A Mommy for Christmas

A Mommy for Christmas (Christmas Town #2)
by Ginny Baird

What a delightful read to put one in the Christmas mood. The books title sure fits this story it is all about one little lonely little girl and her lonely father who have come to Christmas town to be in his sister’s wedding and watch over her home why she is away on her honeymoon.  Christmas town is an amazing town from the streets to the shops and some of the people have Christmas names. Just like all little towns everyone is in every ones business as they play match marker. The story is a mixture of secrets, love, joy, happiness as a town works to bring one of their own home for good. Sandy Claus is an unusual woman full of mystery and a few secrets as she pulls Ben and his daughter into her magical world.

This story worked for me from the delightful characters to the wonderful events and the outstanding shops. You have to wonder what is up with those cookies they have a mystery of their own. Could the legend be true or is it all a lot of wishful thinking to make people show their true feelings?

Ben had it all a wonderful life, wonderful wife and a delightful family he just adored until the day it all came to an end leaving him lonely with just a small child to take care of. His family now broken with his love of a lifetime gone he is left to raise their little girl. He is a wonderful father always putting her first giving her the love and time she needs. Coming to Christmas town has shown him the things he is missing. It also makes Lily make a Christmas wish that didn’t come true last year.

With Christmas so near and two people pulled together as the attraction takes over they can hardly keep their hands to their selves. Will a little girl fondest wish come true or will a secret tear down a couple everyone wants together?

The scenes are very vivid I could picture the snow globe in my mind with the little reindeer at play with snow falling around them.  What a wonderful idea with the sled that she holds so dear to her heart. I loved the princess games and the story behind it. The characters were a delight as well as the wonderful supporting ones. Each adds so much to the story giving you a wonderful read. I did think some parts moved a little fast and I would have liked to have had a little more added to the ending. It really was a delightful story that had me smiling and at times laughing. This is really what the true meaning of Christmas is all about time for each other, love, sharing and giving of one’s heart. There are a few twists that will make you raise an eyebrow holding your breath to see what the outcome is going to be.  I loved the plot and theme it really was a delightful read. It truly warms your heart with characters that feel so real you could almost reach out and touch them. I can’t wait to read the next in this series and revisit with people I have come to love.

If Only In My Dreams

If Only In My Dreams

by Noelle Fox

 My Review
I thought this was a very cute read full of entertaining people and  a great plot.  I thought the characters were great some not so great but that is what the author wanted you to feel. You have many characters that want Amelia attention there is pain from a few and other just need to grow up. The race is on to see who will get Amelia love as these men put on the charm.

There is never a better place than Santa’s village where it is Christmas all year long. Amelia wrote two letters one to a little boy and another to the man who broke her heart. Somehow they got twisted around leaving one boy in tears with Santa’s hateful words. When Amelia found out she called the father. I thought the father was to forgiving I doubt I would have forgiven that fast. But he is a legend in his own mind thinking only of what he wants not paying much attention to his son or the wonderful town they are visiting. His sights are on Amelia, along with drinking and staying out late at night.

Number 2 is the John who got the sweet letter but should have been the nasty one. He was cheering all the way to the bank when he got a letter telling him how much she was thinking of him, sorry for his father etc. He will not listen to reason and just knows he has his lady back, she will understand how the big bad women turned his head. WRONG! But he shows up anyway thinking he has her in his pocket.

Number 3 is a sweet man who lost his wife a few years ago. He is very attracted to Amelia but is a little shy. When the fox came and sets at her door he tells her how to take care of him. He supports her and never wants her to leave. He has his time cut in half with her selling her business he must work fast but there are too many men after her hand.

Time is running out, may the best man win….

I adored the fox and little John both of them are after your heart. My heart broke for John and the way his father dealt with him. Saying he loved his son but just wasn’t ready to be a father….that is just so wrong but there are a lot of people out there that think this way.
I thought this was a cute story that the author put a lot of thought into. There is a lot going on as the author gives you an entertaining plot with great characters. She fills in the blanket well never leaving you to guess what is going on. This is a Christmas story but can be read at anytime. I think most people will like this cute and at times funny clean read.

Book Description
November in North Pole means the Elves are hard at work answering letters to Santa with joy, wisdom and Christmas spirit.

Except for Amelia Beckett, new owner of the Cup of Cheer Café. Amelia just received a let’s-try-again letter from her ex, who moved her to North Pole then skipped town with another woman. Seething, she takes a break from Santa letters and writes a furious answer.

John Kimball asked Santa to fix his Dad who broke after Mom left. The response is so nasty he cries—until a lady named Amelia explains he got the wrong letter, and invites him and Dad to North Pole! Finally they can hang out together . . . except all Dad wants is beer and Amelia. John does have fun with Clara the postmistress and Rudy the reindeer guy, but . . . maybe Mom is right that only Dad can fix himself.

Amelia’s bad man-karma continues until a snarling, injured fox won’t leave her yard, and she’s reduced to begging for help from her neighbor and café regular, Wes Curtis. Wes moved here from Manhattan to craft fine furniture after his wife died. He is tall, dark, talented, funny, adorably clumsy and kind. Why can’t she fall for someone wonderful like him?

Wes has been attracted to Amelia since he first saw her. What’s taken him so long to show his interest? Well, uh . . . See, he’s kinda rusty around women. And he thought he had plenty of time . . . But with Amelia suddenly being pulled in too many directions, he is forced to act.

Sitting in the moonlit woods night after night, watching her and the little fox relax and heal, he is hoping for just enough time to convince Amelia she belongs here in North Pole—and that she belongs with him.

Christmas With the Billionaire Rancher (The Billionaire's Club: Texas Heartthrobs #1)

Christmas With the Billionaire Rancher (The Billionaire's Club: Texas Heartthrobs #1)
by Mandy Baxter
My Review

This was a cute read a little over the top at first. It didn’t take long to get into the story of one man whose father dies and leaves him and his brothers a ton of money. One woman who needs a ton of money to keep her foundation running. You are guessing she must be a gold digger but she isn’t. She is really a down to earth lady who has the heart of gold helping kids get a better start in life. The story is quite good once you get over the shock at the start. The author gives you a mixture of loss, love, hurt, pain and a lot of emotions are flying around with some off the chart. When emotions get in the way people say things they do not mean. These are normal characters with normal lives the only difference is daddy has millions but never gave it to his kids until he died. Now everyone wants that money including daddy’s wife.

Nate has a troubled past which gets in the way of his true feelings for Chloe. As they burn up the sheets along with everywhere else with some very heated scenes they must learn to trust each other and put the past behind them. Nate is a sweetheart of a guy who has issues from his father to his time overseas and the loss of a few good men. He uses sex to deal with those issues until he meets one lady who can calm him with one touch only to find out she is in need of a lot of money. Tempers fly as these two fight it out. Can they overcome the hard words and get down to how they really feel or will daddy’s money get in the way.

Chloe is a sweet lady doing her best to help those that can’t help their selves.  One look was all it took for her to know this isn’t going to end well. The attraction is strong and gets out of hand in a hurry. Talk about a man Nate gets her motor running. She helps him through some trying times with her calming ways. It is true she needs money for her foundation she wonders if it is worth losing the man she has come to love.

This was a humorous read at times the author had me chuckling. The characters are believable and down to earth each having lost something as they try to carry on. Their father’s money seems to get in the way of their happiness. I thought the beginning was a little much but after that I really enjoyed the story. I really liked all the characters but the step mother who is just a gold digger. There are some wonderful emotional scenes along with a few twits that will leave you with your mouth open. You will not have any trouble getting into this story it is a page turner.

The Duke and Miss Christmas (The Heirs' Club of Scoundrels Trilogy #2.5)
by Amelia Grey

My Review
5Stars
This is a charming holiday romance with lots of smiles and laughs and a great addition to this series. The author gives you a wonderful story of misunderstanding where things start flying and tempters rise. This all in the first few pages. I just LOVED it. This is a short quick read that will keep you turning the pages to find out what else these two have up their sleeves as they bait each other.

Crispin comes a pond a little girl setting under a tree he is so sweet, caring and loving it really touches your heart. When he places the little girl on his horse a mad lady come and attacks him yelling let my sister go. This is when it hits the fan so to speak and things get very interesting.

Crispin has been a little of a rake. He has changed his way but it does seem his rep is still damage. He is a lovely character which any women would be proud to call her own if she could catch him. I love his humor and his baiting to bring a smile to Gwen face. He is just a sweet heart who puts family first.

Gwen has been hurt in the past and is will to settle for some sweet, kind there doesn't have to be passion just any old guy would do. She has her sights set one on but with Crispin coming in the picture she finds the other lacking. When she finds out who she attacked she is mortified. There is from batting back and forward between the do as the dance the dance of love. I really like Gwen her heart is in the right place, she is kind and loving. She just protects those around her.

I loved the baiting these two did, the humor keeps you smiling. Each are a lot alike and family comes first. Her brother-in-law and sister are so protective of her. This book is all about family and the love they give each other. The wonderful sister who gets into trouble and the baiting they do with each other. This is a pretty clean read with family values. For me this was a win win read from the first page to the last. With it being a short read there isn't a lot you can say without giving the plot away. The ending is wonderful with more misunderstanding Gwen sure does have a tempter. I sure hope that Crispin is prepare to see it for the rest of his life but first he must win the girl.

I love this authors writing style the way she brings her stories together giving a well written story of sorrow, pain, love and humor. If you pick up one of her book than you know the reason she has won so many awards. I have come to know when I see this authors name it will be a book full of all the things that makes a wonderful romance. I can't wait to read more in this series. They are so full of life, love and happiness.
