My Review
I have to say at first I didn't care to much for the character Jolene I found her stuck up along with her thinking she is better than most. Once I got into the story I found her very likable just misunderstood. We often hide our feelings under anger or difference I found I could relate to her character as I looked back over my past. I think most people in at sometime in our lives have used this type of protection. You have two people who lost the person they were married to. Jolene thought she was marrying the man of her dreams only to find out he was weak in more ways than one. Max did marry the women he loved they had a wonderful happy life until she died. Jolene lost everything and wants to start over, away from a hateful mother along with forgetting all that she has lost. Max needs a wife to help him get into the government as well as show his daughter how to be a lady. They agree to get married but both have a few things to learn. This isn't an easy road as they will find both have to deal with the past, the future before they can find a love like no other.
At first this narrator didn't grab me, she made Jolene so dry and cold, she almost sounded whiny. I thought this couldn't be how the author wanted this. I am sure we have all had to admit when we are wrong this is my times. Once I got into the story I found the narrators voice and tones fit right in with what the author had in mind. I enjoyed her many different characters however a few were close to others. It didn't take anything away from the story and you did know who was talking. there was one place where the character whispered and the narrator did not I just felt if she had it would have made that part better. With that said I would have to say you could feel each emotion as the narrator takes you through the story you are never left guessing what each one feels. There are no breaks, her tones are even and rich as she hits just how these character feels. Meghan Kelly gives so much to each character but the one that stood out the most for me was Jolene how cold she was, as she became unsure, changing her mind and falling in love with her new life, the styles, her family and the people in her household. She may have started out cold but she did put others first and thinking of what is best for her new family. She gets her way but uses kind words and she turns people to her way of thinking. Ms. Kelly does this character very well as you come to love Jolene you come to like the narrator more and more. I look forward to listening to more from this narrator.
The author gives you an outstanding plot of lost, more lost, pain, forgiving and learning as these characters grow. It always confuses me on how a mother can be as cruel and unkind as Jolene's mother was. Jolene loses it all as she decides to overcome her past and more or less become a mail order bride. The author reminds us what is truly important and how to deal with issues which are touchy or we would rather not talk about. Max was awesome from start to finish. I found it wasn't long before I was so into this story I didn't want to put it down. I really was not ready for this book to end. In fact I got a deal on book one in this series and bought it. I am so looking forward to listening to it.
The author puts some major twist into the plot which will shock you and make you look at one character pretty much with discuss as your heart goes out to others. This is a lovely well written story of starting over, overcoming and finding what truly makes you happy not caring what others think. So many people are going to be able to relate in some way and totally love this story.

Book Description
1891...Jolene Crawford Crenshaw, heiress and Boston socialite, went from her family home directly to Landonmore upon her marriage, the mansion she shared with her handsome and charismatic husband. She'd never in her life worried in the slightest over anything as crass as the dollars required to maintain that home or the lifestyle she'd been born to. Her extensive yearly wardrobe, the stables and the prime horseflesh within it, even the solid silver forks and knifes that graced her table, were expected and required to maintain the social standing that she'd cultivated over the years. But suddenly she was a widow with little money and just her pride and her secrets to keep her upright.
Max Shelby made his fortune in oil wells and cattle but lost the love of his life the day his wife died, over 10 years ago. Now, his happy, carefree, little girl needs instruction and guidance as she grows into a young lady and his dream of becoming a senator from his adopted state of Texas seems out of reach with few political or social connections. The right wife would solve both problems. As it happens his sister knows of a woman, a recent widow, charming, beautiful and socially astute, but in reduced circumstances, who may want to begin again. Max signed the wedding contract sight unseen.
Will Jolene be able to shed her sorrows, anger and fears to begin anew away from the censure and hidden tragedy that marred her life? Is her new husband, confident, strong and capable Max Shelby, the man, the only man, to see past her masks to find the woman beneath?

My Review
I thought this was a great story with a wonderful plot however it does end with a cliffhanger which takes a little bit away from the story for me. This book is about two teens who like from afar. Megan's family wants her to stay away from the bad mob son who truly has adored her since they were young. Megan finds him hard to walk away from. This was a lovely story of young love and all they have to deal with to be together. The author throws in some major twists that you will not see coming. The characters are adorable, the language is true mob so be prepare for some bad talking. I think it adds to the story but some might not care for it. Antonio is adorable in how he loves from afar. These two young people get their hearts broken and you will feel their pain. I do not want to give the ending away but these two will have to do some major foot work to find their HEA.
Robert Burton did a wonderful job he really sounds very mob like and brought the characters to life for me. He voice is strong and clear, his character voices were great. There are no breaks just a clear audio that you will enjoy. His male voices were just as good as his female voices. I could really feel the emotions of the different characters.
Cheyenne Madison as a narrator just didn't do it for me. It was a clear audio with no breaks but it sounded like she was just reading. Her different voices sounded close to others. I didn't care for her male voices at all. I just didn't feel the emotions the character where going through.
I loved the two different narrator idea, however I think the female should have done the female voices at least all of Megan's talking. With Robert doing all the males however his female voices were great. The author really throw me on a major twist which will leave you with you mouth hung open. I didn't care for the cliffhanger and I didn't enjoy it enough to buy the next audio only to have it most likely end with another cliffhanger. The story and plot is great I really did enjoy it. I do hope the author picks a different lady to narrator. I know many will enjoy this just be prepared to buy the next book to find out just what happens. I loved the different characters they add so much to the story. I didn't care to much for Megan's mother I just do not understand what her problem was. It is almost like she thinks she is better than anyone else. I think this is the only one I didn't care for. Just wait until you see the twists it will blow your mind.

Mobster Romance Book (Free Mobster Book)
Gripping my chest is the only way to hold myself together or what’s left of me will fall out. The past week has enlightened me on one thing-I don’t care.
Megan, Mobster’s Girl
I didn’t even hesitate. I took two strides and blasted him in the face with my fist. He was ready for it this time-unlike in church. He tried to hit me back but I ducked and smashed him again.
Antonio, Mobster’s Girl
You can’t help what family you’re born into or what lies they keep from you. You can’t help it if they mold and shape you just the way they wanted. Are monsters born or made?
Antonio and Megan have a timeless issue. They were told to stay away from each other. They try, they really do. But they are drawn to each other.
Antonio is eighteen and the up and coming mob boss of Palmetto, New Jersey. Megan is a girl uprooted from the grassy plains of Ireland at the age of five. Now she’s seventeen and faced with horrors she never thought existed.

Cowboy Take Me Away (Texas Kings #2)
Cowboy Take Me Away (Texas Kings #2)
by Soraya Lane
My Review
This is one author that can hold your attention as she takes you away by building an outstanding plot that will almost bring you to tears. Hope and Chase have some major history that goes back to their college days. These two were the best of buds until graduation. On this one night where things got out of hand with one fun filled night where they burned the sheets up. When Chase wake up in the morning she was gone never to be seen or heard from again until Chase sees a woman get out of the vets truck...no it couldn't be....lord have mercy she hasn't changed a bit. She is still as beautiful and hot as ever. She may have got away once but he is hot on her trail now.
I loved these characters! Hope don't take any crap she believes in standing on her own two feet. She has had a wonderful life with wonderful parents, she comes from money but she is down to earth. She is a woman you can relate to and some will have been in her shoes in some way or other. Chase might come from money and have all the nice things but he is just a good old cowboy chasing anything in a skirt. Some things never change as Hope finds out. You can really feel the passion between these two there is no doubt they are tip toeing around how they truly feel. Things are about to get hot as one chases and the other runs.
The author spins a tale of passion, lost, need and wonder as she takes you through why Chase is the way he is. He has a hard time trusting it seems women are only after his money that is all but Hope she never was. He never understood why she walked away he misses his best bud. Hope refused to be another notch on his belt. Friends was good enough for her but she does hide a few secrets which just might surprise one cowboy. These two must learn to deal with the here and now as well as their past before they can come together and work out a future when they have a HEA.
I enjoyed the first book in this series but not as much as I have this one. The author kept me laughing and smiling as well as had me almost in tears a time or two. This is one book where you will feel the characters pain as you relate to them all. The author brings back characters from the last book so you can see how things have changed. She gives you wonderful supporting characters that are just full of themselves. There wasn't anything I didn't like about this book. If you want a good old fashion cowboy story that you will have trouble putting down this is one you should give a read.

Illicit Night with the Greek (One Night With Consequences #15)
Illicit Night with the Greek (One Night With Consequences #15)
by Susanna Carr
My Review
I found this to be a highly entertaining read that kept my attention with all the twist and turns that came with it. They have a past that blows you way, there is anger, drama along with sadness that makes you want to reach out and hugs these two people. There was a time or two that I raised my eyebrows in question but it blended well with the story. This is a book I read at one setting I just could not put it down the author pulled me in and never let me go. Stergios and Jodie have a past with a chemistry that you can feel through the pages. There are some hot passionated scenes with the tug of war this two are well match with their hot tempters as words fly from their mouths and passion flies you never are left guessing how these two feel.
Jodie has spent her life trying to get the attention of her parents in all the wrong ways. She has been kicked out of every school they have put her in. All she wants are parents that love her and show her how much she means to them. What she got were people who didn't have time for her. The last time she saw her father she was banish from his home due to her behavior. Sometimes things are not as they seem as we protect those around us. At 18 she moves on making a life for herself away from all the hurt and pain her parents give her. She always thought the time would come when she would make peace with them. What she finds is it is a little to late for her mother when she dies. She makes up her mind to work things out with her father. That meeting doesn't go so well all they remember is her past and wonder what she has up her sleeve. She must face Stergios who still pulls on her heart and the attraction is as strong as ever. She relives her past with him but she will not let the man get the better of her, she will stand her ground. All it took was one night when the passion got out of hand again for it to change her whole life. I really enjoyed this character she was strong, giving and caring. Her mouth always seems to get her in trouble as she can't stop the words from coming out it. She stands her ground and gives back all that she is given. My heart really went out to her and all she has had to deal with over the years.
Stergios is a true Greek strong, caring, and passionate, he will not let anything happen to his family they are the most important things in his life. He will build a mega power through marriage to protect his family. No harm will come to them on his watch. What he wasn't expecting was his past to hit him in the face as one lady walks back into it. She could change things and harm his family. He will not let that happen. He recalls the one night they had long ago and finds she still has a strong pull on him. He makes a choice for better or worse that will change his life as he knows it. He finds this little hot tempter will give him his run for his money as he finds he chases her across the planet to make her his. I really enjoy this character he is very strong and alpha. Any women would fall for him in a heartbeat. My heart went out to him for what he had to go through at the hands of his father. He is going to have to learn to not only trust in his self but in other before he can comment to any woman.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it will not be the last. I really enjoyed the read it has a wonderful plot with outstanding characters that speaks to you. You have compassion for them as they go back in time giving you a heartbreaking story. There are a few I didn't care for but you aren't meant to as others who really grab you and pull on your heart. I thought at times the story might be a little over the top but it does blend well. There was a place I had to go back an reread because it jumped and lost me but after rereading it I found my way. This is a page turn with all the twist and turns. It was a book I could not put down. I have always fallin in love with Harlequin authors they have some of the best story tellers. If you are looking for a hot read that will keep you on the edge as these two dance around each other you should pick this book up. I doubt you will be able to put it down.

My Review
This was a cute fast read for me it moves slow and didn't hold my attention. I kept expecting it to take off but for me it never did. The story has a good plot with a twist on the villain. The chemistry between Jaine and Dylan is wonderful. Jaine lets her family use her and she gets no credit for what she does for them. I did not care for her character she did grow on me as the story went on. I thought at times the story moved to slow and at other times it moved to fast. I am not sure what I expected but the author did not pull me in and lost me. Other readers have loved this I guess I missed what they found. Please do not take my word for it take a chance and give it a read yourself.

My Review
This is a reality show with a few twist that keeps you guessing how it will all end. It was a interesting listen at times will leave you with your jaw hanging down in shock. The author throws in some major twist that you do not see coming. How far and to what links will you go to get money? Just what are you willing to do? Are you willing to sale yourself and all your beliefs to have the money? You are about to find out just how far two people go to claim$100,000. Be prepared for the shock of your life.....
Ethan came across as an idiot who was to much in love to see the writing on the wall. He really is a sweet and caring character it just took me a little time to get over how blindsided he was. He did grow on me as he came face to face with reality and the writing on the wall. They say love is blind and I would have to agree this story shows that in many ways.
Haley I liked a lot she comes across as a well put together women who knows what she wants. The question is just how far will she go to get it? Harley has some class and it shows through in little things that she does. She has some very trying times and has to learn to deal with a lot not only from her husband but the production crew.
Lori J. Moran I thought did a good job in the narration. Her character voices were good although I did have trouble between some of her male voices. I feel she needs to work on them to make them sound more manly. She left you in no doubt as to how each character felt. She has a smooth voice that is easy to listen to. There are no breaks in the audio. Her voice is very clear, I saw no change from speakers to listening on my car radio. This is the first audio I have listened to by this narrator I would listen to her again. I really enjoyed her voice very much.
The author gives you character you will enjoy and some you will totally hate. Some your would love to bang their heads against the wall and others you just want to give a hug to. The production crew and their mayhem will leave you with your mouth hanging open. There are no links this man will not go to. There sure is a lot going on with many twist to keep the story interesting. There is no doubt you are going to keep turning the pages to find out what kind of mess these two get into. This is the first book I have listen/read of this author. I did enjoy it and look forward to reading more from her. I found I was so into this audio that I had trouble putting it down. The author doesn't leave much to the imagination as she gives you a very entertaining listen which the narrator paints a picture you can see in your mind.I totally loved this ending and didn't see that coming.

Book Description
Haley had nothing to lose but everything to gain.
A new reality TV show was launching and the prize was a cool $100,000.
She would be married to a complete stranger and their lives would be followed for the next year. If they make it to the end they both get paid, if they divorce they lose everything.
The man she is to marry is sales executive Ethan Richards and the two of them must learn to get to know each other, to work together and get on together all with the cameras following their every move. Something that is not going to be easy with a scheming production crew determined to cause mayhem to boost ratings.
And when sparks really do begin to fly between the two of them, the question has to be asked, is this for love or is this for money?
If you like to read romances that are original, different from the norm and can keep you guessing right to the end then this is the perfect book for you!

When Love Matters Most (K-9 Trilogy #2)
When Love Matters Most (K-9 Trilogy #2)
by Kate James
My Review
I was pulled in from the first page and had trouble put this book down. As you open the book and start to read the first few pages will have you almost in tears as your heart goes out for the police officer and his dog. This is another win for Ms. James with her K-9 series. I thought she would never top her first book in this series but I was wrong. Ms. James gives a compelling story of right and wrong when wrong might be the right thing to do. The law is suppose to be black or white but sometimes there maybe a little gray that you maybe could bend the law. Falling in love should be easy with some of us it is not as you will find out with Rick and Madison. Both have law backgrounds each serve and protect in their own way. These two have a heated beginning, as they get to know each other they find they really enjoy their time together. As Rick works to take down the cartel he gets deeper into his job which causes major problem in his relationship with Madison. Being the daughter of a Judge she just doesn't see the gray color of the law. Rick believes in the law but there are times when maybe the law isn't enough as he bends and twist it to help young boys. Rick vows that no boy will go through what he did if he can help it.
I really loved Rick he was a hero to so many for the time he put in from helping schools teach the children to just say no to drug to his helping young boys find a better way of life. Rick had a hard beginning he uses his past to help those young children who are being used to carry drugs across the border. There is nothing I didn't like about this character as he does his best to do his job. He is faithful, loving, caring and compassionate. He does what he believes is right not only in his job but his personal life.
Madison was raised by the law in believing there is only one thing you do above all else you follow the law. She is torn between her father and his beliefs and Rick and his beliefs. She sees both sides each have good points but the law is the law. It takes her friends and her father to put her on the right track but it might be to late she might have already lost her one true love.
The book starts out with a drug bust that goes wrong with one man and his dog down neither not expecting to make it. Rick takes Zeke to the clinic to get him the help he needs. He temper is high and his worries are strong as he meets Madison he doesn't show his best side. This first meeting doesn't go well, the next times they meet things take a turn for the better. As things are looking up for them the cartel gets in the way causing trouble for the K-9 unit along with their love life.
The author gives you a wonderful heartwarming clean read with some touchy subject matter. These are characters you can relate to as your heart goes out to both of them you are torn as your heart breaks over the many issues that come into play. There was a time or two that I would have like to bang their heads but I understood where they were coming from. The author has done her research to bring you a wonderful plot with many twist and turns. There are times your heart beats fast as well as times when your jaw will drop. The author writes in a way that you feel their pain and sorrow. You will walk away with tons of respect for the K-9 unit and all they deal with. The author will make you laugh as she brings tears to your eyes with some very touching scenes. The dogs will make you smile as you see all they go through to close down the drug cartel. This is a story that will stay with you. It is a story you wish would not end. I would love to know more about these characters and their future. I haven't read any of Ms. James books that has not touched me in some way. This one reaches out and pulls on your heart. As I close the book it gave me a heartwarming feeling as all of Kate's book do. I can't wait for the next one to come out.

After graduating with a degree in civil engineering, she held a variety of positions in the field of real estate development and operations, and ran three substantial organizations. While her writing during this period was mostly business related, including presentations and speeches she delivered both nationally and internationally, her passion is and always has been fiction.
Kate's business and personal experiences enable her to write fiction with a deep, often first-hand knowledge of what she is writing about. This approach makes Kate's stories richer and more vivid.
Kate's goal is to entertain you with well-written, engaging stories, set in intriguing places and with strong, likeable characters. "I hope my stories bring you pleasure and entertain you. Nothing pleases me more than receiving feedback from people who have chosen to spend their valuable leisure time with one of my books," notes Kate.
Kate married her husband, Ken, in an elegant, ocean-front wedding on a tropical island. When they are not traveling, they split their time between their properties in southern and central Ontario in Canada with their beloved black Labs, Harley and Logan.
