An Unexpected Home

An Unexpected Home (Cedarville #1)
by Bree Kraemer

What is there not to love about small towns, everyone knows everyone, they help each other, the bad side is they know everything about everyone and you just can’t get away with much. Three women move to town to start a business, Leah hopes to find herself and put some issues behind her. Things aren’t always that easy since the past she is trying to outrun comes back and bites her.

The Attraction between her and Brandon is from the start, they can’t seem to keep their hands off each other. Which leads to some very hot sex scenes. They are very likable characters and a believable plot. I thought the writing was good, I enjoyed the twists and turns along with the danger. The question is will their love last or will Leah’s past tear it about. She has to trust in someone looks like Brandon will be the one she lays her cards out for.

The story is interesting it isn’t a book I couldn’t put down but it is a story that holds your attention. A cute read that made me smile and laughs. I loved the humor and the wit the author gives it. I am very much looking forward to the next book in this series.

PHATT Farm

PHATT Farm (Smoke, Inc #4)
by Gem Sivad

A short and sweet, to the point, fast paced story. Since it is short I won’t say too much about it. There is danger, suspense and romance along with some drama. Well written with great characters that will make you laugh. I loved the humor, the plot and the touching romance.

Summary
After twenty years in the military, Eazy Phatt realizes he's seen it all, done it all, and regretted enough. He retires, planning to stay with family until he decides what to do with his civilian life. He's thirty-eight and his priority is to find a woman who'll love him as much as his mom loved his dad. And he's hoping to do that before he turns thirty-nine.

During his home visit, he discovers the farm is steeped in debt and heading for the auction block. Worse, his mother’s solution is to invest in a hair-brained scheme, capitalizing on the family name. She's turning the homeplace into a weight loss center.

Eazy’s not happy with the new business at all—until the last registered guest arrives accompanied by her dog. The voluptuous siren is the woman of his dreams. But something has her spooked. She’s on edge, needs to unwind, maybe make a friend. Both she and her dog are watchful, suspicious, guarded. As a battle-scarred veteran, Eazy recognizes a victim of violence. He’s got six weeks to gain her trust and convince her to let him protect her too.

FBI agent Mackenzie Sierra appreciates the irony in her situation. While she recovers from a gunshot wound meant to keep her from testifying against an assassin, she's spending six weeks in-hiding at a weight loss center. Go figure. Her handler probably thinks he's being cute, knowing she considers dieting stupid. Phatt Farm is going to be six weeks of mindless boredom.

But then again, maybe not. As soon as she meets the resident farmer, Mack thinks of many ways they could burn calories together. When he asks her to help him with farm work as an alternative to a daily regime of yoga, meditation, and pushups, she accepts, picturing hours of gratuitous sex.

Hot body aside, Eazy Phatt is a pain in the neck. Instead of becoming her lover, he turns Mack into a farmhand, keeping her busy from first light till bed. She drives tractor, stacks hay, picks apples, shucks corn, and somewhere along the way, falls in love. And that all happens before the shooting starts.

Blood Distraction

Blood Distraction (Blood Reaction Saga #2)
by D.L. Atha

In book one we found out just what happened to Annalice and what all she had to do just to survive. It was a very hard time for you and she has lost so much. With those days behind her she finds she is living in hell and takes the life of her maker who has a brother who now is her judge. I really like the twists and turns and how different it is from other stories of this kind. I have to say I really like Levi a WHOLE lot more than his brother. He always wanted a better relationship with his brother now that Annalice killed him that would never be. He now puts his sights on her and what he will do with her. He wants her dead until he finds out the truth now he just wants her gone.

Annalice is having a hard time over what she has become, she is having trouble overcoming it and learning to be what she is. Levi once he gets over the issues becomes a kinder man who helps her learn and find her way. My heart really went out to both of them but more so to Annalice she has dreams and sees them as truth when she will never have the relationship she had before with her daughter. She can’t go out in the day. She really must get over it and deal with what she has. It is hard not to sympathize with her but there were times I just wanted to shaker her. At times, she is just too much me, me, me. It is an intense but a good one, well written but a cliffhanger. It is interesting and holds your attention and well worth your time.

Blood Reaction

Blood Reaction (Blood Reaction Saga #1)
by D.L. Atha

What a unique read, not a romance but more of a companion story about a vampirewanting human contact and a companion and then kills them. Annalice agrees to spend one week with Asa who is an evil vampire in exchange for letting her daughter live. What follows is a week of hell and how Annalice changes what does this all mean and what will the outcome be.

Annalice is a very strong woman. I really liked her character and all she is willing to give up to make sure her daughter is safe. I kept hoping that Asa would do a turnaround from evil to good and that Annalice dreams for her future would come true. It is a story on survival, being strong and doing the best you can with what is given you. I really enjoyed it and thought it was well written. I am very much looking forward to reading the next book.
