part of it, laughed a few times and I did love those fairies. 5 Stars narration all the way.

Historical Romance Collection

Historical Romance Collection

Written by: Kathleen Hope
Narrated by: Theresa Stephens
Length: 4 hrs and 31 mins
Unabridged Audiobook
Release Date:03-17-17
Publisher: Kathleen Hope

A collection of stories about four sisters who want to marry military officers and what they have to go through to find one. I really enjoyed the first story the sister is more of a tomboy and wants a man to take her as she is not trying to change her. The other stories are good but I didn’t enjoy them as much as I did the first one. I think they were out of line and would have been better if each story follow the one after it. I got a little confused book 3 I think should have been in the place of book 2 as things happened is one that you were sure took place right after the first book.

Ms. Stephens narration was good there were a few places I didn’t like her character voice but all in all she did a good job. Was not any background noise or any change in volume throughout the audio. She has good tones and pitch for the most part with wonderful emotions that shows throughout the listen. There are no repeats of words or wording, if any breaks were taken I could not tell. Her male voices were just as nice as her female ones which she puts lots of emotion in. I would really enjoy listening to more of her work to get more of a feel of her. I thought her performance was very good and has no trouble carrying out what the story calls for.

I thought only wanting a military officer was a little much but believable. After the first story the rest pretty much followed the same guide lines. Not much of a surprised. I did get a little confused one sister liked dresses but in the next book she wanted to wear pants. It was an enjoyable read but for me after the second story it just all blend together with the others.

If you enjoyed Burning Ember you will definitely want to read this. It was great to see these two characters again getting an update on how they are and what is new in their life.

Honey Scarlett, Leeroy Will narration was out of this world each hitting tones right on the money. You know just who is talking and what they are feeling. For me they made this audio what it is any other narrators would just not do it justice. Honey takes on the life of all the female roles with Lerroy taking on the male. Their many different voices were outstanding never leaving you guessing who was talking and just how they felt. There are no background noises or any places where the volume are higher or lower or tones off.  There was one place where Lerroy repeated his self but no way does it take away from this outstanding narrator. They give you a listen you won’t be able to put down. If they took a break you cannot tell it is just one smooth listen that hooks you from start to finish. They made you feel the emotions at times you even wanted to cry and lord did they make you laugh. There performance was just outstanding giving the listener everything they want as the characters take on a life of their own. Just outstanding narration at its finest. I can’t wait to listen to more from this duo.
It is very short so there isn’t a lot one can say beside I love this author and her writing style. She really pulls you in giving you a very entertaining read that hooks you from the start.

My Review
This is a very short and sweet listen. There is nothing more I can tell you that the author doesn’t have in the book summary. Anymore and it would give the whole book away. I will say this it is a nice way to get a little taste of the author writing style.

Mr. Russell did a wonderful job of narration which a delightful voice that you have no trouble getting lost in. There are no background noises or any places where the audio volume is higher or lower than the rest of the book. He gives you delightful characters that you have no trouble knowing who is talking or what their feelings are. His voice tones gives you all you need to know on what each character is thinking or feeling. I enjoyed his male and female voices. Again it was a nice taste of what this narrator can do to get you invested in other books he has narrated.

I really enjoyed this authors writing style. However just as you were really getting into the story the story ends with you hanging on. I would have loved to have known how this story finishes and just what happens to both of their careers.  I am unsure if this is just a prologue and another book is going to be published with the rest of the story.  I thought the characters where good and the way the scenes play out you have no doubt this is going to be a mess no matter how the author takes it. I have to feel for each one of them and hope for the best and whatever decisions they might make the fall out isn’t too bad. It was a nice taste which I do hope I will get to know the outcome in a full book. I look forward to more from this author.

Rayne's Thunder (Part One): Master Chef (Dating a Werewolf Series Book 1)
by Jami Brumfield

Book Description

Dating a werewolf can get a little hairy, literally and metaphorically. Rayne Manchester's suitors learn this pretty quickly. Rayne and her siblings, Rhyme and River, have been through a lot lately, and the loss of their father was only more fuel for the firestorm that is their lives.

Grief offers a subtle salve to the drama that eats up their existence and leaves them spinning like a tornado, but when their uncle reads their father's last will and testament they discover things are only going to get worse. The will divides the massive estate equally, but there is one catch; all three must be mated and married one year from their father's death. If even one of them fails in this mandate, none of them will inherit! Estranged, the siblings will now be forced to help each other.

Rayne's Thunder is Rayne Manchester's journey toward finding a mate and walking down the aisle. Upcoming, Rhyme's Reason and River's Fire are River and Rhyme's stories to happily ever after.

In Rayne's Thunder, Part One: Master Chef of the Dating a Werewolf Series, Rayne meets her first suitor, Brick. Their date goes well until payback is delivered for the disrespect the two made to the new alpha. Immerse yourself in this series, the characters, and their world. They're waiting for you to join them on their adventure.

Each installment will serve up romance, suspense, intrigue, and action.

Message from Rayne:

My father's death rattled me to the core. A part of me died with him and left my world spinning out of control. I needed the sanity, the comfort home and my pack offered. Returning home was the only option. Father was always overbearing, determined, protective. He felt he knew what was best for all of us, even if it wasn't.

But this time he really overstepped, I mean to tell me who and when I need to marry and mate from beyond the grave is just inexcusable and to make it worse, he wasn't here for me to tell him how furious I was with him.

There's only one saving grace... at least he left me with a decent list. I'm looking forward to my first date with Brick Mason. I hear he's a mater chef and comes from a respectable alpha family in Wyoming. I suppose we'll see. Whatever happens finding true love is going to be an adventure. I hope you'll join me on my journey to my happily ever after.

My Review
5 Stars

This was a good read giving you a little action with a few very controlling men one who just wants the best for his sister the other said he wants what is best for the pack. I am not sure I am buying that but we will see as the story continues. It is hard enough when you are on the outs with your family but what do you do when the father you love who you haven’t seen in years dies leaving a will that said you must marry within a year or you lose everything. He gives you a list of those to choose from some you have never met and others you do not care for. For Rayne she thinks her father has lost it with Storm’s name being added to the list she is sure of it. She doesn’t need the money but the wise father throws in a twist if one does not comply with the rules they all are cut out of the will. The others need the money this first installment in this series is about the fathers will, the trying times for the pack, and Rayne’s first date.

The author gives you lovely characters and tells a little about each in this first installment. Rayne is a strong willed lady who knows her mind not letting herself be pushed around. This does get her into a lot of trouble as you will find as you read this delightful read. This is a very short read which gives you most of the information you will need. I found very little was left out and the author never leaves you hanging. As with most short reads a reviewer cannot give out to much information or there would be no reason for you to read the book.

River her brother is now the alpha and leader of their pack. He isn’t finding that easy with other packs wanting to take it over. He is strong and a loving man who will have some tough decisions to make some will be about Rayne but he must do what is best for the pack. I really liked him he is an upfront person who cares so much and will make a great leader I am sure if he can just find the right mate.

Rhyme is a lovely lady with a few issues she is working through. She and Rayne had a major falling out which tore the family apart. With their fathers dead they have come together and straightened out past mistakes. There isn’t a lot about her in this book but more will come as the series takes off.

The first date for Rayne was interesting as she works her way through the list of men her father gave her. I am not sure what the date thought he was doing which got him and Rayne in a mess of trouble. With Storm to the rescue things heat up. I will be very surprised when this series is over and these two do not end up together. They have wonderful chemistry as the passion heats up but neither seems to be interested in taking it farther. They do not even seem to like each other but we will see…

I thought this was well written with little left out. I understood why the sisters stopped speaking to each other. I could not understand why Rayne did not go home for years why she was away at school. She adores her father I just do not feel the drift between the two sisters would have kept her away from her father. Maybe I missed something but for me this was not explained. That is the only issues I had with this read. I thought the author did an outstanding job of writing a short story and of course this is a cliffhanger but I knew that going in. For a short story that is very interesting the author does hold your attention and gives a well put together story for a reasonable price. She gives you and exciting plot with action and a few thrills that makes this a page turner. If you are into Paranormals and Werewolves I am sure you will enjoy this read as much as I did. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series as well as more from this author. I have found this author does have a reading group if you liked the story you might want to join her FB group.
