Saved by My Blackguard: Linked Across Time, Book 1

Narrated by: Ed Wolfe
Length: 2 hrs and 34 mins
Series: Linked Across Time, Book 1
Unabridged Audiobook

What an interesting short story about time travel. Paul is a very over worked man, if he wants to see his next birthday he must take a week off. Deciding to do this he heads to a warm tropical island. When a storm blows in things start getting interesting. Lady Evelyn childhood hasn’t been the best, she can’t wait to move to London marry and have a family. As she sail off to meet her soon to be husband her ship is taken over, than a strong storm blows in leaving her in a mess of trouble. Paul travels back in time when he meets the lovely Lady Evelyn who is in trouble. He takes her by the hand and protects her with his life as they run in to more bad weather and the group of men Lady Evelyn is trying to outrun.

Mr. Wolfe does a wonderful job of narration with only one place he repeats some words near the beginning. He has a very strong powerful voice which really adds to the male characters. His has no problem carrying off his female characters voices from a sexy sweet lady to the servants. There are no background noises or any volume changes. If any breaks were taken you cannot tell. What you will find from this narrator is a very clean, clear audio with delightful tones and emotions. He pulls the reader in with his charming pirate to their mates as well as Paul who is sweet, charming and a true gentleman. His voice rings with vivid details keeping the listener invested and entertained hardly being able to wait what happens next. This may have one repeat of words but it in no way takes away from the performance of the audio which is outstanding. I thought his character voice was just as strong and sexy as his normal voice. You always know what emotion each character is feeling and who is talking. I really enjoyed how he brings this audio to life. I am looking forward to listening to more of his work.

The story was very interesting, I do wish it has been longer. I felt it was rushed a little with both falling in love in a few days. I thought for the time period the love scenes was a little rushed and a little too soon. You will find no fillers in this story every word is needed. The author does give you an entertaining read from a father who doesn’t know how to give love, to some very wicked pirates. As the story ends you can’t wait to see if Paul makes it back to his time and just what happens to Lady Evelyn. The ending is charming and sweet as the author takes you years ahead to see what life holds for these two delightful people.

Agent G: Infiltrator

Agent G: Infiltrator

Written by: C. T. Phipps

Narrated by: Jeffrey Kafer

Length: 6 hrs and 6 mins

Unabridged Audiobook

Release Date:03-29-17

Publisher: Amber Cove Publishing

I really liked this audio when I think ahead to the future I can see this being it. The story goes into the aliens and the issues they had and have with them. When I think about the time they come to earth I really hope I am not here to see it. I do not see any good coming out of it. The author goes into issues that could be touchy from the dead to being a live, the world is not as we know it today. States may or may not be there. The things they do with items we hold precious will blow your mind. Really the whole story is wonderful planned down to the last detail the whole book is mind blowing. I have no trouble picturing this as our future.

Mr. Kafer does a great job in his narration he has an agent voice that really pulls you in as he becomes part of his characters. His voice at first I didn’t care for because it sounded so agent like but I came to understand that is how it needed to be and grew to love it. It is a very strong voice that pulls you in making you forget you are listening as it becomes more of a movie. There are no background noise, no volume changes, and no repeats of working. His character voices are wonderful from his males to his females. His computer voice is so real just like you would picture it. He really brings the danger alive, as well as the excitement from each new obstacle that is overcome. Mr. Kafer puts a lot of emotion into his audio’s giving the reader a wonderful listen. His voice and tones never leaving you guessing you know just what each character is feeling from their excitement to their anger. His performance is outstanding giving you a clear, clean crisp audio you get lost in.

My heart went out to Agent G what it must feel like not to know who you are. Having to overcome so much and learn everything all over again. Than as he felt he was part of the military at one time I really felt for him and what he had become. There is a love interest as well as confusion on his part and on the computer chip in his mind. The world this author built seemed so real as well as the characters. This was an audio I couldn’t put down from the many different things the future holds and the new things it brings as well as the danger, excitement of all the twist and turns that are just so thrilling and at times chilling.  You will never see California or Tennessee along with a few other states the same again. As I listened to this it remind me of the movie V where the aliens wanted and took what they wanted. This is how I see the future if they ever make it here.

I was a little confused at first of what a walk about was but it wasn’t long before the author brought to life just what it entitled and the danger it brings. This is a story of starting over, meeting your past and future head on, reality as well as the danger it brings. It is a story of hope and death, making a difference and just what the military means. What if there was no military who would save us? People become to set in their ways over looking issues but one man sees the future and knows the day will come when we must fight with all we have to keep everyone alive. There are those that feel this fight will never come as they wear their rose color glasses they are in for a rude awaking.

I was drawn from the first page as G is born, how he felt, his confusion and his fight to stay alive and bring justice to a world he doesn’t know. There are things one should never forget, one is how to fight keeping your love ones safe. One man gives his all and may die to save us all. It is setup for the next book in the series at least I hope there is another one. It really hit home for me how easy one gets use to the life we live and forget what we need to remember. I totally was invested and loved this plot, the characters that seem so real. I can hardly wait for the next book I wonder who it will be. There are others on the walk about will they be as interesting as G? I can’t wait to find out what this author has in store for us.

 My Review
This is the series of The Gods Dream Trilogy which was just as outstanding as the first book in this series. This is a complicated read with many twists and turns as Ms. Holland takes you to another world where everything is different. She gives you a well told story with many wonderful characters where god's have over thrown each other taking control of human minds to get energy. The bad god feels he should have all the people worshiping him as he has helped the good gods people more. This is a story of taking back you life when it was in a happier time. People helping people to a common goal and bring back a kingdom.

The author almost brings tears to your eyes as she brings back together a sister and her brother she thought was dead. That was the most touching part of the whole read. This is a story of overcoming your past growing as a person and finding love for so many. Putting a kingdom right and bring the god's back to protect their people.

Noah Michael Levine bring life to this story with his great voice and his even tones. He has a smooth voice that pulls you in. It paints the picture of a place with such color that it almost feels real. You have no trouble knowing if the character is male or female, his emotions fit what the characters are going through. There are no background noise and you can't tell if he takes any breaks. This is just one lovely narration that gives you a wonderful compelling listen.

Ms. Holland always brings a wonderful tale and plot to her story. She has a way of pulling you in and letting the book take you over. This is really a very touching and heartwarming read as the characters take control and start over finding love and building a new life. I love this author's books she is a must have author. If you have read or listen to any of her books she puts family values back into us as she takes us to another place and time. I love this fantasy series where everything is different than earth. The little pet animals will charm you as the characters bring a smile to your face as they touch you with their pain. If you haven't read or listen to any of this author's work you really should. Each book for me is a must have with her wonderful story telling ways that stay with you after you have finished the read.

 My Review
All over a 5 story a 4
The author put some interesting twist in this read with some real sorrow. I kept saying no please no but she didn't it anyway. I really enjoyed book 2 but not as much as I did book 1 mostly due to Rachel and how she deals with issues. When Rachel's two lives meet head on she struggles to keep everyone safe. With the outcome of this book there is only one thing left to do and that will be the start of the next book in this series. The author brings back some wonderful characters as she touches base with the past book. As the War with the Others builds it is harder to keep her secret safe. When this war finally hits some will die and others will be left behind to pick up the pieces. I have to wonder what they outcome will be for so many who have lost so much.

Rachel is a strong bullhead women who will not listen to reason. I really liked her in the first book but not so much in this one. She doesn't really think just runs head on into trouble thinking she is helping when she is not. Her actions made her lose someone very important to her. Rachel really is a very sweet and wonderful lady who just needs to think before she does anything. With what she has planned to do in the next book I sure hope she really thinks before she jumps if she doesn't she could get in the worse trouble ever or even end of dead.

Leonardo is still a wonderful character keeping everyone safe but in this installment things go a little haywire as he has to deal with issues he has no control over. He goes missing and when he is found he just isn't the same. Can love and friendship save him or will his life be changed forever.

Shana Pennington-Baird as the narrator is wonderful she brings so much life to each character. It is easy to tell her males from her females as she creates and gives life to all that is around them. Her voices has even tones with just the right about of emotion for each that you know what they are feeling and where their thoughts are. There is no background noise and no breaks that you can tell. Here tones are even as if she read the book all at one setting. I have listened to a few from this author and have enjoyed every book she has narrated.

The author gives you a wonderful story of people from different lifestyles who come together to make a family as they fight the "others" it is a toss up to who the winner will be. No matter who wins so much will be lost. The author gives out more details as she builds up the series but is still holding her cards close to her chest. She has answered a few questions only leaving you with more unanswered. This is sure a puzzle that the pieces do not fit. I have my guesses but I could be way off base. I can't wait to see how Rachel plays in all of this, There is so much mystery over why her mother will not talk about her parents and what about Rachel's birth? Something is way off there and I want some answers as does Rachel.

I really enjoy these characters as the serve and protect each other. They have built a wonderful home as they bring all the strange into it they have built a family. I cannot wait to see where the author takes this book with the next installment we will be going into the labs. I can't not wait to see what they are like and what all is in there.  I guess you could read this as a standalone but I fear you would be lost even with the author giving some background from the first book. I am really hooked on this series. If you are looking for a book that is different and not like others of this nature give this series a try.

When Rachel's home is ripped apart and a friend attacked, it's clear there is no safe haven. She is no longer running from her past, but trying to survive to make it to her future.

My Review
I thought this book was very interesting with a different twist. The author gives you some really heartbreaking scenes, betrayal no doubt of the worse kind along with starting over. It is never easy to start over when your love one has been killed. For it to happen why in the military to a almost new bride goes beyond the call of duty. I have always said the spouse serve our country just as the ones at war. This book shows that over again, what do you do when it feels like everyone is against you, his family blames you for his death, your military friends are no longer your friends. You pack up and go where? Home? There isn’t anything waiting there for you, with nowhere to go or run to lick her wounds Rachel decides to go to the one place she has never been. The grandmother she has never met left her a big estate. Everything, money, a big house and a note that said I am sorry. The mystery begins as Rachel starts over rebuilding her life. What she finds is life might not be as safe as she goes into the forest, she feel something there she is afraid, then it attacks, something or someone comes along, she passes out and wakes to a voice that said do not be afraid I will not hurt you, you are safe. She sees nothing but feels comfort, the voice keeps her there until morning than tells her how to get home and never come back. She doesn’t know what to feel or think. There is a man who is watching her making her feel uneasy, he comforts her which even unsettles her more. What is he talking about, what could this all mean….Danger is near, nearer than she thinks….There are to many secretes that she must uncover to find the true meaning and just what did her grandmothers note mean? She finds not everyone is happy she is there, to many things go wrong, to many people are on the hunt…but for what?

The narrator Shana Pennington-Baird I thought did a great job of narrating. Her different voices added a lot to the audio. It was easy to tell which was male and female and what emotions she was trying to betray. The only problem I saw in this audio was at the beginning of some chapters her voice was louder than the one she just finished. I am guessing this is when she took a break and came back to start recording again. I cannot say it took away from the audio it was more of wow that is different but it isn’t long before you get right back into this story. It was a story I did have trouble setting down and really wanted to continue it. There was no background noise at all just nice smooth listening with just the voice getting louder at the beginning of some chapters.  Would I listen to more by this narrator you can bet the bank I would. She really does have a smooth voice that pulls you in and holds you there, at times with your heart in your throat.

The author gives a story with many twists and turns that will keep you interested as she tells you a heartbreaking story of love lost and starting over. She takes you on a journey through the forest of the unnatural and Rachel pieces together her family, their lies, betrayal which will cause her lots of pain. It is heartbreaking to see these half human half animals and all they have had to deal with. Life is dangerous as a bounty hunter is following her wanting information she doesn’t have.  He will get his information at all cost whatever it takes.

You get to meet some wonderful characters that have their own painful story to tell. They come together to unite as a family keeping all those like them safe. Each are special in their own way but Leonardo stands out as he keeps Rachel safe through the many different issues that happen.  As a reader it is hard for your heart not to go out to these characters when you learn their story. Rachel at times I just wish I could have pulled her out of the book to safety and take her sorrow away. The author gives you characters you do not know if you can trust one minute and the next they are dearing and you just love them. Do not believe everything you see for it might not be. As I listened along thoughts started stirring and I thought this it is how it is. To find out I was correct I was like YES but I never thought it was going to be that way. I would have to say the ending is painful and heartbreaking but at the same time sweet and happy. You are torn between how you think it will go and how you want it to end. This is a series and I am so looking forward to seeing what the author has in store for me. This story can go many different ways and with this authors mind you just never know. If you haven’t read anything by RM Alexander this would be a great one to start with. The audio is outstanding as the book is.
