Just Jilted

Just Jilted
by Lila James

I got this from Kindle Scout it really has a great plot and some good characters but for me way to much drama and fighting. I did like the ending which was happy and well done. I found it very hard to get into and was well over half the book before the fighting over every little thing stopped. From that point on I totally enjoyed it. I didn’t see a lot of romance between these characters but more about other characters. I did like how the parents went from one way to another. I would say this story is closer to real life but for me it was just to close. I can see and hear this every day from people I am around. It does have good places. Please give it a try you might just love it.

Chasing Christmas

Chasing Christmas (Rodeo Romance #5)
by Shanna Hatfield

This was such a fun read I laughed myself silly as Chase’s cousin sets him up to get married in a make believe wedding only it isn’t and they find out they are truly married. You have to give it to the cousin she made it as real as she possible could, from inviting family and bring in a preacher. What really made this a win win for me was the cousin and the best friend who went out of their way to keep them together making sure they had little choice but to get to know each other.

Jessie is such a sweet almost to sweet character that pretty much lets everyone walk over her. My heart really went out to her but at the same time I wanted to shake her for taking everything on the chin. Her best friend is a delight she adds a lot of fun to the story.  Chase is really down to earth but come off for the show of being women chaser to a point. Once he finds his self married he does stay true and puts other in their place. The wedding was wonderful having Chase dodge those kissing lips of other women so funny.

I loved the cat and how Chase couldn’t seem to get his name right, it was the height of the story to see what name he would come up with next. He has issues with the little thing but his best friends soon fall head over heels for the fur ball. The attraction between these two is strong they fight so hard to keep their hands off each other in this delightful clean romance. It is well written with wonderful characters that were easy to relate to. I was lost from page one, reading this at one setting. I loved the characters and the messes they get into, it was a fun, interesting, spellbound as these two butt heads trying to find a way to stay and walk away. There is a little drama, confusion, good times along with a few sad. There wasn’t anything I didn’t like. The author really put a lot of thought into making it a wonderful, delightful read that holds your attention why keeping you smiling. What a way to bring in the Christmas cheer getting your ready for the holidays.

Timeless Storm

Series: Timeless Hearts, Book 5
Length: 3 hrs and 26 mins
Unabridged
Release date: 09-12-17
Language: English
Publisher: Sandra E Sinclair

What I really loved about this is it starts where book 1 left off we got to see some wonderful characters with one that left an untold story. I was so glad when I picked this one up and started it to find out it was about Ryder. As you found out in the last one he was taken back to the past when he was very young. He has a hidden talent that is very surprising that the author really brings out as he goes from the past to the future. How much can a few year change he thinks as he is taken ahead a few years. What he finds really shocks him as he learns to deal with the changes he finds one lady that is Raven’s best friend. He has to make her understand what happen to her best friend as well as deal with his family and the past he remembers, and the future learning just how much of a talent he really has and what that will mean to the women he falls in love with.

Meghan Kelly really pulls out the characters as she goes through the paces the author gives. She really bought this story to life making it very easy to picture the scenes. Some were downright scary making my heart beat fast a time or two. I felt I was right there with them and held my breath to see the outcome. Her character voices are delivered with such emotion really breaking your heart as the two main characters come head to head chasing storms that could end their loves.  There were no repeat of words or any changes in volume, no background noises.  You have no trouble knowing what each character feeling or who is taking. Her tones are right on the money giving a very in depth feeling of emotion. Her female voices are just as great as her males, giving an in-depth deep voice or a smooth as sweet sexy one. This is a very clean, clear audio that is very realistic that you almost feel like you are watching a movie. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. She really delivers a highly exciting listen that kept me spellbound holding my breath, laughing and so glad when the thrill is over.

Ms. Sinclair really holds nothing back as she delivers and exciting, passionate, clean read that holds you spellbound. It was a story I couldn’t put down I had to find out what happen next. She gives you thrills, chills, smiles and a few hearts stopping moments. It broke my heart when Ryder meets his family, the author really pulls on your heartstrings. Oh the letters were so touching but very heartbreaking.  I was glad and sad at the same time. I loved how she brought the past to the future going into detail of the changes and how confusing they were. She explains things so easy filling in all the blanks. There were times I had to smile and even laugh but other times I was sad. So much to look forward to but so much left behind. When you close the book you are left with a feeling of hopes, dreams and a smile. But you still wish the friends could meet again. These couples make some very tough decisions when they travel in time. I loved each character how they deal and what they find out, just what is held back and for what reason. I think the most exciting was the storms how Ryder deals with them and the things they find out as well as the passion between them and the choices they make. I know I was on the edge of my seat, I had no trouble at all picturing the storms with my heart in my throat.  Loved it from start to finish. It was a great addition to the first book in the series. I can hardly wait for the next one and see how the authors blend the past stories into the new ones. I am so loving this series.

Timeless Healing

Timeless Healing
Timeless Hearts, Book 4
By: Peggy L Henderson, Timeless Hearts
Narrated by: Cody Roberts
Series: Timeless Hearts, Book 4
Length: 4 hrs and 38 mins
Unabridged
Release date: 06-19-17
Language: English

Timeless Healing is the fourth book in this series with the author going in to drug abuse to overcome pain of too many losses.  It is a powerful story of what one man goes through trying to get over his guilt and his loss of a best friend and a baby. It is really a heartbreaking story that you have no trouble relating to. I am sure we have all had someone we knew that has had to deal with something close to this. A very touching listen that really pulls you in taking you back in time to get over and hopefully have a future where none is.

Mr. Roberts’s narration is wonderful he has a very smooth deep voice that really makes his males come alive and at times downright sexy. There were no background noises, no repeating of words, no volume changes just a smooth clean listen. His female voices fit the characters giving them a tone that really plays out the characters. He really made this audio come alive with his emotions, dryness, compassion showing how each character truly feels and the pain they are in. If any breaks were taken I could not tell, he delivers a smooth, exciting listen with meaning that pulls the listener in giving a compelling listen that feels like it is happening before your very eyes. I really like the emotion, dryness and at times coldness he gave to Chris as well as the confusion, uneasiness as he time traveled. He made my heart go out to not only Chris but Frannie as well with all she had to deal with. The narrator delivers a very clean and clear audio that I really enjoyed.

This author delivers a very touching listen you can’t help but help feeling the pain and sorrow of each of the main characters as they go through some very trying times.  My heart broke for these two from the start each going through and fighting their own demons. Chris does have some unfinished business that gets him in a pickle and leaves the reader totally heartbroken. Prescription drug abuse is very serious it is heartbreaking, as well as physical abuse. The author really shows how much a gentlemen Chris is and how confused Frannie is by his action. It is totally different from what she expects. She also shows how disrespectful it was for women back then from her father to her husband. It is just so sad but there is fun, humor and love as the story really takes off. I loved the confusion that only time travel can give. The story was well written with a wonderful plot that keeps the reader hook from start to finish.

This is the first book in this series giving us a taste of what is yet to come. I totally love this it and how in depth the author takes it. Time travel has always been one of my favorite things to think about whether it is going forward or backward there is so much to think about from how they deal with the change to how they feel about it. The author really put a lot of thought into the story line from the clothes to the technical and how it would impact the characters. At time I found myself laughing when Lance mistakes her for his ex and how he dealt with her. But things are not always as they seem.

Meghan Kelly is a very talented narrator that brings so much to the story. I really enjoy her many different voices that she delivers with such emotion. There is no repeat of words or any changes in volume, no background noises.  You have no trouble knowing what each character feeling or who is taking. Her tones are right on the money giving a very in depth feeling of emotion which include anger, confusion, feeling of lost, lonely, pain, happiness and lots of smiles and a few laughs. I enjoyed how she really shows the sparks flying between these two as well as how bullheaded they both were. Her female voices are just as great as her males, giving an in-depth deep voice or a smooth as sweet sexy one. Each are wonderful as she pulls you in giving a very highly entertaining listen. This is a very clean, crisp audio that is very realistic that you almost feel like you are watching a movie. If any breaks were taken I could not tell. It has been a pleasure watching this narrator grow and learn how to really grab the true characters giving you a delightful wonderful listen you get lost in.

Raven’s life is all mixed up from her money to her feeling for her ex. She can’t believe when she wakes up and finds things have changed so much and her ex is there in clothes from the past. Is this a joke? She soon finds out it isn’t and he isn’t joking when he said ride or be pulled behind. Lord what has she gotten herself into?

Lance is shock when he sees the women before him that left him for another man. She will pay and he will see that she does. Something is off she just isn’t the same and what is that she is wearing.  This women needs to learn to cover herself she looks like a saloon women. After a trip to the judge he knows just how he will make her wish she never crossed him.

When the future meets the past or is it the other way around…..there are some hearts stopping moments with such pain. The future has Lance as being one mean SOB that cares very little for anyone in his path.  Raven has her job cut out for her but first she most not confuses the Lance from the future with the Lance from the past. The story is well blends from confusing, feeling of lose, hopes and finally anger, pain and sorrow. It is a story of going to another time to find your true love, changing lives and the future as they see it into day’s world. Everything that changes in the past has an effect on the future. The author really shows how these effects really work out. It is highly entertaining, keeping your attention, making you feel the emotions the characters feel. I had to laugh and at times was shocked at how far Lance was willing to go to make her pay for something she didn’t do.
