Having Hope

Having Hope (Holding Onto Us Christmas Trilogy #2)
by D.B. Jones

It starts off just where the last one left off giving a little background, you could read it as a standalone with the background the author gives but you really should read the first book you won’t be sorry. What a great addition to the first book. The story flow so smooth and easy it is like returning home after being gone for a while. I totally love this series and can't wait to start the next book. There has been an accident leaving Devyn and Tommy are at deaths door, her father finds them and now they are healing with some new excitement to fill their days. Tommy is a wonderful character and son, he worries about his mother and can’t understand why she doesn’t want to be part of his new life. The author gives a heartbreaking read of a woman trying to outrun her demons with alcohol. Anyone who has been around an alcoholic knows the trials Tommy faces with a mother who doesn’t want to give it up. It is just heartbreaking so much to live for but can't see it through the bottle that runs her life.

Tommy and Devyn have started their new life with a new job career in a new home. Her parents are moving down to be near them just in time for a delightful surprise that will change their lives forever. Tommy just wishes his mother would be happy with their surprise, but she seems to not to care. Life has really turned around for them in so many ways, her family now adores him. George and him are as close as son and father could be, but he does own Tommy for the very life he breathes. In the last book Tommy stopped him from shooting his self and gave him hope which in return has given him and his wife the dream they have waited for. That scene was just so touching but so heart breaking.

It was great to get to know these characters better, see how their lives have changed. The author gives you another emotional read filled with a little drama, sorrow and some pain. It isn’t as emotional as the first book but it does touch your heart pulling you in giving you another page turner. I have smiled and chuckled more than once as I watch this family give each other one surprise after another. Watching them build a relationship out of respect and love just warms my heart. A delightful clean read filled with emotions, love, pain, sorrow but with much more humor, laughs and love then the first book. It adds so much to this trilogy with wonderful characters that feel like family. I doubt you can read this series and not fall in love with this family. I know this story bought back a lot of great memories in my own life that I had forgotten. As I read their news I had to remember how my life was at the same time. I smiled, laughed and love with them. The ending is another heart stopping moment that I have to wonder how it will turn out. I can’t wait to start the last book in this series. Bottom line it is well worth your time, totally enjoyable book that keeps your attention, giving you a story you can't put down. I am totally hooked and can’t wait to see how it all plays out.

Struggling To Hold On

Struggling To Hold On (Holding Onto Us Christmas Trilogy #1)
by D.B. Jones

I knew this author could write, but I am blown away by this sweet heartbreaking, emotional, loving read. I can tell this was written straight from her heart she grabbed mine from the first page until the end. Love can be the sweetest things but it can also tear your world apart. Nothing can be worse than falling in love and having your parents try to tear you apart. It seems that George and Susan (Devyn’s parents) live by the rule “at first if you don't succeed try, try again” as they do everything possible to break these two up. At first, I didn’t care for her father at all, but he does grow on you, her mother my feelings for her was up in the air for a while. Tommy is the winner here he stole my heart from the first page, what a loving caring supporting man who gives his all to make the woman he loves happy. Devyn is a bigger winner with me as well, caring, loving and giving she is torn between the man she loves and the love she has for her parents.

The author builds a base that could be easy to tumble down if Devyn and Tommy let it. It seems these two just can’t get a break just as they come together with a united front things fall apart leaving them torn and broken. Just into the first few pages my heart breaks for these two. Many tears will fall from their eyes and yours as life and her parents hit them over and over again. There are twists and turns that holds your attention. When the end comes as two hands reach out to touch each other your heart will be in your throat and you will have tears in your eyes.

The author gave this a lot of thought, and she spins a story that will touch you deep. I doubt you can read this without it touching you in some way. The characters are very likable, the plot outstanding, the emotion, passion, love is to die for. Have the tissues handy you will need them. It isn’t all sadness, there are many smiles, overcome, growing, learning, laughs, building, love and in the end family. I was just in aww from the first page, it is a story I could not put down and read at one setting. My husband looked at me and said when did you start that book? This morning. Wow and you almost done. Yep it was one that touched me deeply and I couldn’t put it down. No truer words have been said I was just in awww. This is a book of three and the first one leaves you hanging but wow for 99 cents you can’t past it up. It is so worth the money plus more, I was spellbound with my heart beating faster many times throughout. I laughed, had tears and just about cried. Once you read it you will know why I picked this as one of my favorite reads. I am off to start book two…..

A wonderful heartwarming box-set that hooks you from the first page to the last by very wonderful talented authors. There is a little of everything for everyone in this set. I totally love these stories.

The Comeback Christmas by Melinda Curtis
This was a very touching story of loss and finding who and what you are. A story of second chances of two people falling in love at a very young age only to find life gets in the way as they break each other heart only to come full circle years late. Do they have what it takes to forgive and love again. I love these characters both are about to loss it all as they find away to help each other and find maybe they need to give love another chance. As all books in this series this was well written. I had trouble putting it down. I have always been a fan of Ms. Curtis. She has done an outstanding job bring this lovely story together.

A Home by Christmas by Anna Adams
Another sweet heartwarming read about second chances and finding out who you are and what you really want. This was a story I could relate to with life being so busy for each of us trying to find time for everyone is hard. So many life lesson these two will have to agree to as they find out the true meaning of love. I just adore the twins each have to over come losing their mother and fear losing their father. This was just a wonderful well written story.

Each of these that I have read are outstanding I cannot wait to finish reading this box-set. I highly recommend you pick it up as the authors gives you a taste of the true meaning of love.
