You Own Me (Owned #1)
by Mary Catherine Gebhard
I am really torn on this review there were parts in this book that I thought were great other parts I was totally lost. Some of this made sense other parts made none. The book started out really slow for me, around the middle it got my interest and then it went back to being slow. There are to many secretes with no answers which leaves way to many questions. I had an issue with the repeats of saying the same thing over again. There is really no ending you never know if they end things or keep things as they are. The wife threw me as well as Lenny going to OMG I am xxxx to well that is find wife is no big deal.

Now that I said what I didn't care for let me tell you what I liked. I really like Vic even though I thought he was weird at times. He was a strong alpha male who I really believed cares and loves Lenny but lies to her to keep her. I thought that lie was a little off it didn't make sense. When it came out he lies now that makes sense. Vic is a protector and protect those around him. He wasn't a character you liked right away he came across stuck on his self but turns out he really is a wonderfully sweet man.

Lenny I just do not know what to think of her beside she needs to see a head doctor. She comes across as a normal person and than changes into a head case. You never really know if she really is seeing ghost or if her mind is working overtime. Most of the time she is a really likable person. Your heart does go out to her with the hard life she has lived with parents that need help but never got it. Her mother dies early in her life from hanging herself. Lenny is the one who found her which could be the reason she has so many issues. Her ex Dean was a trip and got what he deserved even though she thought that was a little to much. She ran from Vic for what he did to Dean but gets over that fast and falls for Dean. Lenny is one messed up lady no doubt about it.

One reviewer said this was a book all about sex with no story. I do not agree there is no sex until you are well into the book. There is a story just confusing as times of where it is going to go and how it got there. The sex scenes are on the hot side but Vic said they can't and only goes so far. One day they go all the way so no there isn't that much sex in this story.

There are parts I really enjoyed when Vic and Lenny meet that butt heads. Lenny's ex coming for her had my heart in my throat. At times I thought it was a great read and other time I thought it was a little over the top. My honest thought is this is a 3.5 Star with some great parts and some not so great. I can't say it is a book I want to read again and I feel some of it could have been cut out to make it a better read but all in all it wasn't a bad story and does have a good plot. You judge for yourself some will love this and others may not. For me I am still on the iffy side. I didn't hate it but I didn't love it either.

Book Descrption
"I'll love you until you break my heart. I'll give you the broken pieces of my heart as an offering to you, because you own it. Whole, shattered, alive, or dead; you own my heart no matter what condition it's in. I'll stay with you until you figure out how to feel. I'll stay with you even if you never do."

This is a story about happiness, and how it doesn't simply happen because you fall in love.

Lennox is on the run from her ex-boyfriend. She had to drop everything, tell no one, and move to a new town, alone. She expected to be lonely, she expected to be afraid, but she never expected to meet a man named Vic who drove her crazy with lust and anger and called her "Lenny." If it's at all possible, Vic is more twisted than the man she ran away from.

She should ignore him, but they're drawn to each other like magnets. Lennox ran from from Seattle to Santa Barbara to get away from violence, to create a new life, and to be something simple. Instead she's found herself wrapped up in great friends and an epic love. This new life is the opposite of everything she wants, but it might just be everything she needs.
Capturing Christmas (Rodeo Romance #3)
by Shanna Hatfield

My Review
This is one author that put the twist in to twist with this mind blowing twist you won't see coming. You have never seen a storm like the one Celia is about to lay on one Kash Kressley. Fist fly along with knees as she gives him a taste of his own medicine. Kash doesn't know what hit him as tempters fly with one crazy Redhead.

There is no doubt that Celia got Kash attention from the first moment he laid eyes on her. That red hair sure does hide one tempter under it one minute she is hot and the next she is cold. She has him all tied up in knots just what he doesn't need with his world blow up with family issues.

Celia only wants to be the top photograph which is hard when you live in a man's world. When Kash horses almost run her down and he saves the day he got her attention. Things seem to be going great the attraction is strong until he man hands her then he gets a taste of her tempter which leaves him reeling. Just when things couldn't get crazier Kash goes and puts his foot in his mouth and Celia is off again with tempter flying.

I loved Kash father he is a sweetheart I really hope as some point he gets a happy ever after. With the life he lived raising his sons and his wife walking out on him I sure hope he can find a lady to love. Kash brother well now he is something else. He isn't happy working in the family business and loves to cause trouble. He is one character I would love to read his story I do believe there is one women that is about to set him on his ears.

The author gives you a page turner as she brings you history from time long ago. I really enjoyed reading it. You can tell she did her research well. I loved the Christmas decoration that Celia made to fix the house up. If you get a chance you might want to check out Ms. Hatfields pinterest board that snowman is something else. You learn about the Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund which help those cowboys hurt during a rodeo. I had no idea there was such a foundation. She got my attention with the recipe Celia made that had those cowboys hooked on which to my delight she gives the recipe at the end of the book. I can't wait to try the recipe for Nut Goodie Bars I am sure it will be a hit in my home.

This author gives you all the above along with a well written story where two people just can't seem to get it together. There are misunderstandings, pain as these two work out issues of love. She gives you a nice clean read that at times toes the link filled with passion. You get to see past characters that you have come to love seeing how their lives have changed. This is just a delightful read with wonderful characters. I loved Celia as shows these men a thing to two. The beginning has me laughing up a storm as she puts one cowboy in his place which will make you laugh. There was a big shocker that has you going OH MY what a mess this is going to be. From the rodeo clown (who I hope gets his own story someday) to the cowboys teasing and all that is in between you are going to fall in love with this story and it wonderful characters. This author had me hooked from page one all the way to the end which leaves you wondering if these two will ever get it together. It does seem as soon as one foot is taken out of the mouth another goes in. What a fun read with so many mishaps and crazy people who will keep you laughing. For me this was another winner Ms. Hatfield sure out did herself on this one.

Celia experienced the most unreasonable urge to run her fingers along the stubbly expanse of his cheeks, down his square jaw, and over his strong chin. Mesmerized by his full bottom lip, she inhaled a deep breath and nearly choked.

The very scent of him hinted at a lethal combination of freshly fallen snow, a warm winter fire, and sweet seduction rolled into one incredibly enticing package.

The Christmas Cowboy (Rodeo Romance)

    Written by: Shanna Hatfield
    Narrated by: Luke E. Andreen

Length: 7 hrs and 41 mins
    Unabridged Audiobook
    Release Date:12-02-13
    Publisher: Shanna Hatfield

This author always brings a smile to my face as she gives you a wonderfully written story with such passion but is still able to give you a clean read. The Christmas Cowboy isn't just a Christmas time read but a read for anytime you just want a nice read filled with a little mystery, rodeos, cowboys, a hot tempters lady, that toes the line and pushes just a little with passion. I really enjoyed this read of passing in the night trying to make times for each other when they live hours away along with traveling to get in their way. This author shows if there is a will and love you can make it work.

Kenzie has been burnt before with cheating cowboys. First her father who she adored and than her ex she has no time for men in cowboy boots who do not know how to keep their hands to themselves. She keeps running into Tate every time she gets on a plane. There is just something about him she can't walk away. With many misunderstanding there just doesn't seem to be a way to make this work. Kenzie is just a lovely kind sweet lady who gives so much of herself to those she loves. Love has not been kind to her she has trust issues and doesn't take time to really think things over as she flies off the hand and runs to save her heart.

Tate is just a good old sweet cowboy who never would cheat, he isn't into settling down but with one lady catches his attention it looks more like he just might be hooked. That is if he can get the lady in question to stop jumping to the wrong concussion. He might just have to tie her down to make her listen. The women do seem to love this man as much as I do. He is innocent of all charges. This is a man every woman would be honored to call their own. When he gets hurt it will break your heart he was doing so well but his head isn't in the game. Will he win at love or will he lose all his dreams.

I just loved Tate's father he is a sweet heart and gives Tate words of wisdom. Tate doesn't need them as she chases the women across the country to make her his. You will love each character as this author puts a smile on your face. You have stalkers which will bring danger, love like no other which will last a lifetime.

I listened to this on audio with Luke E. Andreen as the narrator. He does a wonderful job with his tones and emotions as he brings this story to life. You always know which character is talking by his many different voices. You can hear the hurt, passion, love, anger, laughter in his voice and he gives a compelling voice to this wonderful story. This audio flows easy with no breaks or background noise. He makes you fall in love with each character as your heart breaks for Tate and all the misunderstands that comes his way. Luke as a wonderful voice that is smooth and flows easy to the ears. At times he has a very sexy voice that pulls you in and takes you away. I have enjoyed listening to him very much.

This is a well told story with a wonderful plot full of pain, sorrow, loss and love. There will be times you will laugh and others where you are sad. This is one author that knows how to pull on your heartstrings. I love the characters and found this to be a very believable read. At times I forgot it was fiction as the author and narrator took me away to a wonderful ride in the rodeos. If you haven't read the Rodeo Romance this is the one you want to start with. There is still enough time to read both books before the new one comes out.

Book Description
You never know where you'll run into love...

Flying from city to city in her job as a busy corporate trainer for a successful direct sales company, Kenzie Beckett doesn’t have time for a man. And most certainly not for the handsome cowboy she keeps running into at the airport. Burned twice, she doesn’t trust anyone wearing boots and Wranglers, especially someone as charming and handsome as Tate Morgan.
Among the top saddle bronc riders in the rodeo circuit, easy-going Tate Morgan can handle the toughest horse out there, but trying to handle the beautiful Kenzie Beckett is a completely different story.
As the holiday season approaches, this Christmas Cowboy is going to need more than a little mistletoe to win her heart.

FLASH FIRE (Civilian Personnel Recovery Unit #2)
by Dana Marton

My Review
I just love this series Ms. Marton spins another outstanding read of danger, action, thrills, heartbreak, mystery in this fast pace action thriller. She takes us back to the jungle where Clara is ending her assignment only to get a call from a love one with a heartbreaking tale that will break her heart. She takes on this assignment out of love to the two most important people in her life. She isn't happy about it but love makes you do many things you do not want to. To top that off she has to work with the crazy mercenary who has a death wish and has an agenda of his own. These two hit head on as sparks fly leaving Clara wondering if her father is nuts for setting her up with such a fruitcake. There is something to say when a book starts out with a man waking up with a scorpion in his pants next to his most personal parts. I had to laugh as my mouth went into O....as I shook my head thinking this can't be good.

Clare always gets her person they might not always come out a live but she always brings them home. American teenager disappears abroad Clare finds herself in more danger trying to put the pieces together to help find a teen. The pieces just do not fit as they go through the pace of finding out just where this teen might be and if she is dead or alive. Clare is a strong willed bullheaded woman that does not give up easy. It seems Light Walker is more interested in sending her back to the USA which she is having nothing to do with. He shows her a wild reckless side she isn't to crazy about. As she finds out more about him and his death wish for revenge she takes on the tacks of keeping him alive if she can only stay alive herself.

Light Walker is on a mission of his own and the flighty Clare is not only getting in his way but going to end of dead if she isn't careful. He has enough on his plate with all his plans falling into place. Now he has to keep her alive take care of the issues as hand as he runs with the big boys in drug running plotting gang against each other which is about to come to ahead and most likely will leave him dead. He must make a choice revenge and most likely death or Clare who seems to be growing on him.

The surprises Ms. Marton throws in will have your brain twisted trying to work out this mystery. She throws you curves, hot tempters, passion as she brings you to the edge with danger, mystery and lies. You get to meet some very seedy characters who do not know which end is up as Walker runs into one trouble after another with Clara usually in the middle of it. She is worse than a dog with a bone when she is on the hunt. Light Walker drags her to questionable places as he tries to show her the best place for her is at home. She isn't into putting her tail between her legs and running unless of course someone has a gun pointed at her than she is all into running her legs off in the other direction. This is one book full of danger as the author keeps you laughing from one mishap to another.  Where ever Walker goes there are usually dead bodies when he leaves, leaving Clara in shock at how easy he can take a life. Yep this is one nutty, crazy mercenary. Clara decides she might be better off on her own but Walker isn't having any of that. You do not want to miss watching the sparks fly between these to wonderful characters in this action pack thrilling read..

I love these characters even the drug runners who aren't too smart are pretty cool. I totally enjoyed the action scenes and loved the blowing up parts. Dana paints a picture that you can almost see in your mind. I have been hook on this authors from first book that I picked up. She is my go to author for everything I want in a story. I cannot wait to see the next book she pulls out of that wonderful mind of hers.

If you enjoy books by Nora Roberts,  Linda Howard, Cindy Gerard, or Anne Stuart you will love Ms. Marton's books. I highly recommend any book this author writes she always gives you entertainment at its finest with her action pack reads filled with danger, mystery, love as she worms her way into your heart. She is my go to author for smiles, laughs as she pulls me into a fast pace plot where things usually blow up or lots of gun fire usually with a little heartbreak as she spins a tale and sparks fly as trouble comes knocking on their door.

Tame a Wild Heart

 My Review
This was an audio that pulled me in it is full of danger, mystery and overcoming the lose of the one who walked away. There is nothing like your first and only love walking away breaking your heart that is so strong you vow to never love again. This is the first book I have listen/read of Ms. Woolf's I enjoyed it so much I found a few more at a bargain and bought them as well. I loved the love/hate going on with this couple, along with the plot, the characters are strong, they fight hard and love even harder. The author gives you some pretty heated scenes but stays in the guidelines of the values from that time period. This was a time when a person word meant something, promise were kept and a man stood beside his word. I totally enjoyed this audio.

Catherine fell in love with Duncan when she was but a child at age 16 he got on his horse and rode out of her life. She watched him leave with tears in her eyes swearing never to love again. That day changed her she started living only for the ranch her heart grew cold it turned to stone. She began hard as she took on the ranch she had a will of iron no one or nothing would get in her way. She kept this vow until the day Duncan walked by in her life 10 years later when trouble and danger comes to the ranch with one man demanding she marry him who has plans of his own. She is strong, with a will of steal, stubborn, bullhead and ready to take on the world and the man trying to push her off her land. She will not give in nor will she sale and she sure isn't going to get married. Her father has other ideas as he calls Duncan home to help with the trouble. Marry? Duncan? Is her father crazy? This is not going to happen, no way no how.......

Duncan left years ago leaving behind the only girl he would ever love. She was to young and he knew if he stayed she would be his. He could not do that to her father the only man who had taken him in and help raise him. He would not repay this kind man by deflowering his daughter so he ran and started a new life. He has changed grow cold, hard with the life he is leading. He has never forgotten the young lady who turned his world upside down. When he gets the summons to return home to help. The ranch is in danger along with Catherine there is no way he can turn his back. He comes home to find all he ever wanted on one little ranch and the women of his dreams could be his. If he can only talk the bullheaded women in agreeing to marry him. Love well he isn't so sure about that. He might just find that as Catherine gives him a run for his money that she is the only women he has or will ever love.

Her father I believe has always wanted these two to marry. As danger comes to his ranch he puts his plans into action. He isn't taking any chances as he throws in a few twist of his own that leaves two peoples world spinning. One is all for it and the other say no way in hell. This man shows what a true father should be. Caring. loving and wanting the best for those he loves. He is as strong willed as his daughter guess she got that natural.

Lia Frederick did an outstanding job of narration she has a wonderful voices that adds much to this audio. She put a lot of emotion in to each characters voice you had no problem knowing what they were feeling. There was no background noise, no breaks taken that you could tell.  You had no trouble knowing who was talking and what sex they were. She gives life to the landscape around so you can picture it in your mind. You heart breaks at each twist the author gives you with the impact the narrator puts on this audio. The audio flow was smooth and even which made it a wonderful listen.

What made this story for me was the strong will and bullheadedness of these who people neither giving in. Feelings that last a lifetime through many changes as two people get to know each other again. Both have grown cold, hard but still have a soft place for the other. The pull is still strong even after all these years. There is mystery and things are not always as you see them. Just as you think you have a handle on the plot the author twists them. I loved the suspense, the danger and the back and forward baiting of Catherine and Duncan. The Indian chief stole my heart with his wisdom and caring ways. Both Catherine and Duncan are strong willed neither willing to give in. The detail the author and narrator give of things around them is outstanding. The heartbreak you feel all the way to your heart as it breaks for them over their lost and trials.

The only thing missing for me would have been a little more detail of the earlier years. I would have loved to have gotten to know them as young teens. Maybe learned a little more about how Duncan and her father came to be with the saving of his life. It does not take away from the story just something I would have liked to know more of. For me this was a well told story that kept me listening. I found things I needed to do around the home so I could listen longer. The author gives you wonderful characters with a well thought out plot. I thought this was well written along with a wonderful narrator which made this a winning story for me. If you love westerns love stories from long ago with all the trails of making a living with the danger it brings this is the author and the book for you. I cannot wait to start another audio by this author and narrator. You cannot go wrong with this being a free read adding the audio for 1.99 it is a win, win all the way around.

Book Description
Catherine Evans fell in love when she was three years old, head-over-heels, forever kind of love. The very first moment she saw twelve-year-old Duncan McKenzie, she told God and her pony that she was going to marry that boy. He was handsome. He was kind. He was strong and smart and all the good things a boy should be. For thirteen years she loved him with every beat of her heart. And on her sixteenth birthday he walked away from her father's ranch, and from her. He didn't look back over his shoulder. Not even once. And from that day forward, Catherine Evans swore off all men. Her heart turned to stone, her will to iron, and her vow to God changed. She'd run her father's ranch. She'd succeed. She'd survive. And she would never, ever love another man as long as she lived.

Duncan McKenzie left the ranch ten years ago, desperate to escape temptation in the form of a budding young lady too innocent to claim for his own. But Catherine's frightened father summons him home. The ranch is under attack and the old man's stubborn daughter refuses to seek help. Duncan left a sweet young girl behind a decade ago. He returns to a defiant siren, a woman whose heart is as wild as the land she would sacrifice her life to protect. When Catherine's father coerces her into marrying Duncan, the fire in her eyes spells trouble, but it's the kind of trouble Duncan has no desire to resist. Marriage is the only way he can protect her. Especially when Duncan's own past comes calling in the form of one extremely dangerous and vengeful outlaw, Catherine's cowardly enemies want the ranch badly enough to kill for it, and his reluctant bride is very much in their way

About the Author
Cynthia Woolf was born in Denver, Colorado and raised in the mountains west of Golden. She spent her early years running wild around the mountain side with her friends.

Their closest neighbor was one quarter of a mile away, so her little brother was her playmate and her best friend. That fierce friendship lasted until his death in 2006.

Cynthia was and is an avid reader. Her mother was a librarian and brought new books home each week. This is where young Cynthia first got the storytelling bug. She wrote her first story at the age of ten. A romance about a little boy she liked at the time.

She worked her way through college and went to work full time straight after graduation and there was little time to write. Then in 1990 she and two friends started a round robin writing a story about pirates. She found that she missed the writing and kept on with other stories. In 1992 she joined Colorado Romance Writers and Romance Writers of America. Unfortunately, the loss of her job demanded the she not renew her memberships and her writing stagnated for many years.

In 2000, she saw an ad in the paper for a writers conference being put on by CRW and decided she'd attend. One of her favorite authors, Catherine Coulter, was the keynote speaker. Cynthia was lucky enough to have a seat at Ms. Coulter's table at the luncheon and after talking with her, decided she needed to get back to her writing. She rejoined both CRW and RWA that day and hasn't looked back.

Cynthia credits her wonderfully supportive husband Jim and the great friends she's made at CRW for saving her sanity and allowing her to explore her creativity.

 My Review
This is the series of The Gods Dream Trilogy which was just as outstanding as the first book in this series. This is a complicated read with many twists and turns as Ms. Holland takes you to another world where everything is different. She gives you a well told story with many wonderful characters where god's have over thrown each other taking control of human minds to get energy. The bad god feels he should have all the people worshiping him as he has helped the good gods people more. This is a story of taking back you life when it was in a happier time. People helping people to a common goal and bring back a kingdom.

The author almost brings tears to your eyes as she brings back together a sister and her brother she thought was dead. That was the most touching part of the whole read. This is a story of overcoming your past growing as a person and finding love for so many. Putting a kingdom right and bring the god's back to protect their people.

Noah Michael Levine bring life to this story with his great voice and his even tones. He has a smooth voice that pulls you in. It paints the picture of a place with such color that it almost feels real. You have no trouble knowing if the character is male or female, his emotions fit what the characters are going through. There are no background noise and you can't tell if he takes any breaks. This is just one lovely narration that gives you a wonderful compelling listen.

Ms. Holland always brings a wonderful tale and plot to her story. She has a way of pulling you in and letting the book take you over. This is really a very touching and heartwarming read as the characters take control and start over finding love and building a new life. I love this author's books she is a must have author. If you have read or listen to any of her books she puts family values back into us as she takes us to another place and time. I love this fantasy series where everything is different than earth. The little pet animals will charm you as the characters bring a smile to your face as they touch you with their pain. If you haven't read or listen to any of this author's work you really should. Each book for me is a must have with her wonderful story telling ways that stay with you after you have finished the read.

The author write a lovely heartwarming story filled with so much sadness. She has filled it will wonderful characters as she gives you a touching read. Each character has lost someone they love and are in need of a Christmas miracle. Can one lie bring two families together to find and fix what is missing in their lives? This is a story filled with sorrow, hurt, pain and humor. I thought it was well told but was missing something for me. I had a hard time getting into this and found my mind wondering. It was a good read and I did enjoy it. The author gives you lots of twists and turns to add to the story. Just a little to much drama for me. She does give a well told story that will warm your heart. It was a lovely Christmas story that many will love and some will like.  A 3.5 stars rounding up to 4

Book Description
Celebrate Christmas on Sanctuary Island, where the love light gleams. There will be snow and mistletoe...and two lonely hearts yearning for love, family, and above all, home.

Magazine columnist Libby Leeds has made a name for herself sharing heartwarming stories from her perfect life on Sanctuary Island. There's just one minor detail she's left out: she hasn't set foot on the island since her childhood. Orphaned and heartbroken, she departed years ago and never looked back-except in her fictional columns. Now a wounded war hero is returning to Sanctuary Island, and Libby's editor insists she cover the story by taking the long road back...

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS

Army Ranger Owen Shepard is a tall, handsome single father, and now a media sensation. He wants to reconnect with his daughter, Caitlin, and make up for lost time by giving her a Christmas to remember. When "America's Favorite Homemaker" Libby Leeds offers her help, he jumps at the chance. But the sweet, reclusive writer is more intriguing, and more tempting, than Owen could have imagined. Soon, Owen and Caitlin are spending their holiday with Libby, decorating trees, making gingerbread houses, and warming up by the fire. It's the closest Libby has come to love and family since she was a child-but until she and Owen admit what is in their hearts, the home they are creating together will be only in their dreams.

About the Author
Lily Everett grew up in a small town in central Virginia, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Although she's lived many other places since, from college in Philadelphia to her first job in New York City and her current home in Austin, Texas, she never forgot the beauty and warmth of her little hometown. She is thrilled to be writing the Sanctuary Island series full time because it allows her to combine her longstanding love of romance with the memories of her childhood home.
