By: Aleron Kong
Narrated by: Nick Podehl
Series: Chaos Seeds, Book 1
Length: 9 hrs and 49 mins
Unabridged
Release date: 04-27-17

I really did enjoy this audio it has a unique twist I do not play games so for me it was different and I liked it. The only things that got a little old is when he powered up. Don’t get me wrong I liked knowing what powers was given just having so much at once took my mind off the story. There are lots of twists and turns starting with (I think) a demon who wants to get off planet but can’t until he finds someone to start conflict. He needs humans but they have to come willingly. He has a great plan getting young teens to play his game and want to move up enough that they want to come and be a part of his planet. There are dangers at every turn that has to be worked out you either win or you die. I know I set there wondering what would happen if the characters died and was very pleased with the outcome.

Come take a journey as one young man fights his way to be the first person to go all the way to the top and win. The only things is what does he win and what he will have to go through to get there if he even can get there.

The narrator just a really wonderful job with the narration from the many different character voice to the emotions. I thought he had the right pitch and tone for everything each character went through. The volume never changed, no background noise and the music used fit the story very well, it wasn’t over powering, not to loud or two low. I could not tell if any breaks were taken. There was no repeating of words just a very clean and clear audio I got lost in. I had no trouble knowing who was talking or what they were feeling. The narrator normal voice was just as pleasant as his character ones. The male and female voices were outstanding. I really got lost in the story and had no trouble picturing the scenes at they were laid out. It was very easy to forget you were listening. I really loved this narrator and what he brought to the story.

I enjoyed the surprises as they came along, had a few heart stopping moments, a few times I thought wow this can’t be good. The story is a learning process just like a game. The author goes a wonderful job laying it out, pulling on your heart as Richter tries to defend his land and defeat the enemies. There is a lot going on in a short time but you never feel lost you always know what is happening. I felt I was right there going along for the ride, I even put my hands over my eyes a time or two thinking no no no and oh yes yes yes oh my what the heck. The author pulls you right in making you feel part of the story. It is very fascinating and I really enjoyed it. The ending leaves off where the next part of the story will begin.

The Christmas Confection

The Christmas Confection (Hardman Holidays #6)
by Shanna Hatfield

The author bring you a wonderful story of danger, learning to deal with ones past, excitement with old fashion values that you only find from the west years ago. She spins a tale that will pull on your heart, making you talk to the characters and wanting to hold them close in their time of need. It really breaks your heart all Fred has to deal with from his past but at the same time brings you pleasure at his future.

Both Fred and Elsa are very strong people both really knowing what they think they want but what they find is they need to do some rethinking. This is a very believable story with great characters I fell in love with.  Elsa and her brother have a lot of things they will need to work out and get use to. They are having trouble finding that middle ground. Fred has a few secrets that Elsa doesn’t know about. Fred’s biggest problem is he thinks he isn’t good enough.  Yes he did some things in his younger days but he was just a teen. He holds his self away from Elsa and she knows it. She just doesn’t know how to get in and heal his wounds.

I loved Fred’s family they are fun, loving and so caring they gave me many smiles. Elsa brother is great just needs to learn what needs to come first. It is well writing I very much enjoyed it and the people between the pages.   There are a few twists and turns that will keep you on your toes along with some excitement, some heart stopping moments. The romance is nice sweet and clean just as cute as can be. It was a story that touched me in a very sweet way.

By: Sandra E. Sinclair
Narrated by: Meghan Kelly
Series: Timeless Hearts, Book 9
Length: 3 hrs and 37 mins
Unabridged
Release date: 10-26-17

I have totally enjoyed each book of this series going back in time finding your one true love has been an amazing series with Timeless Pleasure being a wonderful addition to it. The author throws in a little paranormal into the mix of a half Indian who had to leave his home because of what a jealous woman did many years ago. One man who has dreams of one woman for so many years that he does not even have to close his eyes to see her. This one woman can change his life make him normal giving him back his life and making him whole. He has given up hope of ever seeing her when he goes to town and looks down the street he can’t believe his eyes there before him is the women of his dreams. Can it be true? Can she set him free?  Does she know? Has she had the same dreams as him? So many questions with no answers in site.  If you enjoy time travel, Indians who has visions and true romance at its finest than you do not want to miss this one.

Ms. Kelly just gets better and better with each new narration she does, she has come so far from the first one I listened to. As I start listening I know there will be many smiles, laughs and maybe a few tears as she takes me on a journey bring to life a story that needs a voice only she can give. I have totally enjoyed Timeless Pleasure with her many different voices she gives live to the characters showing true emotions.  There are no background noise, no repeating of words, no volume changes. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. I love that I always know who is talking and what they are feeling with the powerful pull she gives her characters never leaving you guessing. I could hear the desperation in Bradley voice to just want to be normal, to find that one person who would be his other half.  The pain in Emily’s voice when she found out about her mother and how she helped with that down fall. The audio is very clean and clear giving you a delightful listen you get lost in.

I loved the mystery around Bradley, the not knowing even for him. I totally enjoyed how the author created the scenes with Emily and how she knew what to do. The danger of not knowing, the fear when the knowing becomes too real, it isn’t something I can talk about without giving the plot away just know the author pulls you in giving you one heck of a twist holding you spellbound. I really enjoyed getting to see past characters, getting to know how their lives had changed. The author really shows how the effect of you past holds the keys to your future. She gave closure to so many of the past characters in a way that really makes you smile. The past book is woven into this one in a way that is very pleasing to the read.  I loved the way she brought the horses into the story they play a very big part. Emily has a way with them that surprises so many. The opening where she time travels back in time and the way she deals with the first horse she sees is amazing. How she turns the tables when a sale goes wrong, how she deals with the fight and how she deals with Bradley and his issues is just delightful. I think this is my favorite so far. All of these books have touched me but this one goes way into emotions and finding peace that only true love can bring. I loved the twists and turns, the danger, excitement and the thrills that words just do not define, you have to read it to get the full effect of how touching this story is. From the narrator to the author they bring a timeless story that will stay with you for a long time to come.

Ms. Kelly does a wonderful job narrating from her wonderful character voices to the delightful emotions she puts into her audios. You can hear the emotions that each character is going through as well as the fear, happiness and sorrow they must go through. There are no background noise, no repeating of words, no volume changes. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. I always knew who was talking, what they were going through. She really brought the characters to life pulling me in and painting a picture I could see in my mind. I could really hear the desperation in Eden’s voice and the angry at being dupe in Andrews’s voice. This is a very clean, crisp audio that is very realistic that you almost feel like you are watching a movie. I really enjoyed how she show the sparks flying between these two and how she really brought out their true feeling for each other and other characters.  Her male voices were just as good as her female voices. I totally enjoyed listening to this audio.

What really made this audio for me was how realistic the scenes where, this is a very believable story that really touches you heart. It is about what one woman is willing to do to get away from a man she can’t trust to find a better life for herself. She doesn’t plan things out very well and gets into one mess after another with lies on top of lies. One man who does a good deed wishes he has looked the other way. It is so true no good deed goes unpunished but in this case the plot thickens as Andrew has to deal with his own issues of what he has waiting at home for him. I really liked the preacher and his outlook on marrying mail order brides as well as his mother and her matchmaking ways. There are many twists and turns with danger around the corner. There was a time or two when my heart was in my throat. It is a very well thought out story that holds the listeners attention getting you involved yelling at the characters. I totally enjoyed it from start to finish and really wished all mail order brides who find their selves in a mess had an Andrew to save them.
