Home Sweet Sonoma

Home Sweet Sonoma (Home Sweet Home Trilogy Book 1)
by Georgia James,Deborah Parrish

A cute fun read, slowing down rethinking life and enjoying what life brings you. The plot is good with lots of details given pulling you in. I enjoyed watching Kitty work through her issues in this love triangle, the humor was good even laughed and chuckled a time or two. The twists and turns are cut and fun, a very entertaining read that kept my attention. The characters are likable, the story is believable and realistic. I liked how strong and sure Kitty is over everything but her love life. She must take a closer look before finding what she really wants. I think in some ways we can all relate to her I know there was a time when I had to rethink a relationship and pick between two. I decided neither would do and moved on.

Very enjoyable story with great points of view, wish there were some more scenes with some characters. I think a lot of thought went into write things giving you a story that touches your heart.

Summary
She's savvy and sharp, and loves her fast-paced city life. But whether she's ready or not, Kitty Taylor is about to find herself stopping to smell the rosé . . .

Superstitious, type-A executive, Catherine "Kitty" Taylor, is about to celebrate the greatest achievement of her career with her brilliant lover-lawyer, Nick Dylan, at her side. But when bad news hits the office, Nick races to New York to salvage the deal of a lifetime, forcing their personal lives to take a back seat, yet again.

With life in limbo, an omen compels Kitty to follow a chain of events, luring her to the wine country to celebrate her mother's 70th birthday. But as she steps foot in the door, she witnesses an event which proves that magic doesn’t really exist after all.

Stuck in a crumbling old church that her mother calls home, Kitty is faced with a vineyard bursting with ripe fruit, and must learn to nurture her feminine side, one grape at a time. Luckily, her mother’s rock-solid handyman, Daine Shepherd, who lives on the property, is just the one to help her do it. As Kitty resists, he gently persists, and their attraction grows by the day. She is not only forced to reconsider her relationship with Nick, but her urban lifestyle with all its fringe benefits. Dwelling in the luscious and slow wine country, she finds herself looking in all kinds of surprising places for the love she didn’t even realize she needed.

This wine country romance goes best with a glass of Chardonnay (or Cabernet), so kick back, relax, and follow Kitty on a soulful journey where she learns to trust her instincts and discover what she most wants out of life.

The Prince of Earth

The Prince of Earth
by Mike Robinson

The author gives you a page turn that keeps you hooked from the beginning with a complex story that holds your attention. As your mind spins you are pushed to turn the page to see what the author has in store for you next. I have not read anything by this author and was pleased at how well he pulled me with a well written story of one woman and her family over many years as their lives go on from day to day and things start changing. At first, I thought it is due to stress but it isn’t long before we find it is so much more. It is fast pace with lots of twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat waiting for the next shoe to drop. It is so complex I found I had to go back and read things again a few times. This isn’t a book you want to start if you have other issues going on, it is a book you need to give your full attention to or you will become very confused.

I liked the suspenseful mystery, the thrills and the chills. It really is one heck of a ride that you must pick up when you have time to really give the book the time it needs. The characters are good but very complex. Quincy is so different from how she was twenty years ago when she was care free, now she is a wife and mother working a very stressful job. At first, I thought her job is the reason things are getting weird, she has panic attacks, weird dreams and the list goes on. As you travel down the road she is on you have to wonder what in the heck is going on. I had to wonder right along with her are the dreams real, is she even real, where are the people she has come to love and who is the Prince of Earth? So many questions and just a wild ride that holds you in its hand at times leaving you with your mouth open and other times your mind just goes wild and crazy.

It was an enjoyable ride with some wild interesting writing. It is one that I will read again, I feel like I am still missing some important parts. Is it worth your time yes but only if you have time to give it your full mind.

Summary
In 1988, young American traveler Quincy Redding is trekking across the misty terrain of the Scottish Highlands. She is destined for the infamous peak Ben MacDui, the summit of which soon finds her inexplicably debilitated and at the mercy of a malevolent entity.

The book spans twenty years, alternately following Quincy in her 1988 ordeal in Scotland as well as Quincy in 2008, when, as an adult, she begins experiencing abnormalities that threaten her family and her life – phenomena that may be related to what happened all those years ago.

As both older and younger Quincy learn more of their situation, and as their worlds further entwine, she becomes increasingly uncertain of the perceived temporality or reality of each period.

Girl at the back

Girl at the back

What it must be like to be in love with a person bigger than life in a world that is bigger than life its self only to be thrown into the back hidden from view why you watch the love of your life hang out with beautiful sexy woman as they try to take you place. The kicker being that no one knows about you only a few along with the rock star you call a boy friend. Setting alone only being his when the lime light isn’t shinning. I have very mixed feelings on this book, it has a great plot, an ok read, even a few likable characters. I have a hard time wrapping my mind around anyone agreeing to a life like this. This being the reason I had trouble relating to Leah, she seems so naive and child like at times. What I saw was a lovely girl who let people walk over her and take advantage of her good nature. To me Robbie got famous and let it go to his head, he puts his feelings before others and is very pushy. I just could not connect, I really felt sorry for Leah but as the old saying goes you made you bed….
The plot was good, the danger great, it is a story that does pull you in even if you can’t relate to the characters. I liked how it all came together and how Robbie grow up a little when it came to the danger Leah was in. The twists and turns were good and loved the ending. I thought the author did a good job but has a little more filler than I like. The plot is great but the author just couldn’t keep me hooked, I have a hard time buying that any woman who is going out with a star would put up with the way she was treated. It isn’t a story I would read again but I enjoyed it enough the first time and am glad I read it.

Her Savior

Her Savior (A Rescue Series Novella #2)
by Barb Shuler

WOW life can suck big time when everything in your life is bad from father to boyfriend. Been there done that which made this story very easy to relate to. I can’t think of much of anything worse than finding the man you could live a lifetime with only to have to keep him at a distance because of all the crazy people in your life who won’t let go. I doubt you could read this and not have it touch you in some way. Avery is trying so hard to move on rebuilding her life from alcoholic father and an ex who is abusive it isn’t easy, but she isn’t giving up. Then in walks Brent who is everything she has ever wanted only she doesn’t feel she can have because of her past issues and all they bring. Brent is one hot sexy military man who makes you weak at the knees. He is like most military push, doesn’t give up easy, did I already say HOT well you get the idea. Lucky or unlucky for Avery he isn’t willing to give up and throw in the towel. He just isn’t made that way as he makes it very clear that she is and will be his be damned the fallout and all that it bring with him. If he can keep the world safe he sure as heck can keep her safe, now only to make her believe in him, give him a chance….

Neither was looking for love, but they found it as things take a turn and danger is near Avery is very glad to have him in her corner. He will give up everything if he needs to as the page turns and danger comes near he is willing to give up his life to keep her safe.

I really loved how strong the characters are and the strong message the story gives. It is a story that touched me greatly and is pretty emotional. A short story with a lot fit in it leaving nothing out which is very hard with one this short. There are no fillers just all facts and detailing pulling you in giving you an exciting read that holds your attention from page one. A very intense, suspenseful and at times a very emotional roller-coaster ride. It is very well written with likable characters and some not so likable. The romance is hot, steamy as they finally tell their true feeling from years go by where they both had feelings for each other but never went on them. There wasn’t anything I didn’t love about this story from start to finish. I have read several of this authors books and have totally loved all of them. I know when I pick up one of her stories it will be a wild intense read that will hook me from the start giving me what a grave with suspense and danger, the romance is just a bonus.

Love’s Always Paws-Able

Love’s Always Paws-Able (Love, Take Two Book 1)
by Joanne Jaytanie

Short, sweet and sexy totally loved this story. There is just something about second chance, animals and love that hooks me every time. Two people starting over in a new job for their own reasons, one is following her dreams the other needing some peace and quiet from a very stressful job. What follow is a touching, smooth, well blended romance and a shelter that has issues. I really enjoyed the twists and turns with the mystery, danger and suspense. The characters are very likable and who wouldn’t love these cute animals. Really is a heartwarming read. I see it is in audio and as we all know how much I love them I will have to give check it out.

Bottom line if you are looking for a heartwarming cute read that touches your heart you really want to pick this up.
