Matched (Misfit Brides of Bliss #2)
by Jamie Farrell

My Review
5 Stars
I have totally loved this series as Ms. Farrell brings a wonderful refreshing breath of fresh air to her stories. Jamie puts the laugh back in laughter with her wonderful sense of humor that will keep you smiling and laughing throughout her stories. There is nothing better than second chances to be able to redo or undo the hurt and pain. Lindsey and Will get this chance as they take a walk down memory lane. Lindsey is a little on the bullhead side she is scare to see things as they truly are. Her fears just might keep her from the love of her life. Will never understood how she walked away from him. He was hurt so bad now he must decide if it is worth the risk to try again.

Both have fears, but love with all they have as each has something the other needs. Lindsey needs to try to find her true self and be what she is meant to be. Will is just what the doctor ordered even if Lindsey herself doesn't agree. Will needs to be able to write again and he can only do this with Lindsey near

The author brings back some wonderful characters as we see where they are and what is going on in their lives. She also bring some new ones that might be a little on the crazy side. So many people need help Lindsey might be the only one who can help them but first she must believe in herself.

I loved this couple as they butt heads to find their way to a HEA they will have to go through some painful memories and more heartbreak before they can even find happiness. I love bliss it is a town with so much going on the QG is a hoot as she pushes her way to get what she wants. This is one time she might not get it!

Jamie gives you a very well written story that you will not want to put down. Her writing style is like no other as she gives you a story you can sink your eyes into. This will be a book you have trouble putting down. I found Miss Jamie when she wrote her first book and have been hook on your stories every since. I know when I see her name it is a book I must have that it will be loaded with fun and humor as she tells a story of heartbreak and pain. Her stories are always highly entertaining as Match is. If you are looking for a story full of humor, drama, with just the right touch of spice than you need to pick this lovely read up. Find out whatever one is talking about with the supernatural who can tell if you are with the correct match.

Book Description
Lindsey Castellano couldn’t ask for more. She’s the most successful divorce lawyer ever raised in Bliss. (Never mind that she’s the only one.) She’s her nephew’s favorite aunt. (For the moment, anyway.) And thanks to a little gift (or curse) from the universe, she’s an expert at avoiding love, commitment, and inevitable heartbreak. Or so she thought until the night of her sister’s wedding.

Will Truitt might’ve grown up living a country song—his momma died, his daddy went to prison, and his dog ran away—but as an adult, he’s been blessed by the country rock gods. Being Billy Brenton on stage isn’t an honor he takes lightly. He likes to give back what fame has given him, which is how he finds himself happily crashing a wedding in this quirky little bridal-obsessed town. The one thing he isn’t counting on, though, is colliding with the only girl he ever let himself love.

It’s been fifteen years since Lindsey shattered his heart. Then, she’d been a sorority girl on her way to the top, and he’d been a lowly janitor with a little bit of a dream. Now he’s on top of the world, and she’s the last person he should need or want.

But she’s the only person who has ever inspired his music. And he’s the only man she’s never been able to forget. Have the years made them wiser, stronger, and better able to love, or this time, will they simply crash and burn harder?

Shadow of Doubt
    Written by: W. J. May

Length: 6 hrs and 26 mins
    Unabridged Audiobook
    Release Date:03-12-14

 My Review
4 stars
This was a very different kind of read or listen a little on the strange side. I still do not understand why the shadows turn into humans at night. It does make an interesting read but I can't say very believable. I also have to say if you are going to read the shadow books you will want to get both either in audio or book form for it all to come together. Book one left me a little confused where as when I read book two it made it a wonderful read. I totally loved the ending and that is what made this book for me. I am really glad I decided to read book 2 which cleared up a little of my confusion just not all of it. It was worth my time listening to this and I really enjoyed this second part.

Lee Strayer as a narrator did a wonderful outstanding job bring the story together for me as well as his voice which was clear. His many different voice were nice you had no trouble seeing who was talking. There were no background noises as well as no breaks that I could tell. I did not care for the music at all I found it to be interrupting but besides that I totally loved the narration.

I really liked how the author brought in a past love and all the drama she brought. This really made the story interesting and added so much to the story. The ending is wonderful and I never saw that coming even though the author does drop a few hints I just never saw anything good coming out of it. It does seem I was so wrong in my thinking. I feel a lot of people will really enjoy this story.

Never Give Up
by Heidi Lis

My Review
5 Stars
This story really touched my heart. I love second chance stories that bring a smile to your face as it tears your heart apart. Getting back together is never easy but when you hold secrets
it is even harder. When those secrets come out at the worse time nothing good can come out of it. Heidi gives a wonderful story of lost love finding their way back only to have it all almost taken away again. This was a very touching read that will break your heart and bring a tear to your eyes. So many people hurt, so many tears cried, so many people to blame, so many lies told and so much time lost because two people decided to play god to one girl they were suppose to love and take care of. Two people who love so much have parents that think they know what is best for them takes steps to keep them apart. This was a very emotional read that really reaches in and touches your heart.

I could relate to Elsa I felt her pain as not only a young girl but as an adult. There is nothing worse than to lose those you love, some people taken away from you only to find out years later that the ones that should love and support you is now you worse enemy. At first I did not care too much for this character all she did was cry after 5 years still trying to get over a lost love. Once Micah came back into her life and you know all the facts your heart breaks and all you want to do is set beside her hold her and cry with her.

At first I didn't understand Micah his reason for leaving without a word was hard for me to buy but once the author gave all the facts it was very touching. Micah had little choice but to join the military it was a family tradition. He couldn't say good bye or he would never have left. He does send his brother to talk with her but her parents step in taking away that right as they have so many others. On returning and getting out of the military the first thing he does is look up the girl he left behind only to be told he she has moved on and forgotten him. He decides to move on start up with a new lady. This is where the story gets very complicated as he finds out all that he has lost and all that he wants back.

I found this to be an easy book to get into with a slow start but was soon a page turner to find out what else could go wrong for these two people. The author gives a wonderful plot with a heartbreaking story which will hold your interest as the characters take on a life of their own. The one thing the author never told me was why in all the 5 years he never came home to visit his family. This just seems a little off but it does work well with the plot. This was a book I could not put down the author had me so pulled in as she twisted the plot to bring so much pain and heartache. She gives you a very steamy read with so much passion of lost love that could not get over each other. This is a very emotional and touching read leaving you with the question how can parent that say they love you treat you so bad when you needed them most. Never Give Up is about losing it all only to come together to fight for what is right, taking back what is yours. It is a well written story that will blow your mind with all the author has in store for you. I have been with this author from the first and I must say she has really grown in her writing as well as in her plots. Each book gets better and better. Never Give Up is a keeper you will want to read more than once.

Broken Illusions
by Dori Lavelle

My Review
5 Stars
What a great way to end a series as the author gives you a thriller and a little mystery as a women takes control of her life of abuse to come head on to almost losing her mind. Hailey  has spent many years living with a controlling man who came to be her worse nightmare. As you have read in the past books Jude is dead and life should be easier for Hailey. She just cannot move on as she takes one day at a time trying to gain her ground starting over. Starting over isn't easy when your past still has control of you.

As is the norm for one of Ms. Lavelle's books you really cannot put much about the book in your review or it will give the whole story away. What I can say is this has been a wonderful outstanding series that shows the darker side of this author. She gives a wonderful read with a plot that will have you on the edge as she twists and turns her way through the pages you find you heart in your throat more than once. When I finished book 2 the thought did cross my mind that this could be the ending. I wasn't overly shocked as I should have been but yes I was surprised. I will have to say the author did throw a surprise in with Hailey sister and the neighbor that was a little of a shock. This is one series that will bring out your hate for one man why you love the other. You will have very strong feelings and I doubt you can read this and not have it touch you leaving a mark on your heart. What is that saying Just when you think it is safe to come out of the dark....Not everything is as it seems there is still more darkness to come as you pick this up and read it you will truly be shocked.

Hailey is a wonderful character it was a pleasure to watch her grow strong and take back her life. She can stand on her own and she will fight to the death to give her life meaning. It was a pleasure to see her come out fighting never bending or giving in until she brought the devil his self to his knees.

I thought it has a wonderful ending and you do get your HEA but not before a lot of pain as Hailey feels she is losing her mind. She knows Jude is dead but she can't forget, now she is sleepwalking and doing crazy things. She has to wonder if after everything she has overcome will Jude still win.

This was a great series with a lot of pain and sorrow. It is a story that most can relate to even if you have never been abused. Jude is a monster of the worse kind and it was a pleasure to see him get what was coming. Now if only Hailey can get her life back on track as she works to her HEA. Before this happens she must go through some very trying times which will be very painful. As she takes on the devil his self she must pull from her enter strength to find the will to fight for her life.

The author gives you a wonderful plot with wonderful characters. She gives you a believable story that will bring you to tears as it shocks you. I have been following this author from her very first book and she has really grown as an author. You really should give this book a read. I will be rereading it again as she takes me on a trip through hell and back only to re-travel the same road again.

The Second Wife
by Kishan Paul

My Review
5 Stars +++++++
This is the second book I have read by this author and I have to say it is the best. After reading Blind Love I do not know what I expect but it sure wasn't this. The author gives you adventure with many twist and turns. Things are not always as they seem for sure. This is really an outstanding read of survival, getting even, taking back your life, facing your fears as you face your past which you have lost and learning to start over again when you do not know which way to turn. I can't even image going through what Alisha did. It would be bad enough being taken but to being taken to another country where everything is so strange you wouldn't know which end is up. To live day to day in a country you do not even know their language with no friends to talk to only a doctor and your husband who isn't your husband would be ungodly. Than to be taken and beaten over and over again for little or no reason is just mind blowing. What this author gives you is a well told story with a wonderful plot of one women and how she survived building a new life and a new family that gave her the reason to carry on.

Alisha is a sweet wonderful caring lady that gives so much of herself to everyone. She has a wonderful husband who adores her. A loving family that bring a smile to her face with their love. She has the best and everything any women could want until the day she walked outside and someone took her to a new country, killed people in front of her and became her worse nightmare. She prays for someone to come get her and take her home. She prays for the love of her life until the day she sees a picture and knows her life is over. She has nowhere to go, no one to love and no reason to live until the day she built her new family from those around her that are going through the same thing she is. Will this nightmare ever end? Will she ever find a way out and a place to call hers?

David remembers it like it was yesterday even through it has been two years since the love of his life came up missing. He has turned over every stone, she is nowhere but in his dreams. Those wonderful dreams at night when he is asleep she comes to him he reaches out and touches her only to wake and find she is gone. After two long painful years he has found someone who can make him smile again. If she could only make him forget.....until the day a man came to him and said your wife is alive and is the second wife of another man. He leaves no stone unturned as he finds away to get to her and bring her home but will it be too late?

What makes this such an outstanding read from me is the plot and the writing style of this author. I have said it before and I am saying it again this is one author you want to keep your eyes on. This is a very believable plot with some wonderful caring characters. Some you will love and others you will want to kill yourself. The author gives you all the fact without throwing them in your face. You know what happen and you know it is terrible but you do not read all the details. You can feel the pain of the victim as she is rape and beaten but it is told in away that your mind can handle it. There are so many victims here from one man that hates. No one said no to him if they do he kills them or takes them. No one has been able to stop him. Alisha believes she can and will die trying, she has nothing to lose and nothing to live for. He must die, his evil must be stopped. There is many more beside her that have paid his price. She vows no more will die because of him. David isn't walking away he will make this man pay for what he has not only done to him but his wife. He will not leave Pakistani without her. Now it becomes a fight to the death who will live and who will die.

This is one book I could not put down it held my interest like no other one has in awhile. There were times my mouth fell open and my hand went over it as I read. There were times I was close to tears as the author took me through the pages of hurt and pain. Many times I thought let me in a room with him and I will happily take him out. It has been a long time since a story has touched me so deep that I felt it all the way to my soul. I love the fact that it is told in a way that shouldn't trip any wires in your brain if you have been abused. It is a story you can relate to without having to read word for word what was done. I just love this book and plain to read it again. Most likely over and over again throughout the years. I think most who read this will not be able to walk away without being touched in some way. I know this review does not to justice to this book, there are no words to say just how wonderful this story is as you are taken to another place and another time of your worse nightmare.  I highly recommend you pick up The Second Wife and give it a read.

 My Review
All over a 5 story a 4
The author put some interesting twist in this read with some real sorrow. I kept saying no please no but she didn't it anyway. I really enjoyed book 2 but not as much as I did book 1 mostly due to Rachel and how she deals with issues. When Rachel's two lives meet head on she struggles to keep everyone safe. With the outcome of this book there is only one thing left to do and that will be the start of the next book in this series. The author brings back some wonderful characters as she touches base with the past book. As the War with the Others builds it is harder to keep her secret safe. When this war finally hits some will die and others will be left behind to pick up the pieces. I have to wonder what they outcome will be for so many who have lost so much.

Rachel is a strong bullhead women who will not listen to reason. I really liked her in the first book but not so much in this one. She doesn't really think just runs head on into trouble thinking she is helping when she is not. Her actions made her lose someone very important to her. Rachel really is a very sweet and wonderful lady who just needs to think before she does anything. With what she has planned to do in the next book I sure hope she really thinks before she jumps if she doesn't she could get in the worse trouble ever or even end of dead.

Leonardo is still a wonderful character keeping everyone safe but in this installment things go a little haywire as he has to deal with issues he has no control over. He goes missing and when he is found he just isn't the same. Can love and friendship save him or will his life be changed forever.

Shana Pennington-Baird as the narrator is wonderful she brings so much life to each character. It is easy to tell her males from her females as she creates and gives life to all that is around them. Her voices has even tones with just the right about of emotion for each that you know what they are feeling and where their thoughts are. There is no background noise and no breaks that you can tell. Here tones are even as if she read the book all at one setting. I have listened to a few from this author and have enjoyed every book she has narrated.

The author gives you a wonderful story of people from different lifestyles who come together to make a family as they fight the "others" it is a toss up to who the winner will be. No matter who wins so much will be lost. The author gives out more details as she builds up the series but is still holding her cards close to her chest. She has answered a few questions only leaving you with more unanswered. This is sure a puzzle that the pieces do not fit. I have my guesses but I could be way off base. I can't wait to see how Rachel plays in all of this, There is so much mystery over why her mother will not talk about her parents and what about Rachel's birth? Something is way off there and I want some answers as does Rachel.

I really enjoy these characters as the serve and protect each other. They have built a wonderful home as they bring all the strange into it they have built a family. I cannot wait to see where the author takes this book with the next installment we will be going into the labs. I can't not wait to see what they are like and what all is in there.  I guess you could read this as a standalone but I fear you would be lost even with the author giving some background from the first book. I am really hooked on this series. If you are looking for a book that is different and not like others of this nature give this series a try.

Be Mine
by Isobelle Cate

My Review
5 Stars

This books starts off a little slow but when it takes off it takes off with a bang. You have to people who have been hurt and betrayed in the worse way. Both have trust issues as they have build up walls around their heart. As they come together and finally fine happiness working through their issues you would think life would come up roses. In this case you have an ex who will not let go, a father who wants his son, a sister who just wants to get to know her brother. Just as you think you worked out one issue the author throws a twist you do not see coming. Before you know it you are hooked on a page turning read you can't put down.

Gracie is a wonderful sweet lady who just wants a normal life. She runs into a man who knocks the breath right out of her. He then more or less stalks her until she gives him her attention. She fights the pull as the attraction is strong, it isn't long before she finds she is fighting a losing battle.

Luke is a love them and leave them man who never sleeps with the same women twice. He is bored with life and looking for something more. When he runs into Gracie and almost knocks her down all it took was one look into her eyes and he was hooked. There is no way this woman is getting away from him. He follows her home and makes her give him her attention. One thing leads to another as he rocks her world.

This is where things gets interesting as the author puts a little suspense into the read. Things might now be as they seem. People want things and they will take them anyway they can get them. They use people twist things to their way of thinking. Just as the cards look like they might be staked in Luke and Gracie's favor they find the cards are about to fall down all around them. Can love keep them together or will life pull them apart?

This is a very interesting read as the author gives you a wonder story of lose, criminals, heartbreak, starting over and learning to love again. She gives you some very steamy heated love scenes that will burn up the pages and make you blush. For me once this book took off I could not put it down and had to read it at one setting. I love this authors writing style as she gets your blood pumping between your love scenes and her wonderful suspenseful plot. This is one story I would enjoy reading again.
